I am getting a cut/color soon, too. Marie wants a haircut before we head to the beach on the 3rd. It is amazing how much better a haircut can make one feel!

My hair is extremely thick and grows like crazy so Pam cut a lot off as well as thinned it out... yes, I feel much better.

Frustrated, vent alert.

I don't think I complain too much about my husband. Well, this is not going to be a positive post! Last night he went to the basement and said he would put the jeans in the dryer and start another load. When he went down one more time before bed I asked him to make sure the washer load got put in the dryer and he'd have to find a basket or fold the jeans.

Today I decided the bathroom looked just AWFUL and needed cleaning. I did the shower, took the curtain and liner off. Decided I'd wash the liner before putting it and the liner back up. Went to the basement (can you see where this is going)? Opened the washer and found the clothes from yesterday. Rewashed. Opened the dryer to pull out and fold the jeans - they are still WET. So, now I have double to do.

This is why I don't like to clean - I have to redo or fix stuff that other people said they would take care of. I'm just not in the mood to deal with this today.

Sorry, vent over. But you may want to avoid my next few posts - I might not be very pleasant for awhile.

Jo, it's not Bills fault. All the other husbands were getting tired of hearing about how great he is and all the wonderful things he does around the house and for you and the girls. He had to do something to stay in the club

Nikki, sorry for the stress. Take 3 deep breaths, in with the good, hold... out with the bad. Releasing very slowly. Do this x 3. You will feel better.

Nikki, he is a grown man and will have to deal with his own mistakes in due time. If the children are not being taken care of, you can always call social services. Do not take this on as baggage. Somehow, you need to compartmentalize this entire issue, and set it aside. Maybe you need to spend an hour or two to worry say, per day... but the rest of the time please try to set it aside and live in the moment.
I know it is easier said than to do.

Nichole- An elderly neighbor has a saying, "everyone must go up fools hill, some people take a LONG time" Unfortunately, it sounds like your brother is one of the slow movers. Take care of yourself. hugs

Hello Nikki.. all you can do is support the children at this point. Take them from time to time, give them experiences ...don't back yourself into a corner. The situation was out of your control, entirely.

Please pray for me. I am a worry wart as you know. So, I just made an appt for the dr. I have been having a pain in my lower abdomen for a few days. it comes and goes. However, it is bothersome. I will be going there today after DH goes to therapy. They are only blocks apart! So we can walk from one to the other than walk a few blks to the bus to go home.

Praying for Joan and Nikki and all of you! I hope everything is OK, Joan! I am sure it is.

Had a nice date with Jim last night. He is very nice and really likes me and very much wants a relationship. We are going to his sister's lake cabin on Saturday so we'll spend the day together which will be fun and good to see each other over the course of a day rather than just a date.

Today is a busy day. We have a grand opening party to go to and I am getting my hair done. Lots of errands to run as well!

Good Morning!
Hugs and prayers for Joan and Nikki!

It is a fresh day here, very little humidity and sunny. I have the windows open for a bit to air the place out.

Wishing everyone a good day. Do a little something for yourselves...

Joan - you have my prayers!!!! By the way, I just opened your latest card and it reminded me for the umpteenth time to ask you - what adhesive do you use for your envelopes? I was thinking of using some of my patterned paper to do envelopes as well and like the adhesive you use.

Hedgie - I really wish we had some of that. Although, I heard that tomorrow our high might only be 79!!!! I will be so happy to be able to open windows again!!!! FRESH AIR!!!!!

Jo, what we have today, you should have tomorrow. High of about 77, it is smelling so fresh in here already! Such a relief from the air even if for only a short time!

Joanne - your post about Bill made me chuckle. I enjoy help around the house, but since I'm a stay at home mom, my house is my job and I like things done my way. Brandon will help out with chores, but I cringe when he loads the dishwasher. I hate the way he puts the dishes in and when he's not around, I will re-arrange them I also have a certain way I like to do laundry but I don't mind when he helps put it away.

Joan - hope the dr. can find out what's causing your pain.

Nikki - sorry you're so stressed. It's hard not to worry about other people's situations, especially when it's family.

It's cool and foggy right now. The high is supposed to be 81, but it looks like it could snow!

Jennifer - you are a much better person than I. I hate to clean. Hate it. So I'll take all the help I can get. BUT, I often rearrange the dishwasher, too. Bill calls me in to work my magic. And my mom doesn't like the way I load mine - I guess dishwashers are a very personal thing.

too funny..........my husband usually rearranges the dishwasher on me! ha ha

I do like the towels put a certain way and have been know to rearrange when no one is looking!

My family has been slacking in helping around the house this summer. so I have been leaving chore lists for the kids! It helps. they do just what is on the list. So, I have to be very specific, but it does get done. Occassionaly not up to my standards, so I bite my tongue or re-do it! I try to bite my tongue more than I used to!

We have more rain in the forecast! YEA!

I better get back to work!

Sherry - I think you hit the nail on the head about helping. If we want help, we have to be okay with the job the other person does. If we can't, give them a different chore! There ARE some things I want to do myself. Other things I can let slide. And the kids have to learn to do these things anyway. We're really helping them by having them help out. I did not start early enough with my girls and I regret that. They should and could be doing a lot more at this point. Technically, each girl should be able to live on their own at these ages!

I just saw a news blurb about a flu bug that is going around in certain states, mine being one of them!

We were just talking yesterday at work how odd it is so many don't feel well this summer. Everyone having stomach problems, headache fatigue, and it doesn't go away fast!

I saw that, too, Hedgie. It is awful being sick like that in the summer. Not that any time is good, mind you.

Got the grass mowed front and back, pulled weeds (again!), re-potted the hydrangea from my FIL, watered a few plants/garden and pruned a few things. We're supposed to have a big rainstorm this afternoon and it's actually a little bit humid outside. Glad I got the yard work done early.

Made lunch and unloaded/loaded the dishwasher. Can I go take a nap now?

Thanks ladies- the dr thinks the abdomen pain is a pinched nerve but wants me to see the gyn. I have an appointment on the 12th for that and a mammo. He says I must have stretched and turned my knee. I need to wear a knee brace. if it doesn't help, to come back in a month.

Joanne- I use my tape gun. I do go through a lot. So buying the scotch ATG has been so worth it! I buy the tape rolls at a local store for about 1/2 of what they cost retail.

Jen- I am so happy for you to have found someone to have fum with you are young and deserve it.

Hedgie- Are you feeling better?

I wonder if I have ever told you fine ladies how much I hate cleaning. LOL I will find anything to do instead of clean.
