Joanne, back pain is so very debilitating, extremely sorry. Chiropractic care has been helpful over the years. Sending many healing hugs.

Made these for dinner tonight. Holy Cow! Delish! I used regular bacon and cut them into 4 pieces per slice.

http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/01/b...ken-bites.html

Drew was shoveling them in his mouth between handfuls of broccoli. LOL Low carb too!

Jen- The recipe sounds good. I need to bring and appetizer to my sister's on Tuesday!
My DS only reminded me once to be more quiet. The big hit of the day was the snowflakes I punched out and laid all over the floor. She say the Little Snowflake song and then proceeded to have a snowball fight with them.
Joanne- OUCH! back pain is awful.

It was tasty and easy. It'd go great with a sweet sauce like duck sauce or raspberry. We ate it plain. Perhaps a sprinkle of brown sugar next time.

Long day and I'm still up.

Baked lots of cookies and did some last minute grocery shopping.

Preston woke up coughing so I got him settled down and now I think I can finally go to bed. All of Brandon's sisters flew in for Christmas this year so we're going over to my FIL's house tomorrow to open presents and have our holiday dinner. It's going to be another long, busy (but fun!) day.

I think I mentioned earlier this week that Bill had hurt his back. It was getting better but he woke up this morning and said he was going to the doctor or the ER. He got in to the doctor 40 mins later. This practice also has a chiropractor there so he was seen by him as well. He has had two rounds of pain killers, a muscle relaxant, two doses of Advil and is still in constant pain. He cannot get comfortable. He said after the chiropractor did his thing it hurt worse than before. He called the doctor again and now has a steroid to help (we hope) with the swelling/pain. I have never seen him in such pain. And he has had shoulder surgery and this back pain before. I thought it was bad before but this is awful. I feel so bad for him
Joanne, So sorry to hear about Bill. Back pain is the worse. I hope the meds kick in and he feels better quickly. He must be in a spasm of muscle tightening? Hope his is getting some relief by the time you read this.

I'm getting a slow start on wrapping this morning. We got to sleep in and have breakfast together. I still have the Grandkids' gifts they made. I need to put another coat of decoupage on them and find boxes for them, and wrap them when they are all dry. In the meantime, I'll wrap all the other gifts.

Once again, I didn't get my list of goodies made, so my goal is to make them when I'm not stressing out, which is between Christmas and New Years. We get together with Bob's kids over New Years. I will also mail Jason some then and he will be pleasantly surprised! I'm also going to surprise Bob with some homemade fudge and caramels.

Well, Bob just carried the gifts and wrapping supplies upstairs, so I had better get busy!!! (Is it really time for Christmas???)

Hello friends. Thankfully, Bill is feeling better. It didn't happen until about 4 a.m though. He did fall asleep around 10 last night so at least he could sleep. He got up at 4 a.m. to go to the bathroom and I didn't hear him and he didn't need my help. I left him in bed when I went to church, he was sleeping on his side. When Julie and I got home he was up. He hadn't taken anything except Advil this morning. He is much happier and, therefore, so am I!

I have to wrap a few more things, hit the grocery store and then I think I'm done. He'll help me wrap the few things later tonight or tomorrow. I'm glad I accomplished what I did earlier this week. I'm ahead of where I usually am but not really by much. Oh and I promised cookies to Bill and Marie so I'll get those made at some point as well.

We were up and out of the house at 8:45. We went to church and then saw Santa at the mall. He was so jolly and happy and spent so much time with the boys. I think he helped Jack believe in Santa for this year at least! We went to JCP for a couple more buttons and I bought myself a sweater. Then we went to the grocery store.

I just made sauce and meatballs. Next is zucchini no noodle lasagna. Then cookies. After we make some ornaments. Busy day but fun!

I am feeling pretty good. I will miss them on Tuesday but then I have them until next Friday night. and I am sure I will be ready for a break by then! I also have them New Years so really not too bad.

My friend also won't have her kids (though her ex might switch with her because she is such a good mom and is letting them go with him for a family party on Christmas Eve even though it's her holiday and he threatened to take her to court last week over something else AND he's behind on his child support.) Anyway, I called and our favorite Chinese place is open! So we're going to go there for an early dinner (like 3 pm) that way we can have a little fun and a drink and then be home at a decent hour. If she has her kids I'll still go and get Chinese. I am making a big meal for tomorrow and another for our Christmas on Weds so I won't feel like cooking just for one on Tuesday!

I'm taking a short break from wrapping. I love wrapping this year. There is no hurry, and I am in my Craft Room, so I can watch what ever I want on TV. Right now there's a Country Music Christmas Special on.

Sherry, I have my SS Gift.
I mailed mine Priority on Tuesday, the 18th. It was supposed to be delivered by Saturday. I'm scared if she hasn't received it yet! It IS insured. I have my fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back to wrapping!

I am happy to read that most are in great spirits. I am trying to keep my head clear of the negative thoughts surrounding past Christmases. Much like Dickens A Christmas Carol I don't want to be visited by the ghost of Christmas Past.
Hope you are all have a wonderful Christmas.

Reynold and I went to a beautiful candlelit Christmas service this evening to hear my friend Jim Cabral & the worship team perform. Poor Jim has been so sick and yet he still did a great job. Jim is truly musically gifted with a great voice. His wife sings as well as his little children.

Good morning!

I've been up since 5 am! But I feel better today. Last night I thought I was getting sick.

Did some wrapping and cleaned up the kitchen from yesterday's cooking. Ran to WM to grab one last thing and of course a couple of other things found their way into my cart! Picked up garlic bread for today too.

Made my boys these: Chocolate Rolls | Immaculate Baking Company Chocolate Rolls Sprinkled Christmas sprinkles on top. Oh man! I think I have started a new tradition. They were delish!

Now we are going to make the gingerbread houses and play Monopoly! Early linner around 1:30. Leave for church at 3:30 (4:30 mass but if you're not there by 3:45 you don't get a seat) and a party at a friend's at 6:30. They go to their dad's at 10 by which point I will be ready for bed! LOL

I hope you all have a lovely day with family and friends!

Merry Christmas!

More wrapping today! I hope I can find boxes for the Grandkids' projects! I told Bob to be keeping some in the garage.
Bob is working until noon. I've been waking up with headaches lately. I think the house is too dry.
We will spend a quiet Christmas Eve Day.
Everyone enjoy your Christmas Eve Festivities!!!

Hi all. Bill and I slept LATE today. Oops! I'm sure he needs the rest for healing as well as just SLEEP. He is up late at night and gets up early in the morning so I'm glad he slept in. I was just tired! LOL

Linda - I use a humidifier every single night - starting in October this year. It makes a HUGE difference. I can't believe how much better I feel - no dry nose or mouth, less itchy skin - it is amazing how much it helps.

My youngest flew back to Denver to spend a bit of time with BF and his family. Has to get back to studying, has CPA exam Jan. 4.
She did have a couple of quiet days here due to the storm and me having to go into work.

Oldest is still here. We are thinking of going to Lincoln this afternoon and then have her BF over for dinner. They will take off for Northern WI to be with his family for a fews day. I work anyway.

It is all working out well, as far as time with each other. Can't talk either of them to move home...so I am happy with what I get.

My next big decision is whethere to sign up for a Spring Semester Class. Not sure if I am far enuf along into this new job to be able to handle both.
Will be mulling that over and stamping over New Year's.....

So I will open my gift Christmas Morning, tomorrow with my coffee! Will post right afterwards!!

Take care everyone have a lovely Christmas Eve!

My ex's sister in law, whom I really like, emails me every year about what the kids want for Christmas. Her box arrived today so I let them open one thing. They chose the card (probably because she always puts money in her cards!). They received $5 and a generous giftcard to Target. They are so excited!!

Right now they are decorating gingerbread houses. We'll eat around 2 and head to church around 3:15.

Hedgie - the key to going back to school while working is to be organized and plan out your studies. I left myself a cushion of 2 free weeks at the end of the semester knowing that somewhere along the way I'd lose a week or something would take longer than expected. I know you can do it!

Amazon has some great albums on sale for $1.99 to download to your Ipod - today only. I got Simon and Garfunkel, Abba (LOL - great to run to!) and Motown Hits.

Afternoon! Jen - your guys are good-looking young men!!! Enjoy the time with them.

Hedgie - I am glad you had time to spend with your girls. I can't give you any advice about going back to school. I can't even imagine it and I don't work full time!

Have a chuckle....

Top Things Overheard on the Wise Men's Journey to Bethlehem

- "OK, we got gold. We got the frankincense. We got the
myrrh. Think we should get something more practical, like
diapers, maybe?"

- "I thought this was SUPPOSED to be a WEEKEND road trip.
Boy, is my wife ever gonna be ticked when I get home."

- "All this gazing at a star while riding a camel is making
me woozy."

- "I still say it wouldn't hurt to drop by Balthazar's place
for another visit on the way back. That was SOME buffet!"

- "16 hours a day on a camel. Are you sure this beats
walking?"

- "Why should I always have to be in the rear? It's somebody
else's turn to get sand in his face."

- "You guys have any idea how to treat saddle sores?"

- "Man, I'm starting to get a rush from this frankincense!"

- "You guys ever eat camel meat? I hear it tastes like
chicken."

- "You know, I used to go to school with a girl name Beth
Lehem."

- "What kind of name is Balthazar anyhow? Phoenician?"

- "Hey, do you either of you know why 'MYRRH' is spelled
with a 'Y' instead of a 'U'?"

- "Okay, who forgot to give his camel a bath before we
left?"

- "Whaddya mean we'll be part of history? A year from now,
nobody will have a clue why we did this."

And the top thing overheard on the Wise Men's Journey to
Bethlehem:

- "I can't wait to see and bow down before the Messiah who
has long been foretold!"
