Jen, how is the new job!?

We are having Christmas this weekend, cuz I work PM's on Christmas Day, 1:30 to midnight. I will be up Christmas morning, I plan to open my SS gift with the morning coffee!

Sorry so many are sick. I know it is a drag....

We are having a huge bizzard, all schools, shopping centers, clinics were closed to day. But the VA never closes, so I needed to go in. Thankfully very few on the road so when I slid a bit it was not big deal.

I hope everyone feels better tomorrow. Watch out East Coast, this thing is headed your way....it is a hum dinger!

Jen - I am so sorry you won't have the boys. I'm really ticked your lawyer didn't catch it. And even more at your ex as he could be nice and let them have some time with you.

Hedgie - please be very careful driving. I know you will be. How far do you have to go?

We're just expecting rain and then lots of wind tomorrow.

hedgie- take care on the roads. our area was okay. However, youngest DS lives in southeastern MN. The schools were closed but mot the university. he will drive home tomorrow afternoon.

Roast and waffles sounds like brunch! Pretty easy if you can make the roast ahead. Looks like I'll be having Chinese.

Job was ok. Just an incredibly hectic and stressful day. I'm glad it's vacation time!

Jen, I'm sorry you won't have the boys on Christmas. How late will you have them on Christmas Eve? Will your Ex have to bring them back home early evening on Christmas? I know how hard that is!!! My attorney made a big mistake on my divorce decree too. I didn't find out until my Ex retired early and I started receiving his pension. It was about $100. less a month than it was supposed to be. We went back to court, but we ended up splitting it. It wasn't the money as much as it was that I hated loosing it to HIM!!!

It is VERY windy here today and tonight. My 3 Grandkids are coming again tomorrow to finish up their presents for their Mom and Dad. It's turned into a bigger project than I anticipated. I haven't gotten any wrapping done, and I want to bake. Oh well, If I don't get all my baking done before Christmas, I'll do it before New Year. Also, My Daughter always bakes.

It's after 2 and I can't sleep. Haven't had a night like this in awhile. It is raining pretty heavily outside. I thought heard a little rumble of thunder awhile ago. The wind is moving but it isn't bad yet. It will be tomorrow. And I have some shopping to do (grocery store, a trip to Kohl's, maybe one other stop).

Jen- Sorry that you are not sleeping. it is all the stress and worry in your life right now. Give the boys an extra hug. It helps me.

It is my first day of vacation. So why did I wake up at 5AM? I could have slept longer. Everyone else is still sleeping. I don't want to wake them all up. Youngest Ds is going to try and get home today. The schools are starting late in his area. He is going to check road conditions this afternoon before he leaves.

Take care of yourselves my friends.

Sorry to those that had trouble sleeping last night. I hate when that happens!
We have SNOW today!!! It only looks like about an inch, so it's not in the streets, but it's the first snow of the season! It's also SUNNY today!

The Grandkids are coming soon, so I better get some breakfast, so I can enjoy them!!!!
Everyone enjoy FRIDAY

Happy Friday!

Jennifer - I hope Preston is feeling better!

Hedgie - be careful! and you are right the VA never closes! However I'm not a nurse or a doctor, so if I stay home in bad weather I'm not missed. I have a personal rule that if our schools close I stay home. We live in a valley and have a huge hill and when it snows and gets icey you can't get up. I have actually slid back down after getting half way up one time...so I just stay put!

Cold here today, no rain and no snow. I still electrocute myself when I touch door handles! It hurts too!

I'm so excited about Secret Santa! I hope everyone loves their gift!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Sherry

Goodness soooooo sorry for all of you who are having trouble sleeping.

Linda, have a great day with your grandchildren - I know you will enjoy them.

Hedgie, please take extra care and trusting you will be safe driving in the snow. Does the VA have any kind of plan to get staff with four-wheel vehicles?

Afternoon. We lost power very briefly during the night. Just enough to mess up the clocks!

Just saw that the Pocono Mountains got almost 3 inches of rain! YIKES! Now the problem is the wind. With so much rain and the ground being saturated, the risk of trees coming down in the wind is a problem. I really feel for those people who are still trying to recuperate from Sandy.

Cat - did you get a lot of rain, too?

No rain yet but the wind is kicking up big time. One of the wreaths on the window got completely turned around.

Thank you Joanne and Cat!

We got lots of rain last night and this morning. So far so good. Basement is dry.

Waiting for Alison to come home from school and then we are going to finish up shopping (3 things to get), hopefully a haircut for her, and grocery shopping if I have the energy.

End of the World party tonight at a band families house. Should be nice!

So happy the morning alarm won't have to be set for almost two weeks!

Catch you all later - enjoy your day!

Liz - enjoy the party tonight!

Jennifer - so glad Preston is feeling better! Enjoy the time with your hubby. Bill and I are trying to decide if we want to go away sometime next week. We want to go visit my parents but also would like a night away, just the two of us. We have to figure out what we'll do. We should probably do the cheaper route - just visit my parents! LOL

Marie bought a new Yankee candle a week or so ago. It has the most wonderful scent. It's new, called Pink Sands. I'm going to stock up on them. Like I don't have enough candles already - you should see my stash!

Hello to all!

Jackson slept until 10 am AND I had to wake him up! He was OUT! LOL Great weekend ahead: no sports, no schedule, no homework, just fun!

Have a great day everyone! Will check in later!

Yeah, we have to run to WM though. I hope it's not too crazy! I can't remember if I bought the boys a new toothbrush and I have one item there on a ship to store order.

The Grandkids finished making their gifts yesterday. They ended up being here all day again yesterday. I was exhausted when they left! Ashtyn, the 10 year old took forever on his "creation". I had to hold myself back to keep from hurrying him, and being patient. All and all, they turned out great, and I kept my patients!!! However, I'm ready for a break today.

I might take a day off today, and clean up my craft room to get it ready to wrap presents. I will be wrapping Sunday and Monday for sure!!!

Linda-You are a wonderful grandma. Yes, patience is the hard part.

jen- Sounds like a great way to spend the weekend with the boys.

I am trying to get things together for our little family Christmas gathering today. My DS and DGD are coming over sometime between 11;30Am and 3:30 PM. Per DS orders I am making waffles, bacon, sausage, fruit salad, corn muffins, mini brie phylo cups, mini phylo buffalo chicken cups, scrambled eggs with veggie and whatever sounds good to me.

I am praying he will let DH play loudly with his daughter. he gets angry because we are tooooooo LOUD and boisterous with her. She is almost three and can handle some fun.
All three of the boys will be here. WAHOO!

Thank you!

Had a wonderful time last night at the party. Was home before 11 though as we had to take Ken's car in bright and early.

thank you for the card, Nichole

Just a little wrapping to do, then hope to make gingerbread men with the twins today or tomorrow. did the holiday and two weeks worth of food shopping this morning. Worn out!

Alison wrapped presents, cleaned her bathroom, room and basement while we were gone and showed up in the driveway to bring in groceries. I think my daughter was replaced by an alien Sure was nice to come home to that. Love that kid.

Michael is going into the city with his girlfriend (or at least I think she's his girlfriend) to see the tree at Rockefeller Center. They've known each other at least 5 years or more--sorta dated--long story. Anyway I told him he'd make me very happy is they took a picture together with the tree.

Enjoy your day!

Liz, It is so nice having you back with us again!!! I can imagine how busy your life can get! I'm glad you had a good time at the party last night.

How far from New York City are you? I have visiting New York City on my Bucket List. It MAY actually happen! I talked to my Son last night, and he has a lot of friends that are Airline Attendants(Yes, my son is gay). He went to a party that was mostly attendants from Southwest Airlines. One was from Delta. Jason was talking to him, and he persuaded Jason to apply with Delta. The guy put a good word in for Jason, and hopefully Jason carries through with it. The good part is Delta flies world wide, and Jason would LOVE that. He would also finally get out of retail, which would be a HUGE blessing!!! The drawback is he would probably have to move to New York. He lives in Chicago now, which is about 3 hours away from me. New York is a LONG way away!!! However, he REALLY NEEDS a new start, and this could be ideal for him.

All three of the boys will be here. WAHOO!
Joan, Have a wonderful Christmas get-together today! Sounds like you all will have lots of fun!!! Can't wait to hear all about it!!!

Just sitting here waiting for DS and DGD to appear. I hope she is in a good mood. Sometimes she doesn't like being at my house. She comes her about once every six weeks. Speak of the devil.. guess who just drove in the driveway.

Airline attendant job would be great for him if he can stick it out. It is horrible in the beginning. They basically work on stand-by and have to be ready to go whenever. But they can commute too. Chicago isn't a bad place to commute from and eventually he'll be able to pick up a home job from there. And NY to Chicago is a quick 3 hour flight.

There are lots of pilots and attendants who live in my town. One pilot's "home" base was Phoenix and he commuted from here. He's now based out of Chicago, I think. Another woman I know is basically at the top of the list for American. I think she's the #40 attendant. So she can pick and choose whatever/whenever she wants to fly.

Hi all - my SS packaged arrived today!

Joan - hope you had a wonderful day with your family.

Linda - is he certain he'd have to move to NY? And maybe it would only be for a little while;

I think I mentioned earlier this week that Bill had hurt his back. It was getting better but he woke up this morning and said he was going to the doctor or the ER. He got in to the doctor 40 mins later. This practice also has a chiropractor there so he was seen by him as well. He has had two rounds of pain killers, a muscle relaxant, two doses of Advil and is still in constant pain. He cannot get comfortable. He said after the chiropractor did his thing it hurt worse than before. He called the doctor again and now has a steroid to help (we hope) with the swelling/pain. I have never seen him in such pain. And he has had shoulder surgery and this back pain before. I thought it was bad before but this is awful. I feel so bad for him

Nothing is certain. Jason hasn't had an interview yet. I will let you all know if something happens!

I feel sorry for Bill!!! I live with chronic lower back pain, and sometimes the pain is intolerable. I don't get relief from anything except strong pain medications and muscle relaxants, along with something to help me sleep. Over the years I've learned that I just have limitations! I hate it, but it's a fact.
