thank goodness it is friday! this has been a horrible week at work!

Cat - I'm so sorry for Alexander! that man was just awful!

Linda - Your soup sounds wonderful!

This weekend, I'm going to work on the items for the craft fair I'm in. Hopefully make some head way on a few things and pack for Vegas!

I like to clean house and have all the laundry done when I go out of town, I'm hoping I can do that this weekend!

I hope everyone has a great afternoon!

Sherry

Happy Friday to all!

Conrad will be coming soon for the afternoon while mommy & daddy are working. Introduced him to Club Penguin online and he loves it just as Alexander did. It is a fun site for kids.

Chuckle for the day...

The Pentagon once did a study on why so many American
servicemen marry women in the countries where they're
stationed.

Contrary to popular belief, loneliness had nothing to do
with it.

Once the men rotated back to the U.S., all their in-laws
were thousands of miles away.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Hi all! The sun is shining. I'm so happy for that. We've had such dreary weather since before Hurricane Sandy made her horrible appearance. Some people are still without power and not even able to be in their homes. Unfortunately, I know these things take time, but that doesn't make it any easier on those waiting.

Jen - you worked longer on that homework assignment than I would have! A note would have been attached and that would have been that! You do what you can. There were times my kids went with homework not completely finished - an answer or two missing because none of us could understand it. I hated homework. Felt I did it once when I was in school, did NOT want to do it again!

We went to the gym today and Preston didn't cry when I left! He was doing so good and then we stopped going. Now that we're going again, he's been crying every time I leave and it breaks my heart!

We stopped at the grocery store and got stuff to make homemade pizza for dinner. Preston was a good boy and got to ride the horsey when we were done. It's only a penny and it's a fairly long ride.

We're supposed to get a storm this weekend - it's starting to get windy!!

Cat - How is your grandson? I cannot imagine having that happen but sadly, it's just another form of bullying. Whether it's a soldier, or someone who is different, it's really all about power and making someone feel badly. I am sure he is tough as nails like his grandma!

Up on the housetop was the right answer! We're going to do these types of problems here at home more often. I think it'll be fun and a good, quick learning activity. There are 1000's on the web!

Joanne - this was gifted homework. If you don't do it you get kicked out of the program. It's one of little guy's true joys to be smart so I need to ensure he continues to be eligible, even if I have to help with homework that is tough with his disability. We had a talk about not leaving it to the last minute. It's hard because it's on Friday so he often forgets to do the homework until Thurs and by then the lesson from class is long gone from his memory!

I AM GOING TO STAMP THIS WEEKEND!! I am also going to clean, do laundry, finish my paper and do schoolwork. We also really need to go to the dump tomorrow!

I worked in the life skills class at the high school today. I went to science and jewelry making. It was a lab day and I enjoyed the lab (figuring out speed/distance/time) Jewelry making was rough on both of us. Tedious work. We were learning to make hemp twine bracelets. An hour of weaving and tieing knots. Now I know why I don't do beading/jewelry making!

Jen - OH - that would be tough! I think kids generally like to leave homework until the last minute. At least most kids. It does make it more difficult though. And for the record, that was a tough one, I think!

I have managed to eat dinner, clean up most (dishwasher was more full than I realized), did some laundry, paid the bills and am now looking forward to relaxing in front of the tv. I have some cross stitch I need to finish, too. I'm working on a Christmas tea towel. I am disappointed in the pattern so I don't really like it. But I want to finish it!

Well,we just did 4 more from the web and he TOTALLY got them! He did great! I think we were both overtired yesterday. He was so excited and happy with himself that he got them! This is a huge deal for an ASD kid. Pretty good night over here!

Nikki - I hope you are feeling better!

I made homemade pizza and baked brownies. Once Brandon gets Preston down, we're going to watch a movie and eat dessert.

I love Friday nights!

Good morning! I have so much to do. I started cleaning out a drawer in my craft cabinet. WOW! There are things in there I didn't know I owned. That is scary. I guess if I haven't used them in a while, it is time to let them go!!! It is a rainy dreary day. Dh is working all weekend. So I am hold up in my house.

Have a good day!

Good Morning! I have one week in, on the new job. So far I think it is going to be good. Nice ppl and the work will be satisfying. I am tired though, from concentrating so hard all week. Have lots of laundry to do...gonna lay low today...

Good job on the puzzle! Jennifer, I would probably never have gotten that.
Jen, that is a fun activity for the boys...Sounds like things are going well!
How is school going for you?

Joan, I only purged about 1/3 of the drawers and closets last week and ended up with so much to throw away...could barely roll the garbage can to the curb! I know what you mean...I found things I couldn't even remember I had.

Morning!

We have been getting rid of stuff lately, but there is still soooo much. It is never ending!

It is a nice day here, sun shining, warmer - so I have windows open! I love it.

I took the soup to Dave yesterday. He has a rare bone disease, and is pretty much home-bound. He has so many things wrong with him that need surgery, but he can't have, because his bones are so brittle. He is on so many medications that are expensive, he can't afford anything anything else.
He was so grateful for the soup and bread, and made a post on FaceBook. I woke up to a bunch of sweet messages. He wants to give me something in exchange, and I'm trying to teach him that a "Thank You" is more than sufficient!!!
I want to do things like that more often.

Well, I called and re-scheduled my appointment with my Ortho Dr. Yesterday and today my knee feels like it did before I had the surgery. Maybe that is why my Ortho in my town wouldn't do the surgery. I can't get in until Nov. 28th. I am so scared that he's going to re-do my surgery. If he does, I pray that he can get it done this year, since my out-of-pocket is met. Otherwise, I may just live with it, unless there is some sort of warranty on the replaced knee. It is pretty depressing!!!

I have a load of laundry in, and I'm heading upstairs to clean and purge. Hopefully, I can get some good progress in my craft room!

Linda, you are truly a wonderful giving lady. Giving to others is always such a blessing for both people. I always feel I get much more out of giving than I could ever give.

So very sorry for what Dave is going through.

Linda - that was a wonderful thing to do for your friend. My MIL could never just say thank you - she always had to try and do something for you. It drove me nuts sometimes.

Joan - what a wonderful picture of your FIL. I KNOW I have a picture of my dad in his uniform (he wasn't in long, he fell and broke his back!). I need to find those pictures and get them in frames or an album. Just another thing I need to do.

I did some cleaning, purging, organizing and laundry today. I have a load of towels that need to be done, but it wasn't a full load so I decided to wait. I'll grab Julie's and that should do it. I had three containers of Sunday school/church/music that I needed to sort through. I went through it all, had a lot of stuff to recycle and the rest is organized and will go back to it's proper home at church. I have a small container in the living room with music and lesson material/plans. It is probably going to stay there. I still have entirely too much STUFF in my house.

I got the new curved shower rod and curtain up, and it looks nice. Wasn't feeling well, so I took a nap. I worked upstairs until my pain was unbearable. I am ready to go back up again. Gosh, I really need to get rid of A LOT of things!!! My pain just won't let me do this anymore!!! But I am pushing on!!!

had a great time today in Pigeon Forge with my friend and he family from Nashville. Her oldest child (6) is still crying as I am typing this because he didnt want me to leave. I was so sad. . When we were in Nashville we hung out a lot. She has 3 kids. I watched them often and I taught the oldest in Prek when I was there so we are very close. We rode the chair lifts in Gatlinburg he had to ride with me the other 2 wanted to but he was so determined he was. lol love the children so much and do miss them. It made me tear up and so did my friend. So hopefully we are planning once a month for them to come up here and hang out so they can see more often.

hope you all had a great day today. I am feeling some better. I just wished it would all go away . Oh well part of woman hood I guess lol.

We picked up Alexander from his dad's to drive him home since we are spending the night in order to see Alexander in his military uniform during the Veterans parade. He will be part of the color guard. It should be a super day for his 14th birthday!

What a great way for Alexander to celebrate his birthday!!! He must be so excited!

Nikki - glad you had such a good time. I enjoy having friends live in different parts of the country so I can visit. However, I don't get to see them nearly as often as I'd like. It's been over 8 years since we've seen our California friends.

Happy Veteran's Day!
Thanks for your service to the USA!

Joanne- I only have one close friend. She lives 45 minutes from me. However, I haven't seen her since July. Our schedules just don't jibe. I wish I could see her.

Linda, I am so sorry to hear that knee is giving you problems. You have really been through so much with it all. And, on top of it making soup for a friend. What a wonderful lady you are!

Joan,I know how hard it is to get together with friends. Seems it is very hard to make plans that work for all. Either work, family things or whatever, seems to come up.

I do like my new job so far. It is going to be stressful, but very satisfying working with the Vets. They are a very special group of people. The people I work with are very nice. So far, so good......

Karen, Thanks for your sweet words.
I am glad your job is going well. I hope and pray that you find it rewarding and you enjoy the people you work with. I know what it's like to work with a job I loved, and another that I hated. When I hated my job, it made every day miserable, just dreading having to go back.

I am in a lot of pain today. I have so much that needs to be done around here, and so much that I want to do. I am going to take a pain pill and do some more work upstairs. I just have to take a lot of breaks. Bob can carry boxes and garbage down for me. He is going to buy my 3rd table for my craft room tomorrow. Hopefully, Bob and my Son-in-law will be able to take the bed out of the room by next weekend, and donate it on FreeCycle.

Caterina, I bet you and Reynold smiled from ear to ear, watching Alexander this morning during the Veteran's Parade. Such a big day for his 14th birthday! You all should be very, very proud!!!

It is a beautiful day here today!!! Quite warm, low humidity, just lovely! What a great day to thank our veterans!!!!

Joan - I wish I lived closer. I do know how hard it is to get together. I have a few friends that, although we try, we rarely get to visit. I always thought that when the kids got older it would get easier, but that hasn't been the case.

Yesterday was such a great day and I accomplished so much. I hope I can repeat that today!!! Or stamp!
