Linda - I hope the dr. has some answers for your knee pain today. Stay positive!!

I'm watching the neighbor boy today. Someone else watched him last week and he cried for the entire 3 hours. He has a blast when he's over here, but I think that's all due to Preston.

I'm trying to get my dad's birthday present in the mail this morning - I have got to stop procrastinating and waiting until the last minute!

We have a busy day today, but most of it is doing nothing. We are waiting for AT&T to show up now. They will be here for 2 to 4 hours doing their thing, hooking us up to U-Verse, a Land-line phone, and Cable. Then, around 1pm, the TV guy will show up to install my new TV in my craft room. It's going to be mounted on the wall, so I can move it all around, and see it from anywhere in the room. Bob painted half of that wall last night the new color, and it looks great this morning. The room still needs a lot of TLC, but it's coming along!!! Bob's on vacation in a week and a half, and we are just hanging out around here. We'll probably Christmas shop, decorate, and work on the house.
Anyway, we go to Springfield this evening to see my surgeon. My husband is going with me, and I'm going to make a list and try to be assertive, to get the answers and results that I need to be able to have a knee that I can walk with, with as little pain as possible!!! We'll have to grab a bite to eat in Springfield, unless I get bad news.
Everyone enjoy your day!!! The sun is shining, and I am staying positive!!!

Good morning, Conrad spent the night and has been playing Club Penguin which he loves. I am amazed how quickly both Conrad & Camron figured out the site and play w/o any assistance.

Here is a chuckle I can relate to....

Hereafter

The preacher came to call the other day. He said at my age I
should be thinking of the hereafter.

I told him, "Oh, I do it all the time. No matter where I am
-- in the parlor, upstairs, in the kitchen, or down in the
basement -- I ask myself, 'Now, what am I here after?'"

I's been a LONG day!!! I got good news at the doctor! Nothing serious is wrong! He was very nice, and answered all my questions. He felt my knee, and felt the problem, so they took several ex-rays. The X-rays were fine. He said that it is probably #1--my peripheral neurapathy, and #2--in surgery, he cuts through quite a few nerves, and it takes at least a full year before everything completely heals. He normally doesn't do anything further until my 1 year anniversary, which is in July. He told me to expect even more pain at times! My nerves are just inflamed! No big deal. I am very relieved!!!

Linda - I was hoping you'd get good news about your knee!

We brought up all the Christmas boxes from the basement last night. We got the tree put up after Preston went to bed and he was so excited when he woke up this morning and saw it! He's obsessed with 'Timmas Trees'.

We're going outside to put up decorations around the house.

I consider my news at the Dr office good news. I can deal with the pain as long as I don't have to have surgery right away!!!

Christmas is so magical when seen through the eyes of a two year old!!! Keep these memories in your heart forever!

Hedgie - I hope you are feeling better soon. This time of year is so stressful and then with not feeling well on top of it - UGH. I have heard from so many friends, just this week, sharing how difficult the holidays are for them. My prayers and thoughts go out to all of them. It's so tough. BIG HUGS to you.

Linda, glad you are taking the news from the doctor good... having had many surgeries, I am with you.

Seeing Christmas through young kids is the best.

Joan, Reynold has only work two days and the bank does not quite have everything in place yet for his job. However, he and I are both grateful for the additional income.

Having worked in government, there is truth to this....

Little Johnny's Pappa

Little Johnny was talking to a couple of boys in the school
yard. Each was bragging about how great his father was.

The first one said, "Well, my father runs the fastest. He
can fire an arrow and start to run. I tell you, he gets
there before the arrow!"

The second one said, "Ha! You think that's fast! My father
is a hunter. He can shoot his gun and be there before the
bullet!"

Little Johnny listened to the other two boys and shook his
head. He then said: "Sorry, dudes, but MY DAD is the
fastest. He's a civil servant. He stops working at 4:30, and
he's home by 3:45!"

Preston had his 2 year check-up yesterday. He was such a good boy! The doctor was impressed that he knows left and right. And, he got the flu mist and didn't even flinch. He's perfectly healthy and doing great!

He only has to go once a year now that he's a big boy.

Chuckle for the day

Larger Bills

I do the water and sewer billing for a small city in
Washington state. Customers complained about our
postcard-sized bills -- which they said looked too much like
junk mail. So we decided to start sending full-sized bills
in envelopes. The month before the switch, I had a note
printed on the cards, announcing the change.

Two days later, I heard someone yelling at our receptionist,
"Is this some kind of joke?" When the customer threw his
bill upon the desk, I saw his point. The note was, "Coming
Soon! New Larger Bills!"

Jennifer - Preston is really a toddler now, not a baby anymore! Still cute as can be!!!

Jen - sorry you aren't feeling great, lazy days are nice once in awhile. You don't have many of those!

I really need to schedule a hair appointment and color. I would love a manicure, but I have had hangnails and pulled at them. So I'm waiting for that to heal.

Usually, i just rub it in while watching TV - another thing that will help your hands is to cover them with vasoline wear gloves and sleep with them. Your hands will feel awesome in the morning.

Jennifer, got to thinking over the past weeks and wondered if we could keep our thread going w/o starting a new one every week. Obviously this is your thread & do not wish to impose, just thought it would be nice to be able to go back sometimes on past posts especially ones that are posted towards the end. Jut a thought... hope it is okay to share this. <3

I am going to put my 2 weeks notice in at Publix tomorrow. I just want my weekends back. Working 6 days is really wearing me out to be honest.

You know, I really don't know how old all of us Misfits are, but I can kind of guess the ones that are younger than me, close to my age, etc.
Anyway,.....I have always felt pretty blessed in having good skin. I think part is hereditary, but I've always taken care of my skin and hair.. I remember when I was real young, I couldn't wait until I could wear makeup. I used to make potions, and play makeup, when other girls had no interest in it.
Anyway, I don't know if it's my age, health issues, stress or what, but I am all of a sudden starting to see myself aging, and I DO NOT LIKE IT ONE BIT ! ! ! You can call me VAIN, because, when it comes to looking old I AM VAIN ! ! !

I think 1 thing is my teeth aren't as white as they used to be. There are several of you that have beautiful white teeth.
Anyway,... I would like all of you that have any ideas, secrets,or anything that you can help me with, please share with me. I have a BIG milestone birthday in a couple of months, and I need all your help!!! Thanks & {{HUGS}}

I just checked out Pinterest before going to bed, and here's what I find:

SKIN CONDITIONER:
Take a small water or similar bottle.
Grate 1 Lemon Zest and pour into bottle
Fill with Cold Pressed Olive Oil
Store on sunny window to use as a wonderful Natural Skin Conditioner

Linda, a lot of it does rely on family genes, am fortunate that my Sicilian grandmothers & mother all had beautiful skin... not a wrinkle on them and all my grandmothers used was soap & water - no make-up. My mom worked as a young woman at a cosmetic counter so she did use creams, etc. on and off.

I am pretty sure I am the oldest here... I use liquid vitamin E on my face along with Bare Minerals neck & skin cream. Since I am home most of the time, do not do much in make up unless I am going somewhere special.

As for teeth, try using Colgate's Optic White which is pretty good. Crest white strips work well too.

Btw, you are an attractive lady!

Olive Oil is truly good for skin... use to tell people, my parents put it in my baby bottle. I do know my family had many uses for it.

You (or anyone!) can always share your thoughts.

I used to start a new thread every week because we had so many posts from so many people. Now that hardly anyone posts, I could probably start a new thread every 6 months. It makes me so sad that so many have dropped out. Maybe it's me, maybe I'm the biggest misfit of all time. I wish I knew.

I don't care, I'll do what the majority wants.
