Nikki - I hope everything works out on the job front and moving for you and DH!
Jen - I'm glad you had a nice date!
I'm sorry your little one was tired from T or T! I hope he feels better soon! Keep us posted!
Hedgie - I hate going to the grocery store, seems like I spend more and more each time I go!
I did get a little Christmas shopping done over the weekend! I'm so excited! Corrie had a few things on her wish list at Walmart for her room makeover she is doing! So I picked some up when she went to the movies with a friend!
I have a few more ideas for Christmas gifts, but really need to get busy!
did anyone look at the tutorial for the pop up gift card holder on the home page? Have you done one?? they look really cute! My mom is giving gift cards this year since she can't do much shopping due to her knee, so I thought I could make her some!
I'm going to put it on my do list for this weekend!

Sherry, how sweet of you to make gift cards for your mom. Sorry about her knee pain and hope today will be a good day for her.
While working as a radiology technician in a hospital
emergency room, I took x-rays of a trauma patient. I brought
the films to our radiologist, who studied the multiple
fractures of the femurs and pelvis.
"What happened to this patient?" he asked in astonishment.
"He fell out of a tree," I reported.
The radiologist wanted to know what the patient was doing up
a tree.
"I'm not sure, but his paperwork states he works for Bob's
Expert Tree Service."
Gazing intently at the x-rays, the radiologist blinked and
said, "Cross out 'Expert.'"
I just wanted to pop in a minute to say "hi". I've been having some blah days. I finally got over the real bad stomach stuff, but November is usually bad for me emotionally. I need to make more effort to visit with all you fabulous Misfits more often, and I'm sure it would lift my mood!!!
I will read over last week's posts, so I can see what's been happening with everyone. Talk to you all later!!! Everyone have a great Monday!!!
Hi all. Still miserable and Bill is sick now, too. He slept until 10 this morning. Unheard of for him. He is napping now, too. Neither of us can talk without coughing!
Linda - yes, this group is great for cheering you up. HUGS.
Sherry - I just saw that tutorial. I'll have to check it out myself!

Linda, always wonderful to have you pop in... sending lots of sunshine hugs your way.
Happy day for me! I've lost 15.6 pounds and someone at work today looked at me and said, "Wow you are losing a lot of weight!".
I am close to my Dec. 15th goal of 20 pounds. I'll tackle the next 30 come Jan - that goal is by August.
I'm exhausted with the time change and still not sleeping well. Grrrr!

Went to drop off some happy mail to some sweet Cole kids and was about to head home when I can across this sweet little girl standing on the corner of a busy street all alone. Drove past but then turned my car around feeling concerned. Coincidentally, another woman going the opposite way, pulled in the same time with the same concerns. Talked with the little girl to find out why she was there while the other woman called the police. The school bus just left her there where her dad usually comes to pick her up. Both of us decided we were going to stay with her until either the police or her father showed up. Her dad got there first and she immediately was happy to see him, he thanked us, however, she put herself in the car seat without buckling up. Would have thought her dad would have done that for her.
This world is way too evil to leave such a sweet baby girl alone.

Liz- congrats to the band. I enjoyed the youtube video.
Joanne- Sorry that you and Bill are both ill.
Jen- Wow 15 pounds is a lot. Congratulations.
Sherry- I haven't even thought about Christmas.
Caterina- I would have stopped as well. God thing her dad came. I agree the dad should have strapped her into the car seat.
Jen - congrats on the weight loss. I am very jealous! Of course, I've done nothing about it the last couple of weeks. That is wonderful!
Caterina - you certainly did the right thing. Nice to see another woman feeling the same way. Around here the buses are not supposed to drop kids without a parent at the stop. I doubt many parents are actually there tho. I know I used to wait at the front door - the bus stop being across the street.

Joanne, my heart just would not let me leave such a sweet little baby girl all alone like that. Cannot imagine the school bus driver leaving her there. It was nice to have another woman stop as well and we got to talking. Her son has a form of autism and, of course, I told her about Coles Foundation. Maybe she will sign up for a site for her son.
Here is a funny from tonight. After we finished dinner Bill and I sat down in the living room coughing away. Julie and Marie were in the kitchen, feeding the dogs. I hear Julie say "can't I just go downstairs and spend some time with my sister?". Maybe Bill and I should be sick together more often. LOL Just kidding of course!!!!
I have worked very hard for those 15 pounds. They were not easy. I was starving the first 4 weeks. Now my body has adjusted and my stomach is shrinking. (Thank goodness - the first 2 weeks were awful.) I have completely revamped my diet/lifestyle. It's not easy. But I keep telling myself that nothing tastes as good as thin feels. And they are right. I have jeans that I could not wear last winter that are too big for me now. It feels AWESOME! I am actually down 30 pounds from last winter/sping/my divorce trial. Those first 15 just flew off once the stress was gone - I wasn't even dieting.
So, I am wanting to get some Fiestaware - new dishes. My dishes are from my marriage and while I do know that it's kind of wasteful, eating on dishes that remind me of him every night isn't good (I'll either keep them for emergencies or freecycle them.) So, trying to decide all one color or multiple colors, looking at sales, etc. I asked the kids what color they would want if they got to pick a set or two. My pick is paprika, Drew picked black (!! seriously, it's his favorite color. I told him no, so he picked chocolate - which I love) and Jack picked peacock blue. I also love the marigold and lemongrass. Still thinking......Winter is the time to buy new dishes, as it's not "wedding season" so they go on sale.

Friends of mine got all different colors. She literally just has a little bit of each. Probably not the answer YOU are looking for though! they are so pretty!
It IS a beautiful day, Caterina. Absolutely gorgeous. I have windows open all over the house. Hoping to shoo away the germs! And enjoy this while we can. It is November. And we HAVE already had snow! LOL
What are your plans for Thanksgiving? Staying home, cooking, going elsewhere?
We have not made any plans, would love to do a couple of things but not sure. One year we went to Helping Up Mission to serve the people there which was one of the best experiences. With my shoulder/arm pain, don't think that is an option.
I will be alone on Thanksgiving. I don't have the kids and I can't go to NJ because the creep is unwilling to flip weekends with me. Nice, huh?! So, I think I am going to see if I can donate my time at a soup kitchen too. Gotta get on that. If they are all full of helpers, I might run/walk a 5K. Maybe I'll do both! LOL

Jen, sorry you will be alone and hope you are able to find a mission, soup kitchen, etc to donate your time. Have done something like that a couple of times and have such great memories doing it.
DONE! I am serving lunch and food prep (?) at the soup kitchen from noon until 2 pm and again from 2 - 4 pm. Might have to change one of them, but that should work. Then I can come home exhausted and go to bed! LOL

Good for you!! Wish I could join you!! Be sure to let us know how your time there goes.
Joan - thinking of you. I'll look for you later online.
Our plans for the holiday include driving again. I usually hate traveling over Thanksgiving, but we had such a great visit with Bill's sisters. So we are doing that again. We have a little less flexibility due to Julie's school schedule. We'll drive to my parents Tues, leave Wed for the next half of the trip (2 1/2 hrs). Then we'll see his sisters Wed./Thurs. We'll drive back to my parents Thanksgiving evening. Stay with them until Saturday. I do not want to drive home with everyone else on Sunday.
So another guy emailed and asked me to read his profile, he was interested in me. I wrote a brief note back, and included something he had written about honesty/not playing games..... said I agreed with that view.
His response was: I do not understand your email. Where did the honesty/not playing games come from?
I responded that I was agreeing with what he had written in his profile! about his wishes for a relationship! Ah! I can't win for trying.....I think I am going to give up. I can't stand this.

Yikes, that guy should check his profile or better yet be more truthful... goodness, Hedgie, so grateful you "caught him" before making any date. Don't give up, sweetie, you are a very beautiful lady inside and out and deserve a really GOOD guy. I believe God has someone special for you and will show up when you least expect it. That is exactly what happen with Reynold and me.

Either he totally forgot what he had written, is dense, or just wanted an out? In any event, I think that will be my last note to him...Going to try another route in the future if I even decide I want a relationship.
Hedgie - I agree with Caterina. You are a very special person. I've had several people tell me they had given up on even trying to date and the right person came along. You just never know.
I found out that the service for my neighbor isn't until next Saturday (the 19th). I wonder why so late? As far as I know, all her family is here. For me, that would be even harder to deal with - waiting for the final goodbye.
