I love it there and the people are so sweet and caring as well.
Isn't it nice when people notice and comment? I'm glad. You deserve the recognition.

Morning all!

I had a med check for my BP today. They are working all is good. The scale at the doctor's office was NOT my friend today. It has me a good 6 lbs. more than what I weighed on my own scale this morning. Last time I was there, it showed 2 lbs. less than what I weighed at home! I am not going to worry about it though. I'm still plugging away. It will take awhile, I have a lot to lose.

Joanne, it took a few months for me to find the right dose for me as it takes time to build up in your body. How long did you take it and what kind of dosage?

I think it's just you and I Cat. I take 20 Mg every night. It's awesome!!! A lot of people don't take enough, or give it enough time. I do take an antidepresant that my Dr prescribes that helps too.

I took a similar dose to yours, but maybe only for two months. Marie was using it for awhile. It worked for a bit for her, but then it stopped. Maybe I'll try it again.

My antidepressant doesn't really help me sleep. But it does what it is supposed to do so I'm not complaining!!!

It looks like the Yankees might be done for the season. I know Jen is disappointed, but I am NOT a Yankee fan.

I spent the afternoon in my craft room again! I had two open packages of Scrappin' kits from Stampin' Up. I decided to make a few 6x6 scrapbook pages. I ended up making 2 each of several pages. I am trying to decide if I'll put my own pictures in (there might be some cute ones of the girls when they were little). Or I could give them as gifts or package them for my cousin to sell at a craft fair. Not sure yet.

Stopped at the post office to mail off a donation box of scrapbook supplies. It cost me $23!!!! I am definitely looking for a local place next time.

If you are extra stressed, you may have to increase the dose. Sometimes I change the dosage.

Me too Jo. My daughter was home last week and asked, Mom is your scale right? She said she thinks it is weighing 5 lbs light. So when I was at my heaviest, I actually weighed 5 lbs more! Now, am not down as low as I thought! She is sure because she recently weighed herself on a good scale at her health club place.

In any event, I have lost, just not at the number I thought I was at. My pants are starting to feel loose. Also a good sign.... Hang in there....it is a process, a loooong process!

The world is going to come to an end. I have worn make-up two Fridays in a row. I used to ALWAYS wear makeup. But a few years ago when my allergies started acting up I had to stop wearing my contacts and eye makeup. Since I stopped doing eye makeup I usually only use moisturizer (although sometimes tinted). I just got tired of it always being rubbed off when I sneezed, wiped my eyes or whatever!!!

Hedgie - I had several people tell me to just use my scale numbers. It is what we have and base everything on. So I'm sticking with that!!!

Jennifer - a day in the park sounds lovely. I'm glad you have the opportunity!

My daughter's surgery is over, it went well and she is on her way home.

Alexander is here with us until tomorrow. Camron, Conrad & Danny came to visit and they played the game, Sorry... Camron won, he usually does.

Caterina - glad your daughter's surgery went well.

Play date was so fun - the boys are only 6 weeks apart and they play so well together. We pretty much had the whole playground to ourselves which was nice. And, Preston did not fall in the duck pond

Great commercial!

Nikki - you have been busy. Sounds like a great weekend to me!

Jennifer - glad Preston didn't fall in the pond!

More proof the world is coming to an end. MARIE went with us for pictures. Not only that, but the photographer said he had plenty of free time that if we wanted to come back with the dogs he would take pics with them. We got good pictures and spent a lot of money to get some for us and family. I even ordered photo Christmas cards. I have been very behind in my Christmas card challenge, so this will let me off the hook this year. I will still send some out to my SCS friends, but I have enough photo cards to mail to others. Relief.

Today is the anniversary of my Dad's death. He's been gone 25 years now. He died sensly when he was 62. No one really knows the total cause of how he died. My parents were divorced, and Dad was an alcoholic. We do know that he had had a couple TIAs in the weeks before he died. His father had died from a heart attack. Anyway, Dad was on his way home from his favorite bar he drank at, at about 7pm. He was on a highway, that was parallel to a train track, that was up on a hill. For some reason, my dad's car left the road and went up the hill. He straddled the train track, and followed it for a while. Something caused his car to swerve off the tracks, where he had a steep decline into a freshly cut corn field. He hit the ground with the front of his car, in which he hit his head. His car's catalytic converter caught on fire, and Dad died from smoke inhalation. We hoped his autopsy would give us clues to why he died. Did he have a stroke, a heart attack, pass out drunk, swerve to miss a deer??? His alcohol read very high, but Dad had been an alcoholic for many years. All we found out was that he died from smoke inhalation. At least he didn't kill anyone else!
My brother called me, while I was making a Halloween costume. I've never cared for halloween since then. I try to remember before my parents started drinking. There are some happy memories. I try to hold on to those.

I had a doctor appointment today to talk to the Dr about my Cholesteral. I figured I had also gained weight. I never weigh at home. Well, I lost another 7 pounds. She said she couldn't understand my cholesteral. Well, my terrible memory,...I hadn't refilled my meds for 3 months!!! i am embarrassed to tell haow bad it was!!!
Trglycerides---438mg
Cholesterol---344mg
HDL---44MG

She said she was in shock because I have always had perfect readings.
I got my meds today, and started it. I go back to see her in 3 months.

My prescription changed ever-so-slightly, but it made a huge difference. So I understand. Of course, I got my first bi-focals, too.

And FYI - my dad is 89 today!

And FYI - my dad is 89 today!
I need to get my eyes checked asap....my $500 glasses broke. Will never invest that much again in glasses. I have had them in for repairs 5 times in a year...and it was a UW system clinic!

I already have the bifocal thing Jo. My problem is that I can't adjust....so I get a pair for distance, a pair for readers, and a pair for the computer!
Any ideas of how to find a reliable place with good prices??

Hedgie - you can get glasses online for pretty cheap, if you have your measurements of pupil to nose or whatever it's called.

Beautiful day for the breast cancer walk! 3.5 miles. My friend and I pulled away from the group and were one of the first to finish. They had NE clam chowder after the walk. Yum!

Jen- the chowder sounds good... it would be worth the walk. I am happy that you did this!

Linda- how are you feeling lately.

Hedgie- sorry about the glasses. I only wear cheaters for reading. Dh gets his from work. Therefore, I know nothing about buying glasses.

It was fun and a beautiful day. I walked with someone from book club whom I do not know very well. It was nice to get to know her!

We've been the top fundraising team since we started. My friend is a doctor, as is her husband. Strong family history. Her mom died of ovarian cancer and both she and her sister are gene positive. She gave the survivor talk last year and this year we led the walk. A local restaurant provided the chowder, a local grocery chain supplied water (nice to see 2 water stops on the course too!), Stonyfield Farms (a NH company - just 10 minutes away from me) provided the yogurt and Panera provided baked goods and bread. Some were day-old, but my kids didn't mind once I heated it up (I brought my dessert home for them.)

My friend and I are on a mission to lose 10 pounds by Christmas. Anyone want to join in the fun?!
