Wouldn't you know?...I had a 3 month checkup with my Dr yesterday, and was also going to talk to her about my stomach bug issues. Yesterday, I felt fine!!! Last night and today, I started cramping again,....grrrrrr!!!!

The good news is, that I have lost 40 pounds total now, my blood pressure was great, and my A1C has gone from 7.1 to 5.6.....
I was holding my breath, as I have been awful on checking my glucose!!! I must be doing something right, I guess!!! I asked the nurse what the AIC reading is when they consider you diabetic, and she said 6.0. So, my reading is great!!! I was happy!!!

If I still feel puny on Monday, I will call the Dr. I am TIRED of running to the bathroom!!!

I will write more later!!! Everyone have a GREAT weekend!!!

Jennifer- have fun!
Heather- So very happy to see you!
Joanne- Are things better?
Jen- Hope the last days of testing went well! Are you feeling better?
Linda- So happy for your weight loss. That is super! I agree that you should call the DR if you are not feeling good on Monday!
Hedgie- Sorry the day was so sad for you! However, your move was for all the right reasons.
I received and e-mail about dh's niece. Sue is still in a coma. They do expect her to pull through. Now my FIL is not doing well. He went to the urologist. He was catheterize. He won't stay at the hospital because my MIL would not do well without him. This is a lot for my DH to handle with all his other issues.

Testing is done thank goodness!! I hate it. To have to sit there and watch kids struggling and getting all the answers wrong and you have to smile and say, "great job!". UGH.

Pouring here since yesterday. All practices cancelled, though my oldest is making a catapult at Scouts with my dad who drove up yesterday.

Some health stuff going on with little guy. Not sure if it's heart related - we need to investigate lungs (asthma), blood (mono, lyme, anemia) and see if anything pans out.

Won't be around much this weekend - games in the am, then heading up north for a 3 hr drive to a pig roast ( friend from heart support group - her son and my little one have the same condition, though he is much sicker).

Have a great one everyone!

I hear you on the overwhelming, Hedgie! It does happen.

I have had a stupid headache all day. I have done nothing. Laid in bed most of the day because it hurt. Now I'm even farther behind than I was before.

Hedgie - he has a marked decrease in stamina with physical exertion over the past month. Some shortness of breath. Concerning. He cannot keep up with kids and he used to be at the front of the pack.

Oh, I forgot to report that the Topamax that my doctor put me on a couple of months ago is apparently at a good dosage for me, and working great. I haven't had a migraine in over 3 weeks!!! It seems like a miracle to me!!! Such a relief!!! I can handle a lot more stress, and all that life throws me when I don't have daily migraines!!!

Remind me what his heart condition is? Good idea to have some tests done. Could be heart or lungs or a bit of both?
I a sure you are worried. I will be praying. I hope you have a fun time this weekend, you deserve it!

Linda, this is great! This must improve the quality of your life so much.
I went in and had my meds tweaked a couple of weeks ago. Oh my, I am feeling so much better! Everything looks different, grass is greener, sky is bluer, etc...

Linda - that is GREAT news. I am going to have to talk to my doctor about my headaches and my complete lack of energy and being so tired all the time.

That is wonderful news about your weight and the AC1 levels!!!! I am terribly afraid to find out what my numbers are - I have not been good.

(sorry, I had originally posted congrats to hedgie on the test results - obviously, I don't have my head on straight tonight)

Hi ladies-
Update on DH's niece- She is awake. She punctured a lung, broke some ribs, perforated the wall of the stomach and uterus. The drs hope to move her out of ICU tomorrow.
Linda- So happy the migraines are gone.
Joanne- I wish the dr could help you more.
Jen- Good idea to get all the testing done on your little guy. Have fun at the pig roast.

We have Camron & Conrad over for the night.

Btw, Alexander's dad will be running a marathon in Baltimore tomorrow and has raised over $3,000 for Alzheimer's research in honor of his nana. Hope he has a great run and will look forward to seeing his pictures. He said 'he did not pick the outfits'.

Afternoon - BEAUTIFUL day, a bit windy.

I'm just getting started on my day. I have a lot to do and have to figure out where to start. Laundry is probably the best best. Our bedroom is a disaster, too. So, it may be a combination of those two things.

Hope Alexander does well in the marathon!!!

Oh - I have to make a birthday card for my dad for his 88th birthday!

DH and I just came home from the Diabetes Expo. We took the bus. DH decided it was better than trying to drive and then find and pay for parking in downtown Minneapolis. We received free bus passes. The bus ride was 85 minutes each way plus walking time. Dh and I got lots of valuable info from nutritionists, podiatrists, fitness coaches, etc. His A1C was the highest it has ever been. I have been telling him eating at all those fast food places is not good, Hopefully today was a wake up for him.

Wow, your Dad is 88! Mine is 84! Let's hope we live that long!! What do you buy a guy in his 80's? Well my Dad likes Walmart gift cards and Barnes and Nobles gift cards for his weekly walk to the bookstore. He uses it for a fancy coffee drink he likes!

Nikki - I cannot deal with urinary tract infections. The pain is unbearable for me. My doctor has been great about calling in meds for me, but I've had so many that I know immediately what the problem is. My neighbor had a UTI but didn't know it. I have never understood that!

Cat - friends of ours that we know from the beach ran in the marathon today, too! She had her best time yet!

Hedgie - for my dad this year we got him an inverter! Exciting right. Since they had lost power and had problems with water in their basement we debated about getting them a generator or an inverter. We went with the latter - Dad can hook it up to the car battery and run the sump pump. That is what they are most worried about. A general is so heavy and hard to move that would have been more of a problem.

Joan - I'm so happy your neice is doing so well! I will say a prayer tonight for her!

Jen - I hope you had a great time at the cook out! Prayers for your little guy that he feels better soon!

I got up this morning, started some laundry and just piddled around the house for a bit, picking up, etc. Then Corrie and I hit a few garage sales. She made out, she found several things and I found........NOTHING!

I grocery shopped, put it all up and then had a short nap! Haven't accomplished a ton this afternoon, but oh well!

Have a great SAturday night!

Well managed to survive the boys - they enjoyed going to the park to feed the ducks. They are so precious with so much energy.

Thought this was funny...

The Swiss have an interesting army. Five hundred years without a war. Pretty impressive. Also, pretty lucky for them. Ever see that little Swiss Army knife they have to fight with? Not much of a weapon there. Corkscrews. Bottle openers. "Come on, buddy, let's go. You get past me, the guy in back of me, he's got a spoon. Back off. I've got the toe clippers right here."

I watched as a child, many documentaries about the Swiss. It is one of those places I want to visit...I want to meet Heidi and her gpa!

Hi Karen- I have the same dream as a child... I wanted to go and visit Heidi and her grandpa.
Nichole- I drink cranberry juice. They now sell a low sugar one.
DH, DS#!, DS#2, DIL and I just came home from a pre-wedding reception. The couple is getting married October29th in Barbados. I won't even tell you how much I ate. Just tooo much. Remember A while ago when I was making the scrap book page, it was for this couple.
Sherry- Please keep the prayers coming. Dh's niece suffered a stroke during surgery. The drs do expect her to recover. She will be moved from ICU as soon as she is stable.

happy Sunday to you all

i feel better today so not sure what exactly that feeling was yesterday but hope you all have a great day today. i am going to work on some swaps and also the 29th i have some friends at work that wanted to learn how to make cards. so i have to cut some supplies for that. i was going to do it at my house, but when other coworkers heard about it i was like well we might as well do it at work. so we have a lot more room, it just means i will have to PACK up all my stuff but its ok.

Nikki - that sounds like fun - but I hear you about having to remember everything when you pack it up!

Had a lovely morning at church. Some new kids/visitors which is always nice. I'm enjoying it again and am very thankful for that!
