No rest for the wicked. A 10 hour day, full speed, no lunch. Luckily I had my leg elevated most of the time. But as you know, everybody thinks they need to call the MD on Friday afternoon, due to the weekend ahead!

Given I was alone, the sick ones for sure got taken care of. But, I did leave some non urgent issues for Monday. I had to do a bit of walking, I did have a complex injection to give-requires about 1/2 hour of mixing and prep($1200 a vial!)...but I did the best I could to hobble and not put pressure on that foot.

After work I picked up an Ace sock for my ankle so I can stop using the long roll, and doing the wrap thing. I have 3 regular Ace bandages, one has lost it's stretch... and I am tired of the wrapping/unwrapping etc... They only had one of the nifty sock styles, as they are on sale. Will go back for more if it works.

Home now....decompressing. Will just let it all go and rest tonight. Tomorrow, only laundry and a trip to the post office. That is it.

I hope everyone is happy it is TGIF! I know I am!

The humidity is sufflocating here. If your air is not on, you are either sneezing, SOB or feeling very sticky in an icky way. We have had rain today and more tomorrow. I still have to catch up on what we expect. I have heard further south they are having tornados!

Currently the rain has stopped. Going outside for long, would surely put me into a migraine --as it did earlier in the week. It was the worst migraine I have had in years. Severe pain, nausea, etc...Did not need it.

DD in Denver reports there is a possible forecast of snow in Denver?? Not sure how current that is, as the message I received was yesterday. But wow, talk about weird percipitation this year!

Always love your cards, Joan. You are amazing!

Hedgie - I heard snow in parts of the west/Midwest, too. Our temps are in the 80s and tomorrow and Sunday it will be even warmer. Good thing I didn't put away my summer clothes! And I went to the store and bought a sweater today! Actually TWO! Doesn't seem right, but I had my eye on them before.

Lots of things I need to do. Hope I can get in the mood tomorrow.

Thanks Joanne!

My niece just sent me a snow picture form Rapid City, SD. Her yard looks like a winter wonderland.

Morning. I have so much to do today and can't get started! Typical, right?

Joan - I saw pictures of Denver snow, but I'm sure SD pics are gorgeous, too. What crazy weather. We're still in the 80s (with some humidity, but not too awful) at least today and tomorrow. Then rain and cooler temps, but not cold.

I had a dream last night that we woke up to snow this morning. Must have combined my dreams with the pictures on the news last night.

Jennifer - do you have snow?

I'm not sure where in Colorado,...mainly north, I think. North Dakota got over 40 inches, and quite a few reported dead. A tragic, early storm!!!

We are supposed to get rain on Wednesday with highs in low 60's. After N. Dakota, I'm not complaining!!!

Hedgie- I thought the news reported snow in Denver and the mountain areas yesterday/last night. I wonder if I was half asleep and didn't get it right.

I need a few zip up sweatshirts, nice wash and wear fabric, kind of longish, not those shortish things for Jrs.

I have looked around, can not find anything. I just want navy and black sweats. Does anyone have any ideas of where I can find them? I want to be able to put on and off.

While I was home, I found a great crock pot recipe author that tells you how to freeze many meals easily (like 40 in one day/which I do not need), thaw overnight and stick in crock pot while you are at work.

I plan to choose a few of the recipes and do so this week. The idea is something I never thought of. Freezing uncooked meals that are ready to go, with seasonings and such.

I think walking into my condo with food smells is great when I do use my crockpot... and/or love when I know I have fabulous leftovers!! Both are in my future!

That is a great idea, Hedgie. I saw something like that on some show, too. I love using my crockpot. Marie likes it but she says it tempts her all day long!

I hope you hear from your daughter soon.

It did get below freezing last night here and there was frost on the rooftops. We even turned the heater on for the first time last night. I brought all of my flowers in the garage and I covered up my garden - haven't checked it today to see if it survived.

We drove to another town today and went to their Apple Day Festival and Parade. It's a tiny town and it was fun to walk around, taste the apples and look at the booths. Preston had fun waving to EVERYONE in the parade. We stopped at an apple farm on the way home and did a hayride and got a little pumpkin for my pumpkin. Beautiful weather and a wonderful day!

We went to an apple festival a few years ago. It WAS fun. I'm glad you did that today, Jennifer. Sounds like a great. I need to get pumpkins.

Hedgie- I bet they would bring you a pumpkin. I had little pumpkins one year. Those were the few that grew from our seeds! We have four or five little ones. They were so cute!

Lazy day here. Spent the day at Jim's watching football but now I'm home. We both fell asleep. He on his couch, me on the other. LOL Perfect for a dark and rainy day and a boring Patriots game. Glad to be with my kids but Sunday evenings always remind me of work and everything I have to do/get done.

Jen- I don't look forward to Sunday evenings either. I never get a good nights rest then. I get worried about tomorrow and what I need to do and how fast I am going to have to work, etc.

Youngest DS stopped by on his way home from a wedding in Northern MN. We discussed politics, religion and education. We don't agree on everything. I like to see things through his young eyes.

Joan and Jen - I used to hate Sunday evenings. When I was working, it was the start of a new work week. When the girls were in school, it was getting them up and moving. Marie never wanted to get going. It is easier now, but I still don't really like Mondays. Does anyone? Unless that is their day off!

Another hot, humid day here. The air has been running for three days. Tomorrow things should break and be nicer. Rain coming in late in the day into early Tuesday. Then it might be nice again. I should try to clean my windows. You all can remind me of that when you see me here!

Nikki - you are always busy! I'm glad you get to see your family as often as you do.

Don't know if I mentioned it but we'll be going to NY in two weeks. My dad's 90th birthday is the 20th. I'm so, so thankful he's doing so well. His back still bothers him a little, but mostly he is getting tired when he tries to do things. I'm sure it is because he wasn't able to do anything for months and getting his 'umphf' back isn't going to be easy.

Good morning! Busy weekend with Camron & Conrad who now have bikes here to ride. Funny thing was that they mostly played with some rubber snakes that we got at the dollar store. We had the snakes hanging on the fig tree hoping to keep the squirrels away... did not work, however the boys spent hours enjoying them.

Glad those Dollar Stores snakes came in handy for those cute boys! That is funny!

I saw the picture you posted of Athena as a five year old! How sweet. I, too, wonder where the time goes. It's one thing with my own children, and another to see the kids I babysat for having children entering high school! YIKES!

Apparently, there is a tornado watch in effect from the DC area on north. We've had a few showers already and a few guest of wind. I hope the tornadoes stay away. Stay safe all my friends in the watch area!

It is a cool comfortable day. I love this type of fall weather.

I am tired but not sleepy. I think I will go for a walk and see if that helps.

I'm exhausted. Had my first fight/disagreement with my BF. I hate drama! Also had the dentist this afternoon which I hate. Have two shadows on a watch. I really need to use a rinse because all my problems are between my teeth.

We are doing state testing the next two weeks. Shoot me now!

Jen - do NOT envy you with the testing. Don't get me started on how I feel about that!

Our storms went through, it is much cooler outside so I've opened the windows. What do you bet the allergies will act up! LOL I just looked outside and it is a weird pink color out there.
