Cat - I have been very disappointed that President's day has lumped together the birthdays. It also seems they talk about ALL President's! I try to point out on the 12th and the 22nd that these are Lincoln and Washington's birthdays!!!!

I agree with you - it seems that most children do not fully understand what an incredible man George Washington was, along with so many of our founding fathers. When I worked for Dr. Tim LaHaye, he wrote an awesome book called Faith of our Founding Fathers. The research done on the book amazed me with facts that I did not even know - I try to teach my grandchildren as much as I can.

There was a list of the top 5 presidents on CNN. Reagan was #1 and Jack looked at me and said GW should be #1!

Yep, that's just where we go.......it's great we just drop off our bags and go around with no

cool looking stain glass display something different.

CT part of the trip is off my GF forgot there was something planned already we'll work out something. Trying my sister but not easy to connect with her???? maybe just stay
in town most of Friday too???

Joan How RUDE of all those that wouldn't help!!!!! But glad you got to your destination safely!!!! I hate driving in it these days some people just drive like idiots.

As for Presidents the kids learn some in at least the 1st grade...My DS was really interested
back then..There is a really good website that has tons of info on each President...
Oh and Cat was it you That pointed out the Eagle webcam from Norfolk Botanical Gardens last year???? Any way it's AWESOME You should all check it out....The pair has 3 eggs and there's all sorts of info, chat etc...very cool especially for kids.

Morning (by two minutes)! It is sunny but I was NOT prepared for the 10 degrees this morning! I had a coat but no gloves when I drove Julie to school - it was COLD!!!!

Two of the three dogs are sleeping in sunbeams in the living room. The other coerced me into putting her in a chair (she is older and the vet said she shouldn't jump). They all seem quite happy and content!

I think I'm going to stamp this afternoon. Or clean up in my stamp room. I can't ever seen to get it just right. And it never stays neat!

Yesterday was Valentine's Day for me and my mama. I wanted to make her a special dinner and it worked out best to do it yesterday.

I made:

Pear/blue cheese/pine nut salad
Baked tomatoes
Dijon Ham Braid
White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

She loved it all! We had a handsome gentleman join us for dinner

Fun!

I just ate my white/spinach pizza. Oh yum. Worth every calorie and the $20 it costs! My splurge for the week!

Marie and I just got back from the grocery store. I had eaten the last of Julie's chips with my sandwich at lunch. I was also the one who finished her last snack so I decided I had better replace everything before she got home!!

OH - good news about our blue van!!!! Bill picked it up and talked with the mechanic. It is still under warranty from the a/c unit we had put in last year! Woo hoo!!!!! Unfortunately, the mechanic did do some work (which we will still happily pay for) so he wasted a little time, but we should be able to get this taken care of! I'm happy. Julie was okay with the fact that she might not have air conditioning, but it will be nice if it works.

Oh Jen.... I can remember the emotions. Go thru things carefully. I threw away some personal things I wish I had now! Is dad there too?

Hugs to you!
Joanne- You have been having busy days. Try and relax a bit!

Our girls hockey teams is playing in the State Tournament! The girls are really nice to me. Good luck!

Nope, I did it myself. Mostly clothes, so nothing emotional there really, though I am feeling really tired and a bit sad, I guess.

Now sipping some wine, ate some good cheese, nuts, olives, etc.

Preston and I went to the library to return a book this afternoon. Earlier today there was a tow truck driver that was dragged to his death close by. I had to take that road home and there was a streak of red blood down the road for almost a mile. It ended with a pile of the mans clothes laying in the road. Very gross - I don't want that image in my head. What a horrible way to go.

I just watched the news to get the full story about what happened. Very tragic, very sad. The man was getting ready to tow a car at an apartment complex and the owner of the car came out and sped off to avoid being towed. The man got tangled in the chains and was dragged for over a mile. It was a young female driver and it's unclear whether or not she knew there was someone behind the vehicle. Either way, it's an awful situation. 2 kids are now without a father.

It was on a major road that I travel often. I'll never forget what I saw today.

So today is Thursday. Really looking forward to TGIF! I'd love to spend the next week, all week in my craft room with no one bothering me, but you and I know that won't happen! Real life calls.

So how is your day going?

Good Morning!

Jennifer - I am so sorry for that tow driver! that is awful!

Liz - I would love to have a week to just stamp too!
I did buy a few pieces of very pretty paper yesterday to make a few Easter cards. I made one card a couple of days ago and really loved the way it turned out. I'll try to take a picture and upload!

Jen - Thinking of you! hang in there!

Joanne - so glad the van repairs weren't too much! that is always nice when it is cheaper than you think!

I think my best friend from Lubbock will be up this weekend! Yea! It will be great to see her! I also have a little going away party for a friend here at work! Other than that, I'm hoping to get some stamping done and laundry of course!

Have a great day!

Hi girls.

I went to check out a gym today. Some friends want to give me 10 sessions with a personal trainer. I am not sure I am comfortable with gyms. Not sure at all. I'm feeling so stressed and anxious and sad. I just don't think it is for me.

Joanne~take the sessions with PT. You will learn alot and remember, the PT will be with you to show how to properly use the machines. The members are focusing on themselves and not you!

Good for you! You should at least try it out - you may even like it!

I've decided I'm quitting Curves. I'm just not going enough to justify paying a membership. It makes me sad to do that, but I think it's best.

Jennifer - it is REALLY difficult with a newborn. If you let the membership go, you can always join again. When Preston is a little bit older.

I could go when my mama comes over after work, I just don't enjoy going at night. And that's when she takes him and I can start dinner or get some things done. I want to start taking Preston on walks - that would be good for both of us.

Having a baby means a lot of adjustments, as you already know!!! I wouldn't want to go at night either. I figure I will go when the place is the least crowded - as I have that flexibility right now. Middle of the day is probably going to be when I go!

He ate too much regular food yesterday - food that I don't think was appropriate for a one year old. Very strong raw milk cheese - which would be OK, but not as much as he had.

Take the sessions! You will be very happy that you did! The trainer will really teach you how to use some weights correctly and a good one will also give you some simple exercises to do at home. With the nice weather coming it's a great way to kick off a new workout routine!

There are all shapes and sizes at gyms. No one is going to notice you...and if they do they'll be thinking, "look at her go - good for her!" As heavy as I am when I do triathlons there are always people saying go, you can do it, etc. And if not, they're jerks. There is a commaraderie amongst athletes/people working out.

Joanne- I agree give it a try. However, I certainly know how you feel. Wish I had someone to go to the Y or Curves with me. I can use the stationary bike at work on some afternoons but it is hard with students in there.
Jen- I hope the baby eats better today! Take care of yourself. How are the boys handling the situation?
Hi to everyone else.
