Default ***Misfit Monday (9-1-13)***

HAPPY SEPTEMBER!!!!!!!!! This is my favorite time of year and I can't wait for all the Fall stuff to begin - pumpkins, falling leaves, cooler weather, apple cider and everything that comes with the season.

My mama and I went to see the hot air balloons yesterday morning (Robert was working). We then went out to breakfast and then to the pool. She's never been there and had a blast! She LOVED the big water slide - it made me happy to make her so happy. We ended the night by watching the fireworks that were rescheduled from July. She offered to watch P overnight so we had some nice alone time.

It's a bit too breezy for the balloons to go off this morning, so we'll try to go again tomorrow. We'll go make a relaxing breakfast and then go pick up our little man. We want to go do something fun today, but not sure what. Swimming, state fair, splash park, North Pole....

Chuckle for the day...

Walking On Course
==================

The room was full of pregnant women and their partners, and the Lamaze class was in full swing.

The instructor was teaching the women how to breathe properly, along with
informing the men how to give the necessary assurances at this stage of the
plan.

The teacher then announced, "Ladies, exercise is good for you.
Walking is especially beneficial. And, gentlemen, it wouldn't hurt you to
take the time to go walking with your partner!"

The room really got quiet.

Finally, a man in the middle of the group raised his hand.

"Yes?" replied the teacher.

"Is it all right if she carries a golf bag while we walk?"

Caterina- MEN! That sounds so typical! LOL

Jennifer - I'm sure you will think of something fun to do today.

It is so warm and humid, I don't know that we'll do much. We'll see.

Today was the perfect end to a great summer. Great day at the beach with good friends, great conversation and lots of laughs. The kids all had fun and we ended the day with lobster, of course!! Photo on FB!

I had a magical Saturday night last weekend, Lobster flown in from Boston ( which is superior to what we get here, Jen)...steak, corn on the cob and Door County Cherry Cobbler...

I was so overwhelmed... such a great gesture from DD's BF's parents.

I know I can't even attempt to reciprocate... but help! I did send a thank you.

The kids won't be back until November...what can I do for them? This whole holiday thing is going to be a huge mess with 2 DD's, 2 BF's!!
I am already worried and concerned-- is there is anything I can do to reciprocate and/or create a meal here without the kids eating at two places, which I do not want!!

Hedgie - I'll put on my thinking cap to see if I can offer any advice.

I have decided to start a project. I'm probably going to hate myself. I've been stuffing pictures and articles, letters, wedding invitations, etc., in boxes for the last . . . ummmm. . . ten years or so? I can't stand it anymore. Everything is taking up space in boxes that are disorganized. I realize I'll still end up with boxes of stuff, but I need it to be organized. I just can't take it anymore. This is going to be a big, messy project (meaning all over the living room) but it's been bugging me for a long time. Wish me luck. And support when I need it, PLEASE!

Hedgie, how very nice to receive something special - you deserve it. Please try not to fret, worry or be concerned about what to do to reciprocate. You are an extraordinary young woman and am sure that you will do better than great. Some of the very best memories are ones that are simple and from the heart. It will all work out. <3

For many years there was a similar situation going with someone where money & resources were no problem. As a single mom, I decided that I could not "outdo" and did what I could...

Btw, can understand about the 'two places' thing....

Happy Labor Day!

Thanks Cat, I am going to stop worrying and let things evolve. Sometimes I try too hard. I sent a real purdy thank you note for dinner. We brought flowers to dinner. I guess I am just awkward about social things.

I think that is perfect. You don't need to do more. Sometimes less is more. Simpler is better.
As far as sharing holidays why not opt to host a lovely breakfast or brunch if they want to do the dinner? Serve quiche and a breakfast casserole, some fruit, a pastry Item, mimosas and you're done and its lovely.

Caterina ALWAYS gives great advice. It reminded me of something that happened with my MIL at one time. My parents wanted to send a "thinking of you" gift or something. Bill's mother got so upset because she didn't know what to send back. She couldn't just say 'thank you' and let it be. She ended up going above and it was just for a 'thinking of you' - it didn't NEED anymore than a thank you. I noticed she did that more than once.

SO, I agree with Cat. When the time comes, you will know what you should or can do.

LOL!

I enjoyed the conversation very much. We chatted and he laughed which was a good sign. Up beat and yet can discuss issues. Smart and kind. I like him, but who knows what he is thinking?

He shook hands good bye, held my hand in both of his hands. Does that mean anything?

Did not discuss anything for the future. So I am just thinking things thru. Will see what he has to say....??

Hi Ladies- I had a good time at my sisiter's home up north. All 10 of us went out on the boat to an island for lunch. it took two boat loads to get there. A storm came out of no where while the kids, youngest DS, BIl and nephew where on a different island. DH, my sister and I were planning how to stay on the island if they could not get back to get us. They came back picked us up crammed us all into the boat. The wind was quite strong and lightening was all around. As we got back to their home the sky opened up. Another time we were being watched over. We were under a severe storm advisory. we had checked the weather before we took off. We were all safe and secure that is all the mattered.
On Sunday, DS, DH and I went further north. Our plan was to go to Canada. Due to miss communications the passports were at my sister's. DS just drove along the Rainy River and we stopped at a few coves ending up at the Rainy River Voyageur National Park site. we walked around and then were hungry. we stopped at a hole in the wall diner. WOW the food was the best I have eaten at a restaurant in many years. Too bad it is nearly 300 miles form our home or I would make Dh take me back! We came home a few hrs ago. DS had to drive another 2 hours to get home. All in on he will have put on 1000 miles since Friday evening.
I know this is a book. But it felt so good to get away!

BTW Dh's mom is doing as expected with the pace maker. Thanks for all the positive thoughts.

I thought about that too and I do think it makes a difference. Also Jim and I had texted and emailed A LOT so we felt really comfortable with each other already...we were already talking 10 + times a day.

The guy before Jim was just a hug on the first date.

You really don't know. Some guys do respect women and unless you put out obvious signs they just won't hug/kiss you. I wouldn't give up.

You can always email him tomorrow and say you had a lovely time and see what happens.

Joan - you need more wonderful adventures like you had! I'm glad you had time to get away.

Hedgie and Jen - I love your bantering back and forth! Too cute.

Hedgie - I like the idea of emailing telling him you had a nice time. Then the ball is in his court, but you let him know you enjoyed yourself.

Bill and I spent some time in the disastrous basement storage area. We got rid of a HUGE bag of trash, a HUGE box of recycling (and I know I have more), two smaller boxes for Good Will and I organized my filing cabinet and got some of my music in there. I still have a lot of craft stuff I want to get to, but it is all easy enough to get to now. I will offer it to my cousin when we go camping later this month. She may want some of it.

Spark is a funny thing. Jim felt it on date 1. I wasn't so sure. It hit on date #2 for me. I mean, I liked him but he was so nervous I just wasn't feeling it.

Meeting his girls tomorrow! Yikes!

Which is ok, but, If he liked me he would have said, I'd like to see you again.

I have no hopes whatsoever. I am not going to rejoin any group. I am clearly not datable. I don't blame those that dislike me from BCBW. Need to relax and let it all go. I will be alone henceforth. I need to make friends who are in similar positions and develop relationships where we look out for each other.

No one will ever want me. Guess it will be about caring and being there for each other. I love women and there are many activities to do in groups!

Hedgie - don't be so hard on yourself. You are a wonderful, caring person. Don't give up, just be open for new experiences and adventures.

Totally reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where George's mother is dating. "If you're out there I can't be out there. There's not enough room for the two of us". Lol

Hedgie, don't be so hard on yourself. It'll all work out.

You guys are probably right, but any response is appreciated over no response at all. I mean at least just say, great to meet you, best on your journey to find the right person. It makes you feel like a fool if the other person does not at least acknowlege the meeting.
