Hi all! I guess Jennifer isn't back yet or at least back online so I'll start the thread for this week for her!

It's 90! OMGosh but windy and the pollen is AWFUL! I'm a mess. Trying to stay inside helps.

Not much new here.

Carry on!

Thanks, Cat. It's only for a couple of weeks while the tree pollen is high. The rest of the spring pollen I can deal with - with zyrtec and zaditor.

Seems Michael and I are acutely allergic to tree pollen! I saw him this morning and he's not much better. Poor kid

I went and re-read Jennifer's PM to me and she asked me for 4/9 AND 4/16 so I'm sorry I didn't post the new thread earlier.

Have a chuckle....

An elderly woman died last month. Having never married, she requested
no male pallbearers. In her handwritten instructions for her memorial service,
she wrote, "They wouldn't take me out while I was alive, I don't want them
to take me out when I'm dead.

Have another...

A police recruit was asked during the exam, "What would you do if you had
to arrest your own mother?" He said, "Call for backup."

Busy day today. Was 93 degrees and it was humid too! Work, then an emergency lawyer meeting where we didnt have to say a word. He knew he was in trouble and had it all taken care of! We're not letting it go though. We will pursue this further.

Then I made arroz con pollo for my boss who had surgery and for us too. The longer you cook it the better it tastes! I normally don't eat grains but darn it was good! Even dad liked it and he's a tough one when it comes to cooking. Looking forward to a good sleep tonight!

Sherry~~I LOVE those Lilly of the Vally Stamps too!!! I have a few that I've had quite a while, but have never even mounted them!!

Cat, it will be interesting to hear what your doctor says about your progress. Please keep us informed.

I think I found the fabric for my Craft Room!!! I have been trying to come up with a plan , and figuring out how much fabric I'm going to need. I still need to buy two 6' tables. I will be sewing window treatments for 3 windows. I'm making reversible skirt panels for the tables, so that I can store things underneath if I want, and it will look tidy, but I can remove 1 panel for each person where they are sitting. The other panels will stay in place. I'm purchasing enough fabric to make a twin size quilt when I buy the day-bed that will go in that room. I'll also be sewing misc items like basket liners, etc. So, all together I'll be buying about 30 yards of fabric! What I've found is a collection of about 10 to 12 fabrics that all coordinate. The main colors are white, aqua and brown. It will take quite a while to get everything done, but I am excited to know it is on it's way!!!

Good morning all!!

Cloudy day here - we sure could use some rain.

Reynold is working at a bank down in Bowie. We are extremely grateful for this opportunity for him especially in view of so many people out of work.

Thought this was a really cute chuckle.

Jealous Eve

After Adam stayed out late a few nights, Eve became
suspicious. "You're running around with another woman...
admit it!" she demanded.

"What other woman?" Adam shot back. "You're it!"

That night, Adam was fast asleep when he was awakened by Eve
poking him in the chest. "What are you doing?"

"Counting your ribs."

Linda - I love the colors you have picked, your room is going to be adorable. Please post pics as you go! It will be fun to watch your progress and all your creations come to life!

Jen - sorry about the lawyer business!

Liz- I have got to get busy and get my reorganizing done, I have tons to do and have to get it done soon!

I hope Jennifer and Joanne are having wonderful vacations and will share tons of pics when they get back!

Speaking of new pics I have a couple new ones of Brendon (senior pics) I'll post one tonight when I get home! I'm so proud of him! He has worked so hard, he has 30 hours of college credit, so he will start in the Fall with a year already under his belt! He is very excited to move to Lubbock! Mom, not so much, but I'm sure I'll make it!

Cat - Lubbock is 1.5 hours from Canyon! Not too far that I can't get to him if I need to and close enough for him to come home on the occassional weekend he is not busy! I'm glad it is so close, easy to get home and then when he is doing clinicals in 3rd and 4th year of medical school he can move home and do all his clinicals here and save some money! Texas Tech has tons of medical students working at each of the hospitals here in Amarillo. and......I help take care of getting them set up here at the VA when they come! so I'm pretty excited!

Happy Tuesday!
My sister picked me up yesterday after work. So I didn't get time to post!

We had snow flurries yesterday morning. It was beautiful. However, northern MN was hit hard. One of my sisters lives near the Canadian border. They received 12 or more inches. WOW! It is warmer today about 50 degrees with a blue sky and sun!

Having mixed feelings about my new job....there are pros, there are cons...
Kind of thinking -long run- I need something MORE.

I hate to complain, I know I am lucky to even have a job....but you know what- I worked so hard during my RN refresher...and I do not feel I am using it in the way I would like.

Wow, was really thinking quite a bit about you today and wondering how you are doing. so glad you checked in.

As for the job, hang in there. Hope there are more pros then cons and maybe even a better opening in your future. You have a great deal to give sweetie!!

Sherry - great job Brendan! Michael only was able to start 3 CR ahead but he's still on track to graduate in 4 years. Also he has at least one summer job for 6 weeks! WhooHoo! Teaching swimming at a camp on campus.

Karen- hope your job sitch gets better. Had my annual review. got a VERY small raise but happy to have a job, especially one with good bennies and flexibility.

Allergies still kicking my butt. Will be another week I think.

News: Got a new phone! I have joined the new generation and have a smart phone - iphone 4S. So now I'm having fun playing around--at least until the novelty wears off. But I do have to get my old ringtones back may have to buy the one I had for Ken - Unchained Melody from Ghost - our first date. And I have M playing Buglars Holiday at his senior concert for him.

That is all.

hi ladies back from GA, came back this morning left GA just in time to head to work, should have taken the day off, but i didnt but i am one TIRED chick . Funeral was good, sad but good, FAMILY on the other NOT GOOD i knew there would be something happening and it did. so if you could just keep the "THE GROWN CHILDREN" in your thoughts and prayers I would appreciate it. Very sad situation this weekend. But like some of you said death brings out the good in people and it can also bring out the BAD.

heading to bed, have a wonderful night. will chat later. THANKS FOR ALL THE THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

Sorry for the 'not good' stuff. It is a shame how a death in the family shows some of the ugly sides.

Hope you get some rest.

Good morning, it has been super quiet around here.

Here is an old funny but still a cute one...

Shampoo Alert!

As I was conditioning my hair in the shower this morning, I
took time to read my shampoo bottle. SHOCK---The shampoo
that runs down my entire body says "for extra volume &
body." Seriously, why have I not noticed this before?

Now I understand why I am so "full-figured."

Tomorrow I am going to start using "Dawn" dish soap. It says
"dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove."

Good Morning!

Been busy this morning!

Liz - good for Michael for school and a summer job, still working on that part with Brendon. We live in a pretty small town and it is a college town too so it is hard for high school kids to get part time jobs! Congrats on the new phone!

Cat - You should keep your new phone, you would love it!

Nikki - I hope you can get some rest!

Sherry, too late, it went back a few days ago. Probably would get used to it but you know some of us old people fight change...

Anyway, I am usually at home using my MAC and my cell phone sits with little use.

I'M HOME!!!!!!

That was a long 2 weeks without any internet or tv. I have a lot of catching up to do.

We had a nice time visiting with family. Everyone ate Preston up. My grandma is not doing well, she's struggling so much. So thankful that we got to see her again though. Depending on how things go, we might go back in a few months.

Highlights of our trip:

Had the tornado sirens go off during a big storm
Celebrated my Grandma's 89th birthday
Had an Easter egg hunt
Saw a raccoon
Survived all the plane rides

It was good to get away, but it's really good to be home. I missed chatting with you all!

Nichole- get some extra sleep. I really believe that deaths certainly can bring the worst out in people. I will definitely keep praying for your family.

Liz- congrats to Michael. It is hard to find a part time job anywhere.

Sherry- How fun to have a graduation coming up. Brendon has done well and will continue to I am sure.

Caterina- I don't even have a cell phone. I really don't want one!

Jennifer- I knew that Preston would be the hit of the days. Glad to see you back. I will continue to pray for grandma.

Joan, the only reason Reynold got me one a few years ago was to have it in case of an emergency if I would be driving somewhere on my own and in need of help. Thing is I hardly drive on my own any more except to the hairdresser every 6-7 weeks. Reynold drives me most of the time... have become spoiled.

Has anyone caught the TV show, Betty White's Off Their Rockers? Watching it right now and it is hysterical... old folks pulling all kinds of 'tricks' on the younger generation.

My mama noticed one of her kitties was breathing a little fast when we got home from vacation. He got worse so she took him to the vet yesterday to be checked out and I met her there because she was so scared. He died about 30 minutes later. It was very quick and the vet thinks he had a bad heart. She was able to hold him and say goodbye. Mickey was her first cat and she loved him to pieces. She's so upset. She's having him cremated and I went with her to pick out a special urn. So very unexpected.

She has another cat at home (Onyx), but Mickey was her baby.
