Happy March!

I'm in Southern California helping my neighbor move. It's an all-expense paid trip. Preston and I fly home Sunday. We're unpacking the moving truck tomorrow and planning a trip to Sea World in the next few days...and hopefully go see the ocean!

We are in Yucaipa.

This whole family was sick with a stomach bug last week. Her husband got it yesterday and now it looks like Preston has it. He fell asleep in the car tonight and I couldn't wake him up. Such a scary feeling! Hopefully I don't catch this thing.

Sorry the nasty bug has struck and hoping Preston will get better quickly.

It has been a long time since we were in Southern California. Sure hope you enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Hope you stay healthy, Jennifer. You saw on Facebook that I lived in Yucaipa. We were there for a year - we lived in Redlands (next town over) for three years before that. We have friends in both places yet. We haven't been back in so long. These are some of the friends at our reunion in Golden last year. Bill and I are thinking of flying out to CA for a few days and then going with one set of friends to CO together. Still have to work that out.

Hope you are having nice weather- I know they were slammed with rain a few weeks ago. Stay well! And safe travels home!

Caterina - how are you doing?

Joanne, I am hanging in there. The panic attacks are not as severe as they have been and am extremely thankful for that. Still feeling anxiety and other symptoms, however, each day gets a little better.

Reynold took me to see The Shack this afternoon and it is truly a must see movie. Read the book a few years back and think they did a great job with the filming and keeping to the heart of the book. Would highly suggest it. It is so beautifully done, they made wonderful choices for the actors, love Octavia Spencer and Sam Worthington.

Jennifer- That stomach flu is awful. So many people in my area have had it. Take care!

Caterina- Thinking of you! I listened to "The Shack" a few years ago!

Joanne- When are you coming to MN? I know the same is true for me. When I am coming out east?

Have a great day!

Joan - If I could convince my husband to take several weeks, we would be doing some major traveling. As soon as I can, we will get to MN!

Caterina - so glad you are doing better. As I've said before, depression and anxiety are awful. And some people do not understand it at all.

I read The Shack but I am not remembering all of it. I remember there were parts that I had questions about, but cannot remember what they were now. If I still have the book (and can FIND it, I will reread it).

Joanne, so appreciate your card with your lovely encouraging words. You are so very sweet. It arrived on Saturday which was a difficult day for me so the timing was perfect... thank you.

HAPPY MARCH! Severe cold here with high winds. Staying inside as my joints do not like it. The weather is having big swings and that makes it difficult.

My girlfriend went to see it Saturday afternoon. We've both read the book and were also very happy with the casting. I agree that they did a good job transferring the book to film.

Hello friends - enjoying the sunshine and blue skies today. Windows open and everything. Tomorrow - snow! And then cold days. I hear we may get a big storm on Tuesday. That is still several days away so I'll wait and see. But spring is coming!

Just when I thought we were safe..... I wake up to 35 degrees and white stuff falling down with even more to come over the weekend. A major snowstorm is suppose to hit us on Monday.

I'm not looking forward to any of that either Caterina! We are on the borderline of 6-10 or 10-16 range of snow fall. Oh joy.

How much snow do you have Gail? A lot of flowers started to come up last week since the weather was so warm. I wonder how many will be done for the season due to the now-frigid cold and snow on it's way.

We are getting a snow storm with high winds. The forecast is 6-10 inches. We are back to winter after unseasonably warm weather. The tulips and daffodils are going to die.

Joanne- thanks for the wonderful card. That was so thoughtful. Dh loved it too!

My eastern friends take care!

The sun is out and I best enjoy it for the snow is on its way this evening. Many daffodils are blooming along with forsythia but not for long. Even our rose bushes are showing leaves and the grass is getting green.

Reynold is grateful to have our snowblower and so am I for it makes easier for him. We live on the corner of our street so we have a lot sidewalk to clear.

I thought it was an amazing coincidence! We LOVED Redlands! Yucaipa was fine, but all our friends lived in Redlands at the time, so we couldn't just 'stop in' to see them.

Caterina - I was thinking today that it was still a pretty nice day (sunny, some fluffy clouds) even though it was cold. Maybe after the snow, we can still get the bright sunny skies back. I sure hope so. It makes such a huge difference for me. Even if it is cold, the bright blue sky and sunshine lifts my spirits.

Joan - you are so faithful in sending cards all the time -I want you to know how much it is appreciated. I'm trying to get better!

Just checking in with all of my friends. I have been awake for over an hour. Now I need to get ready for work. I am not sleeping very well. We only received about 5 inches of snow. So no big deal. I hope all of my eastern friends are doing okay!
Any one do any thing special for St Patrick's Day?
I am making corned beef and cabbage. Dh will eat the beef but not the cabbage. His lost and my gain!

We got several inches of snow, however, it turned to ice which is so much worse than snow. It is only 28 degrees so do not think it is going to melt much today.

Joan, St. Patrick's Day is our wedding anniversary. We have gone away every year for our anniversary. For first time we have no plans to go away this anniversary. With how I have been feeling the last few months, it is fine to stay home and keep warm by the fireplace.

Gail - I love your St. Patrick's display!

We got a similar amount of snow to Caterina. And, yes, the last bit was sleet. I heard it during the night and knew it wouldn't be good. It wasn't AWFUL, but certainly not pleasant. My wonderful husband took the snow blower and did five neighbor's driveways and sidewalks. Plus our own. He was out there about 2 hours. A few years ago our next door neighbor would do several sidewalks and driveways with his snow blower. When they moved, Bill decided to buy a snow blower and take over the duties. He's added a few more families to the list though.

I am doing the 40 bags in 40 days challenge and I'm doing well. I am not really doing it in any particularly organized way - it is more of what I see/notice/is bothering me to get started. At least things are getting done and clutter is leaving the house.

I'm with the others - that paper is just adorable! PERFECT for spring and Easter.

Joan- once again you have blessed us all. Thank you for the St. Patrick's Day card. It is sitting on the little table in my foyer - it is where I put all my cards from you each month!

Very proud of my nephew, Tommy, and his son, my great-nephew, Travis. Each of them raised $500 for childhood cancer research for the annual St. Baldrick's Shave for the Brave event yesterday.
