Another fabulous weekend here. We organized the whole basement - it was a 2-day process! Looks so nice and we'll be able to find stuff when we need it. I cleaned the free cat tower I got again and got a bunch more junk out of it. It's starting to look really good. Once I rinse it one more time and let it thoroughly dry, I'll bring it into the house for the kitties.
My fun project was cleaning the stove area. We pulled it out so I could clean under it which wasn't very dirty at all. However, the inside of the stove hood was disgusting!!! It's not easy to reach, I had to be twisted sideways and hunched over. I found a cleaning solution recipe on line and it worked great! 2 hours, one toothbrush and 5 Q-tips later, I was done. I also cleaned the underside of the stovetop. I don't think I've ever done that. It wasn't too bad, but now it looks brand new.
I'm vacuuming our downstairs and then steam cleaning it this morning. Meeting a friend at HuHot for lunch. Love that restaurant and one just opened right by our house!!
Chloe seems to be much better. The vet gave us a prescription to help with the soreness/swelling. It seems to be her shoulder. She was good at the vet.
Jennifer - I wish I could do half of what you do - I am so lazy!
It is sunny but COLD outside. I wasn't expecting that. And it is windy.
Joanne, Let us know what the vet says. I hope she is better today!!!!
I worked in the basement yesterday. It was very hard to be in there, since that was where Lambert died a few weeks ago. I still really miss my boy!!! I gave the others kitty treats the other day. Seemed strange to have him missing!!! Our furry pets are part of our family!!! I couldn't survive without mine!!!
Jen - you are such a good cook, I need you to cook for me!
Jennifer - I like to clean, but girl you are a fanatic! I'm not near as good at cleaning as you are!
I would love to have the top note die too! I really like that, but have never splurled on myself!
Saturday we bought furniture, for Brendon's college apartment. We bought a bed, couch, dresser and dining table and chairs and some misc stuff! He made out! My friend was selling furniture, so we made a trip to Lubbock!
I finished a baby afghan for a gift this weekend! I have so many projects going on! I feel like I'm running behind!
Liz - you are very welcome for the card! that is a goal this year to remember birthday's! I feel awful when I miss one!
Hi Sherry! You had a busy, productive weekend! Nice that you found furniture for Brandon. Where is he going to college? I don't know if you told us or not.
Since it is Monday, here's another chuckle...
A trucker stops for a red light, a blonde catches up. She jumps out of her car, runs up to his truck, and knocks on the door.
The trucker lowers the window, and she says "Hi, my name is Heather and you are losing some of your load."
The trucker ignores her and proceeds down the street. When the truck stops for another red light, the girl catches up again. She jumps out of her car, runs up and knocks on the door.
Again, the trucker lowers the window. As if they've never spoken, the blonde says brightly, "Hi my name is Heather, and you are losing some of your load!"
Shaking his head, the trucker ignores her again and continues down the street. At the third red light, the same thing happens again.
All out of breath, the blonde gets out of her car, runs up, knocks on the truck door. The trucker rolls down the window.. Again she says "Hi, my name is Heather, and you are losing some of your load!"
When the light turns green the trucker revs up and races to the next light.
When he stops this time, he hurriedly gets out of the truck, and runs back to the blonde.
He knocks on her window, and after she lowers it, he says...
"Hi, my name is Mark, it's winter in CLEVELAND and I'm driving the SALT TRUCK!"
Well, tonight you wouldn't think I am a good cook! LOL Tonight's dinner theme is "stuff from the freezer". Fish sticks, Trader Joe's brown rice, frozen veggies.

It's too bad that all the people who are smart enough to run the country are busy teaching school.
Jen - I have to do a freezer dinner. I know I have things in the basement freezer that I need to bring upstairs. Otherwise, it will be forgotten!
Liz - you are welcome! I'm trying to be better with cards. All November/December birthdays were missed - mostly because I had bronchitis and fell behind with everything. I felt horrible about not sending wishes to my friends and family
Hi everyone!
Sherry- What a great find!
Joanne- So happy that Chloe will be okay! How is Marie doing regarding the dog?
Jennifer- Wow! You were busy this weekend. I wish I had some ambition. It would be great to get Dh involved!
Caterina- Great chuckles!
Liz- How is A and M doing?
Good evening!

Sending much love, hugs and prayers for your granddaddy, you and all the family. This is such an extremely difficult road to walk.

Jennifer, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Truly wish I could be with you but please know that we are all with you in spirit and God is there too. <3
Hope this cute chuckle will bring a bit of a smile...
Big Fish
A class was taken on a fishing boat for a field trip, and
the teacher, in an attempt to lessen fears of big fish,
stated, "There are no fish big enough to swallow people."
"But how about the fish that swallowed Jonah I learned about
in Sunday school?" asked one little boy.
"You can't believe everything you're told," responded the
teacher.
"I'll ask Jonah when I get to heaven," he replied.
"What if Jonah didn't go to heaven?" prodded his teacher.
Brandon got the time off approved. My mama is getting off early today to take us up to Denver.
We're just finishing up packing and then we'll leave. I'm so afraid something is going to happen before we get there. I know there's nothing I can do, but I just feel so helpless. I called the hospital and they won't let Preston into the ICU. I'm taking our video camera so I can play that for my dad to hear Preston laughing and talking in the off chance that he can hear what's going on.
Thanks for all of the support. I really appreciate it.
Prayers and good thoughts for Jennifer and her family and Nikki and her family!
I'm so sorry y'all are hurting so much! I know you are busy, just remember we are here and thinking about you!
Cat - Thanks for the funnies this morning! I think we need them!
Does anyone know where Jennifer's Dad is??? I can't remember.
Both her and Nichole have been in my thought all day!!! All I can do is pray that God helps them through this difficult time.
Linda - her dad is in Phoenix. I can't stop thinking of her and Nikki today either.
I did hear some good news this morning. My neighbor's daughter had a baby girl early this morning. She and her hubby had decided not to find out the sex of the baby so it was a surprise. I was so hoping for a little girl - most of my friends have had boys lately! It was time to balance it out!
Yesterday I scrubbed and polished about 1/4 of our bedroom floor on my hands and knees or sitting down, since my knee is killing me. I planned on doing another 1/4 today, but my back and knee is unbearably painful. I am doubling up on Vicodine and Tylenol, but it isn't helping at all. I see my regular MD tomorrow, and have a call into my Neurosurgeon. There are so many things that need to be done in this house, but I just can't physically do them. I HATE IT!!! Bob won't do a good enough job to suit me, if he'd do it at all!!! If my Grandkids were a couple of years older, I'd pay them to help me.
My advice to all of you that are younger than me: Don't get old!!! And if you do,...stay strong and healthy!!!
