Default Storage Solution Ideas

I posted a bit about my new Divine Twine storage in another thread dedicated to Die Cutting Hints, but thought it might be interesting to start a new thread dedicated to storage solutions for all our favorite products! Here's what I posted about my Twine holders:

Quote:
They aren't quite done but here you go. See the one in the middle front - that's how they will look when I find the rest of my glass draw pulls (that one is from my great-grandparent's old farmhouse).

I bought the candle holders for $.99 each - I should have bought a few more, I have at least 1 more roll of Divine Twine to add and plan on getting all the colors!

Then I bought 1/2" dowels at the hardware store, measured each one and cut it just to the top of the Twine. Then the dowels were hot glued into the holders. They work great! You can unroll the Twine with no problem at all!

I should say, this wasn't my original idea - I found it on Pinterest and had to have them!
What are your favorite storage ideas - I need a LOT of help!

I think this is such an elegant solution, Julie. For TWINE!? Terrific.

Wish I could take credit for the idea . . . but I'm not nearly that clever! What ideas do you guys have?

Here's my twine storage. I put the big spools in a sugar dispenser with a single hole. That way I can just pull the twine out a bit at a time as I need it. For the smaller bundles of twine (like the 15 yard bundles that TCP sells), I made each bundle into a ball and put it into a similar dispenser with a lot of holes at the top. Works the same way--and keeps the twine from falling down and unraveling or from ending up in the mouth of my very nosy puppy.

That is a great idea Lori! Love it Can't wait to copy- especially for those little bundles that end up in a tangled knot! Thanks for the inspiration

Love those containers Lori!! I love how you can put several smaller bundles in one - that's such a great idea!!

I like this too because they won't get dusty - we have a woodstove going 24/7 for about 6-7 months and things tend to get covered with soot if I don't cover them! Perfect solution!

I love that these will keep the twine dust free. It's off to Goodwill for me.

So now, I'd love to hear how you all organize and store your lovely TCP goodies! For right now I have a big tin box that I keep most of them in and it lives right next to my desk in a rolling wire cart with 4 shelves that I got at a yard sale for $1. I'm thinking I should do something a little swankier though . . . what's your system?

WOW! I'm loving these storage ideas! I store my twine and my ribbon on wide popsicle sticks inside glass jars. I really need to pick up a few more of the glass jars but I haven't been able to find ones that match the ones I already have. The two with the silver lids drive me crazy as I want them all to match! LOL As soon as I can find some new jars the twine will go into one of them. The tall jar in the back has all my ribbon that is 1 1/4" wide or wider. The small jars at the front hold my buttons. Oh how I love ribbon and buttons! I had to show you the buttons as well as I'm too lazy to move everything today! LOL

All my TCP stamps and dies are currently in a box on one of my shelves. I really need to figure out a good storage system for all of my stamps. I am thinking of getting the Clip It Up Floor Model with a couple exta arms, but I want to see it in person first as I'm not sure how much floor space it will take up.

This is too fabulous -- it reminds me of a candy store, but is much more appealing!

Do I sense a bit of bitterness Ms. jennypete?? It's ok dear, we all have our train wrecks! LOL! Mine was my laundry room (among others ) which I tackled yesterday and found that low and behold I have a counter in there and lots of storage!! I'm tackling my house room by room this spring/summer and I will beat it into submission!!

But then I know yours can't be that bad - I've seen your great die storage!! Did you show that here? You should!

I'm just teasing Julie Hey- if a $1 rolly cart is what works for you, then all the power sister!! And my dies are about the only thing thats organized well in my WHOLE house!! lol! Here it is for your viewing pleasure, as per Ms Masse's request:
april11-009.jpg april11-010.jpg

I keep all my loose steel dies (of all companies) on this funky magnetic board and then I can see what I have at all times and within arm's reach I write on the back of the die with a sharpie marker, so I know the maker of the die for referencing. My spellbinders are in clear cases on a roladex type of thingy....Whatcha think of that?

Talking Die Storage

I don't know if you've had a chance to take a peek at our June Project of the Month, but Leigh O'Brien designed a cute folder to store our CutUps dies.

Check it out and download the instructions.

I am just getting started...i have made possibly 20 cards. I am gathering and gathering, having scored a ton of items from 2 yard sales and a seller here in LV. My little hint, for a starting person...I am going to Vino's Pizza in Cannery Casino, and asking them for their personal size pizza boxes. I am asking for 3-4 at a time (unused, of course), and using these to store my wood-mount stamps. These are white, clean, and I can write on the outside what types they are...I could make a scan of what is inside, and tape it to the top, or make scans and shrink, and put them on the outside edge, but I think that would be room intensive, and more stamps than space, perhaps.

But it is a starter organizational bit, until I can start making shelf thingies/etc. And that foam ribbon sorter looks great!
