I had to vote other, I used Memento a lot (sorry Alma!)! But I do use a lot of color for other projects and I like the coverage and colors they have now. Plus the dew drops are easier on the wallet.
BUT I do love the Marvy Black that you gave me and use that most when stamping TCP images because it really has such great coverage and color especially in the heavy black images like the penguins and Sprinkle!! And you can use Copics with it!
Though I was part of a different thread discussing inks, I still struggle with the same issues I mentioned before. I have every brand name of black ink and still have troubles getting a consistent juicy black black image on my cardstock. If I emboss with clear powder I get better results with it looking real black but if I leave it plain, not always so. I used to use Brilliance ALL the time but it seems now I have to add ink to my pad frequently (even a new pad) to accomplish that. The type of paper was discussed but no matter what paper I use Versafine still isn't black enough. I have Momento but that isn't consistent either. So, I guess the conclusion I am coming to is that you have to ink it up pretty much everytime to get that beautiful black image. I would love to hear what others say as this problem has come up many times from the gals here.
I didn't see either of my favorites so I voted "other"! Memento, definitely for Copics. I just had to replace my Tuxedo black. I had used it so much it was "hairy". For colors, I am loving Fresh Ink. Gorgeous colors and stamp beautifully.
I use Stampin' Up for colors because it's what I was doing when I learned about stamping, then I felt that I might as well just stick with the same thing! Plus I also get my solid color cardstock from there and I like how it all coordinates. I do love Memento too, Julie, I have a few of those, the Memento black is the best, I never use my SU! Basic Back or Chocolate Chip anymore, only Memento. I think all my pigment pads in metallic and white are Color box. I have to say that SU! inks are really made for rubber stamps, when using them with clear stamps (either acrylic or photopolymer), I find it best to stamp the stamp with VersaMark first, then the SU! dye ink pads. I get less pooling or puddling on my stamp that way.
This is the million dollar question. So many different inks, so many different applications.
If I'm using rubber stamps, I like Memento. If I'm using clear stamps, I like the dye ink pads from Clearsnap or the new Stampin' Up! formulation. If I'm just doing any kind of water color stuff, I like Ranger Distress. If I'm coloring with Copic, it's Espresso Truffle Memento for me.

Have you tried the Marvy Black? It's really a nice BLACK black pad! When I'm stamping something that has a lot of solid black area I always use this!
Maybe we should coax Miss Meowy into carrying it in the store or telling us her source!
I use Memento a lot, especially when coloring with markers. But, I have a bunch of black inks I use depending on what I'm doing. For Sparkle or the penguins, I use Brilliance. I also use Brilliance for stamping sentiments on patterned papers. And, I have Palette Noir Black for stamping on ribbon or fabric. There are probably a few more black ink pads sitting around my stamping space that I haven't thought of, too . . .
My favorite black ink is Memento. It is my ink of choice when I use Copic Markers. It gives a nice clean image and it cleans up easily. I like their colors too. I also like the fact that they come in the Dew Drop size. It is a great way to try the different colors and it is a little bit less expensive too.

Fresh Ink? I have never heard of that? Who makes that? Should I invest?
One of our previous Cat Packers swore on Versafine and Ultra fine embossing powder for really black ink that you could use copics with. I have to admit, I love the look, but am soooo lazy.
Yes, Emily is correct. Impress is the only place I know to buy the Fresh Inks and I've heard the formula is the same as Amuse. They are a pigment ink. If you sign up for their mailing list, periodically they will send you a coupon code. Not that I really have that many but that's how I acquired them - with a 20% off coupon. LOVE the colors.
I also forgot to say earlier than I do love Ranger Archival Inks and the Hero Arts Shadow inks but I hate that I can't get them off my clear stamps. If any one has ideas on how to clean them, please let me know!!
Ok, Lori is right--this IS the million dollar question!
For black, I'm a Brilliance girl. Dottie, you are right though, I also have to ink up often, especially if I'm about to stamp a TCP penguin or Sprinkle (solid black images), and I ALWAYS heat set it no matter the image. I mostly stamp on White from Papertrey or Neenah paper.
I usually stamp a sentiment last in my cardmaking process at which time I grab my Memento Tuxedo Black, only because I don't have to heat set it!
For color, I still have all my old SU! colors, but they are getting dried up and "hairy" and I'm not wanting to invest in all the reinkers because of the oldness of my pads. I'm thinking about slowly but surely replacing them with all the new MFT colored inks. What does everyone think of them? The coverage looks fantastic! And so does the Gina K inks, although she informed us today that the red is having separation problems within the composition of the ink and some of the pads are randomly not glued onto the case well enough. She is SO classy though and is replacing every single one of the pads customers have ordered with these problems, no questions asked. LOVE HER!! Who has tried these colors--MFT or Gina K.? I'm interested in feedback about both.
I too am dying (heehee) to know about the new Gina K and MFT pads! I love the colors they're doing so I may just jump in!! Any info from you pros out there?
Memento is probably my favorite (especially the black, great for Copics) - they have great coverage and consistency. However I don't have that nice coordination with cardstock colors and ribbon etc., so I like SU a lot too. Looking forward to s=trying their new firm foam pads that came out.
Well ladies, lots of different thoughts here...I was told that Memento was the best for Copics so I have never wavered...Susan I am like you I have every Stampin up color from when I was a demo but they are definitely on their last legs so to speak... I have just recently bought a few ink pads form MFT and like their coverage
One thing I have noticed with my (old) SU! pads, particularly the red ones, is that they have gotten weird, almost a rusty appearance over the years. When I re-ink them it's hard to get even coverage. I like the newer SU pads that are dye ink but more like a pigment pad. Was thinking of replacing my red pads with the new ones, though now I'm intrigued about the new MFT inks....
It all depends what I am doing, favorite inks for various techniques or styles.
Just checked my "go to" Baggie I travel with, to see what I did have there. Several Ranger Archival colors (blacks & browns), Memento's, Versa Mark. For colors I have only two I heas for deepening on purpose.... Either my new SU inks or my TH Distress Inks.
I have a bunch of ins in various brands.... They rarely see the light of day.
"Other" from me meaning Memento... I am 90% Tuxedo Black.... but for colors I have Memento dew drops, and about 10 A Muse Ink pads... AWESOME Dry FAST!!!!!!
I'm another "Other" stamper too - Memento Tuxedo Black 98% of the time, and then a mix of Tim Holtz Distress inks, Adirondak, Memento Color Dew Drops, and Stampin Up! to create the remaining 2% and only when I need a color ink. Love my Memento Tuxedo Black - NO Running with Prismacolor Markers!!! The others stipple and reink great!!!! except for my SU ones from time to time and those tend to curl at the sides.

I'm an "other" girl, too. I use Memento tuxedo black and rich cocoa when I'm coloring with Copics. I use some SU and Memento for "colors" but also have an assortment of other inks I've collected over the years, including Hero Arts, Colorbox, Brilliance and Distress inks that I like a lot. I generally prefer dye ink to pigment because I am not patient enough to wait for it to dry.
Lots of others! I do love the Distress ink colors! Really wonderfully.....distressed. I love the look of Brilliance, but can't figure out when to stop heat setting. Seems like it is never enough, and I always get a not-so-happy surprise
