Please excuse the interruption, but here’s a PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
reminding us that there are some Dumb Crooks in the world!
The Apple Store alarm triggered at midnight, notifying the local police that the premises had been compromised. Police arriving at the scene discovered that a security gate at the front of the store had been destroyed, and there was substantial damage to the business. No suspects were found at the scene, so officers reviewed footage from the surveillance cameras.
In the video, a blue BMW X5 SUV can be seen crashing through the plate-glass window in the front of the store. Three suspects exited the vehicle and started to grab items from nearby display tables. While the hooded crooks grabbed the loot, the wheelman attempted to back out of the store, but quickly discovered a security gate had fallen down, blocking his path. Undeterred, the driver repeatedly smashed the back of the BMW into the gate until it finally gave way and the SUV was able to exit the business and drive away.
A clean getaway? No, far from it.
During one of the BMW's frenzied attempts to smash through the security gate, the vehicle's license plate was torn from the vehicle and was discovered among the broken glass and rubble. The BMW was also left crippled with two flat tires. The burglars managed to use a spare to change one, but the other remained an encumbrance. The solution? Why, a second theft, of course.
One of the men allegedly entered a nearby convenience store and stole a can of Fix-a-Flat. Unfortunately for the thieves, the damage to the tire proved to be too substantial for the liquid magic to do its thing. So, rather than limp the battered beast back to their hideout, the thieves abandoned it not far from the crime scene. The car, which once had a new dealer price of between $40,000 and $60,000, had "extensive damage," according to police.
And it gets worse, for at least one of the alleged crooks. While police were busy following up on leads in the case, they spotted a young man walking near the mall. As it turned out, he was the registered owner of the BMW. In fact, he had the keys to the vehicle in his pocket.

Over the years, my husband and I have usually managed to decode the cute but confusing gender signs sometimes put on restaurants' restroom doors (Buoys and Gulls, Laddies and Lassies, etc.), but every so often we get stumped.
Recently my husband Dave wandered off in search of the men's room and found himself confronted by two marked doors. One was labeled "Bronco," and the other was designated "Cactus." Completely baffled, he stopped a restaurant employee passing by. "Excuse me; I need to use the restroom," Dave said. Gesturing toward the doors, he asked, "Which one should I use?"
"Actually, we would prefer you to go there," the employee said, pointing to a door down the hall marked "Men."
Morning all! I am so in the mood to make Christmas cards.....but need to finish clearing my work space and sorting things back where they belong. Packed and mailed a small box to OWH yesterday so that took some of the piles I had stacked waiting for enough for a box.
I have new stamps and inks to play with and haven't been able to do much with them yet. That accounts for the wanting to play.

Good Morning Ladies--hope your Tuesday is starting out well. I am headed to a stamp camp this morning and then spending some time in the craft room this afternoon.
Yes--I did watch the Packer game last night and I am sure a bit frustrated this morning........... Enough Said!
I had Homemakers last night for the first time this year. We had a very good turnout - 17. There are 18 in our club. There are 8 clubs in the county and we are the biggest.
Kathleen - Glad the flooring is going well for you!
Pansy - I agree that Christmas cards are fun to make! I have been making Fall cards and they are fun to make also.
Barb - sorry about the Packers. The Vikes did real well on Sunday which was a surprise to everyone! The week before was a disaster.

reminding us that computers are amazing machines!
The Pentagon recently unveiled its new super computer to the top brass. This fantastic device, capable of making bazillions of decisions in split nanoseconds, is designed to solve all military problems with the greatest of ease. To test its capabilities, the brass poses a tactical problem to it and then asks for a decision, "Attack or Retreat?"
The computer hums a bit, blinks a myriad of lights and answers, "Yes."
The brass, somewhat confused by this answer, replies, "Yes what?"
I like the Voter Registration and the One Hit Wonder! Can you name a one hit wonder? I can! Come on Eileen, It's Raining Men, and Hey Mickey (not sure if that is the correct title)!

it's suppose to rain here this afternoon, right now cool and cloudy. I'm planning on finishing up some swaps in the craft room for October, just have one for November so i'm in good shape. My floor isn't going down very fast, my house is a total mess plus we still have living room carpet to put down so who knows when that will get down.

The Manhattan Commuter train was packed. Suddenly there was a jingle on the floor. Most necks were craned. One elderly gentleman, however, bent down and picked something up. He then asked, "Did anyone drop a half dollar?"
"I did," answered three men at once.
"Well," said the elderly gent with a smile, "here's a dime of it."
Good morning ladies! It is a little cold here this morning. Not sure of the temp but I had to start the furnace. Brr!
I bought an ATG tape gun on Ebay and got it yesterday. I have always used a little tape runner and bought the replacements at WalMart. Now WalMart, at least the one I go to, discontinued them and so I need to find something else to use. I got it threaded but haven't actually used it yet. Don't have time today.

A man decided that he was going to ride a 10-speed bike from Phoenix to Flagstaff. He got as far as Black Canyon City before the mountains just became too much and he could go no farther.
He stuck his thumb out, but after 3 hours he hadn't gotten a single person to stop. Finally a guy in a Corvette pulled over and offered him a ride. Of course, the bike wouldn't fit in the car. The owner of the Corvette found a piece of rope lying by the highway and tied it to his bumper. He tied the other end to the bike and told the man that if he got to going too fast to honk the horn on his bike and he would slow down.
Everything went fine for the first 30 miles. Suddenly, another Corvette blew past them. Not to be outdone, the Corvette pulling the bike took off after the other. A short distance down the road, the Corvettes--both going well over 120 mph--blew through a speed trap. The police officer noted the speeds from his radar gun and radioed to the other officer that he had 2 Corvettes headed his way at over 120 mph.
He then relayed, "And you're not going to believe this, but there's guy on a 10-speed bike honking to pass."

reminding us to appreciate the men in our lives!
Heather and Marcy hadn't seen each other in awhile, so they decided to meet for lunch. The talk naturally got around to their respective love lives. Marcy confided that there really wasn't anyone special in her life. Heather, on the other hand, was beaming about the new man she had found.
"He's perfect. He's handsome, and last night when we went out to dinner, he said the four little words I've been waiting to hear a man say to me!"
"He said 'will you marry me'?" Marcy asked.
Heather replied, "No, he said 'put your money away'."
