Susanne- I am the last one and if I get NEON-the next group will have fun !!!

About the Kits- I always make a note of what I used for paper, stamps and what kind of ink ive used for my images. I put it in the kit card, then the receiver knows what it is. To me it is always so with the paper because I'd often like to know from which company it is.

Heather- I wanted to check out the Dirty Challenges but i saw that i have to pay for it. I'm aiming to make less "extra" spending. I will stay with the other challenges in the www

Kathy- Luckily nothing happened to your family. In heavy traffic, it is dangerous to change a tire.

Have a great start into the new week !

Imke,

You're right-moving is stressful. But it is going to be so worth it. I can finally begin to regain my sanity. Not that I ever really totally had it, LOL.

Wow, I have been going through my craft supplies and trying to figure out how to pack it all. Thank goodness I have a craft room at the new house. It is on the smallish side, but it sure beats having nothing at all. I am very proud of myself today, as I got rid of loads of papercrafting magazines. I probably tossed about 30 or 40 of them. I went through them quickly, to find the stuff that really interested me, and then off to the recycling depo.

OMG, I hope this heat ends soon. But it is not forecasted to. I hope everyone is managing to stay safe. I find summer storms to be kind of nerve-wracking sometimes, but I really feel for people who live in areas of the U.S. (and elsewhere) where this can be really prevalent.

Anyway, I better get back to organizing craft stuff.

Lynne: We are moving too (at least that's what my hubby says though he refuses to commit to the house I have fallen in love with because it is older but I digress) Anywho, we were both in our respective hobby areas yesterday, him "cleaning" (which is really a way for him to chat with me) and I was assembling my August kit. He must of said 10 times that he doesn't know how I'm going to move all this (sweeping hand motion) stuff ... and he's right. I DO have a lot just junk. I think my paper-crafting magazines will be the first to go.

Good luck with YOUR move

JCI to say Good morning

I need to stamp some images for Denise's August card kit and will try to get it mailed by end of the week.

And, I've been working on the 6x6 page; printed off the digi side and now need to adhere to another piece of cardstock and do a bit to the backside. As I get ready to mail, I may have to ask for some addresses, but that's down the road a bit.

Wishing everyone a marvelous Monday.

Good morning ladies!

Worked the weekend; last night we celebrated Ivy's birthday when I got home...can't believe she is 14! Tonight we will celebrate my Mom's birthday...can't believe she is almost 70...you would never guess by looking at her.

Paisley is outside barking at the mailman...very fierce-like. Of course she runs up to him and he spoils her...I don't get why she has to bark...she is very friendly and wants everyone to pet her. Does anyone else's dog do this?

Angie and Joanna, I can't seem to get rid of my papercrafting magazines...I love to go back through the old ones.

Need to get a couple of cards done today for the Clearly Digital Stamps August release...formerly Clear Dollar Stamps...they have changed their name and it is hard for me to get used to it.

Won't be working on my August kits until after the 18th...we are going on a road trip that day and I will be able to visit "real" stamping/crafting stores. Yay! The lady I bought some art from at our art sale will be at a farmer's market, so we will make a day of it and shop. Ivy will be able to pick up some stuff for her room if she finds anything. Do a bit of back-to-school shopping, etc. School starts the 20th. We have to go register later today.

A young man and a toddler just walked by and stopped to pet Paisley. He was so good with the little boy...it's so awesome to see men being great Dads!

Hope you all are having a super Monday!

Angela: I guess with the advent of Pinterest, I don't really need my magazines. I say this as I haven't looked through them in YEARS! Who knows, there could be an amazing gem in them that I have totally forgotten!

Happy birthday Ivy (and Mom!)

Hold on sis: I sat down with a cup of coffee and went page by page--yanked the good fun pages--cut my stack by at least 100 lbs! Put the loose pages in an "idea folder"...maybe get to them someday--but at least I got the goods more compacted!

Rolly Carts--the answer to all clutter--they have wheels--tape up the open side with each drawer labeled...have the movers line em up!

PS...Love the <waving of the hand motion> funny...

Hello, Ladies! Sorry I have been slacking in posting -- I really don't like how SCS stops sending reminders after one. Except for rak, which I always get??

I am so looking forward to school starting because this summer has been non-stop. Losing one of our favorite nurses didn't help, but we are in the process of training a new gal now.

Linda -- glad to hear Sherrill is doing well.

Susanne -- same for Muddy. I missed what happened?

I am so sorry for not posting my questionnaire. Will do that soon! Today was school physicals and sports meetings. Maybe tomorrow?

Example: Last swap Danielle sent me some images and when I asked her "who or where" they came from...because I really loved a couple of them-she didn't know--they were from some other swap she was in...boo hoo for me--I wanted to run out and buy those stamps! Is this me being to pickiunish?

I am with you Susanne, I like to know what my kits include. I love to know what the images are!

I am taking Sherrill to her throat specialist in the morning. She is pretty scared, her doctor told her that she was sure it was either pre cancerous or cancer, not sure how she would know before any test????

The fires were about 2 hours away. They evacuated to Cushing which is where my step kids live.

I am staying at my Brothers until in the moring, so this is the first time I have been on my computer since Saturday.

I hope everyone is ok!

It has been torture parting with a lot of the magazines, but it had to be done. The scary thing is in another year or so, I'll probably have almost as many again. I'm going to have to decide on my absolute favorites and stick to those. I really like Paper Crafts, and CardMaker magazine. I'm thinking of giving up on Scrap & Stamp, though. I also really like Take Ten, and sometimes the Stamper's Sampler from Stampington and Company. But they all cost a fortune, so I am glad they are only each published 4 x's a year. I also read some UK ones, but I'm going to get a little more particular about those.

I hate to moan about the heat again, but it is driving me crazy! And it is supposed to last all week. I can't wait until winter. Give me -30 temperatures!

Hi Jess! Glad to see you! Muddy had a "lump" that was exposed near his prostate--we had it aspirated and the cells were questionable. He had surgery to remove this lump (thankfully it was not attached to muscle or anything else---a clean removal)...we get the stitches out this coming Saturday and will or may not have news as to what this is for another couple of days! That's pretty much it in a nutshell....he's been fine though--eating and just himself (moochin' snacks)..typical Lab...waiting to lick our plates at dinner! So, maybe he missed the big "C" this time? I am only hoping...he's been through a lot in his prime age of "9"!

WOW SCS got a pretty face lift huh?...So colorful when you open this doc! I actually had to think where to go to get here tonight! It's really supportive to the vendors was my first impression--how cool is that?

On another good note--our humidity broke tonight--I am feeling cool outside air down here for the first time in weeks! The problem is; it gets muggy outside, we shut down all the doors and windows and the flow of air to the basement is cut off--Tom and I always say...the second week of August it cools down here...

My neighbor Lisa asked if I would take care of her dogs tomorrow--and to feel free to use their pool! Um...yes! So that is the plan for part of tomorrow--bliss! I not only use their pool to cool my old bones...but to stretch out my back, legs...get some exercise! There is nothing like a pool to stretch out all the kinks--I have never been a runner---swimming is what I do best--or floating so my entire spine can relax!

Everyone...have a good Tuesday-I plan on getting up and out early!

I hope he's okay. One of our previous dogs had a cancer scare, (he did have a cancerous tumor removed) and it was certainly no fun. However, the current 2 seem to be healthy, although the one is gradually starting to show signs of aging. Wrinkles, ha ha! No, seriously he is just starting to tire out a lot easier and generally has less energy. And his stomach is less tolerant as time goes on. I really hope we don't get any crazy storms tonight. The other week we actually had a tornado warning and had to load everyone in the car. I can't begin to tell you what fun that is when you have 2 large dogs, a rabbit, and 3 birds. Good times!!

And the cockatiel just laid an egg. I just discovered it now. Which would be wonderful if she had actually mated, and THEN produced this egg. But no, it just happens randomly for some reason. It may not sound like a big deal, but most birds run the risk of becoming eggbound, essentially meaning they can't "give birth" to the egg without severely injuring or killing themselves. The egg is HUGE. Even if that goes well, sometimes they want to sit on the egg too long, and they lose way too much energy this way, as they sometimes lose the desire to eat/drink/care for themselves. And to think the pet store I got her from said "she" was a male. Well, the first time she laid an egg, it was pretty evident it wasn't a male bird.

My August kits are going at the end of the month too (Denise--our first person in group 1)...Get this one--on behalf of the Olympics---my LSS is hosting a 1 minute marathon run through their store (Absolutely Everything)...you were only allowed to enter if you spent $25 or more "bucket of names" (which I succeeded several times)...IF...my name gets called---I will be running this Sunday...if not, I will be shopping since there is a NO TAX weekend in Massachusetts this weekend (win-win)..although I am hoping they call my name for the big marathon run! haha...I have to go and see the excitement--it's just too much fun-like a lottery ticket with your name on it!!! Here's wishin'!

I have so many projects going you would think I was catatonic here! Quilling in one corner, paper quilt in another...cards everywhere 1/2 finished---this girl needs a cool basement and a big lot of time! Oh Joann's had a 4/$1.00 sale on their cardstock and their DMVW matte stacks are on sale this week! I just happened to pop in there and see this while shopping for "fish themed ribbon"....Yes, I bought 40 sheets of CS for $7.50 with their extra 25% coupon on all items! It's just sick isn't it? USA is on sale! Anyway, I am headed for the dies, new stamps and Copic's if I get called for the marathon run!!!

Lynne, I just hope this is 'just a scare' for Muddy--he's been through a lot with a broken leg (2 surgeries and 4 parts broken--he has a metal rod in his front arm/paw now and manages well with it) and he has had to take anti seizure meds...he's done with all the medical stuff--he's only "9"...so much of the fun stuff of his life has been limited in the past years...he's my buddy too--a real mama's boy..so I am keeping positive and hoping they got all the "gook" out of him and his remaining years will be good.

Susanne: what happens in the minute run? Is everything you grab free? Archivers called me yesterday to tell me that all their stamps were 43% off today. I had gotten the coupon in my e-mail and thought it was kind of ... odd that they were calling. Ken turned to me and said, "how much do you spend at that store?"

YES! Oops did I forget that point in the "marathon"..You can only grab (1) item in a product--they may be different styles--but no handfuls of the same color Copic marker color or Spellbinders die! But I can grab all different things and I need to be able to hold it in my arms--no wearing a big t shirt and using the front of it as a huge pocket! So I am thinking short sleeves so things can go up under my arm pits? (This is all dream land for me to even be thinking about this--but the 'what if' I win--you must think about this right?)

Funny about Archivers calling you...funny that Ken said exactly what I was thinking..wow...Do they keep all the scrappers #s on tap over there?

I received my "Stumble Upon" email and sent you an idea to recycle your magazines...go see your email!

Linda -- prayers and best wishes for Sherrill's results to be good ones! Waiting is such a stressful time!

Susanne -- let us know when you receive Muddy's biopsy results. If I had to bet, I would bet on something benign because the location isn't one famous for tumors in a neutered dog.

Joanna -- too funny about the Archiver's call! DD just remarked that it was strange that our pharmacist knew me by name, but we are in there every week for Kara's meds. Maybe that gives them a bit of empathy??

Sherrill went to her throat specialist today. She was pretty funny, on pain meds since her surgery was Friday. He was a very good looking guy and she came out of her exam saying to me that he was so HOT, she could go to the Dr. everyday to see him. Very remarkable change from the girl who was too scared to go by herself...by the way, he could not find any lesions at all. He scheduled her for 6 weeks to look again after talking to the Dr. that saw them when putting in her breathing tube. Answered Prayers!

So glad Muddy is still improving and doing great. Hoping you get to do the craft run Suzanne.

I'm worn out, company from TX left today and Denise came home so we could all take Sherrill to Dr. We had to get up early and I can't hold my eyes open so hard to stay on the computer. Will rest and really read everything tomorrow.

What a relief Linda! And delivered from a "hot" Dr...what could be better? LOL

Susanne, you are making me laugh.... I can see you running around the stamp shop with items under your pitts...oh my, girl! You are too much! In a good way, of course...after the yucky day I had I needed a laugh.

I made chicken taco salad tonight, which included tomatoes from the garden and a fresh red pepper...so good!

Davis and I are getting ready to go stake up some of the tomatoes...I didn't have enough cages and they got too big before I bought new ones. We have had a lot of grape and cherry, now the romas are getting ripe. I can't wait to make my favorite salad when I get a good-size batch!

Muddy is fine!!!! No cancer no questionable cells....they think it was scar tissue from what? We don't know--he must have hurt himself somewhere (although he is not let off his lead since his broken leg) Everything clean! Jess...you were right! I am really relieved because I just could not do the dog treatments (if they have such a thing) to have him suffer? So, for whatever reason this had to happen...as my local casual friend said "This too shall pass"<--although that was kinda tough to hear while going through it!

So, here's a room question. Have any of you ever had a reading done by a psychic? K loves this stuff--she's had some nice promising things told via her "cards" but I don't really get the whole 'hocus pocus' stuff and to be frank--it's all a lil' weary to me. If they can pick up vibes from a person...how come they are not winning the lottery every week? <smirk> Well, K went to a street fair last week and there was a psychic special 15 minutes for $20. Her beau Dustin could not go in while she was having her reading done. {K thought that was strange--but went in anyway.} The psychic says; K will be married by 24, have a boy and girl babies, then she asked if someone passed away recently...if someone separated (standard questions?) but both have occurred recently in both Tom's family and my family (K was not aware of either of these facts.) Then, get this--the psychic says to K..."I see a dark ora around you--and your family has a Hex!" Then, time was up and the psychic proceeded to invite K for a longer reading at another time! Isn't this awful? Of course I got goosebumps and thought I have to ask Fr. to bless us at mass on Sunday!!! Anyone else have something strange like this happen? Eeek! I think this psychic is awful for line- driving those comments at my daughter--what an awful way about her! If this is a sales technique--what if someone took her seriously and scared them too much?

Angela--glad I could lighten your day--I am planning a strategic run--armpits, neck, chin...heck..there's enough to go around! headband? stretchypants? I would have to see if these "collection areas" are allowed--listen to me hahahaha..As If!

Linda/Denise--thank goodness Sherrill has good news! I always feel so self conscious going to a cute dentist or doctor--it's like I can't relax-! I have a funny story about this for next time. So good to hear Sherrill passed in flying colors!

Angela--yum on the dinner menu--I have tried fish tacos and didn't care for them (my healthy cousin raves about her fish tacos...I missed the ground beef and flavor!!!hahaha) I should try chicken tacos...next week! Thanks for the idea! I may buy the roaster chicken so it's super tender and cut out 1/2 the work!

Wonderful news Linda for you and your family.

Susanna Danna glad your buddy got good news too!!
I did go to a psychic at a fall festival once and she didn't say anything really bad but she was acting like my future was going to suck...I think about that from time to time and wonder why she didn't see any of the good stuff that's happened to me. wink!

Hurray for Muddy. Glad to hear he is okay.

No psychic for me. I don't need to hear bad news. When it comes, it comes.

Getting my kit together. Maybe I can even mail it on Friday.

Susanne: I went to a psychic with a friend once. I thought it was a bunch of who-hah. Are there people who can sense things? Maybe. But I certainly don't think that most people (especially those who predict something bad and then ask if you want to extend your session) are valid.

Ken has no patience for people who are into that stuff. I used to team teach with someone who believed. She once hired a shaman to "smoke" and cleanse our classroom when we were having a rough year with a couple of our students. And later that summer when Ken and I were helping Lane move out of our classroom (she was retiring), he teased her. While driving to her house Ken screeched the car to a halt in the middle of the road, got out and shouted to Lane that he could "feel a vortex, and a disturbance ... and she should drive carefully around that area." Poor Lane. I admit that I giggled but it probably wasn't very nice.

So, for this round, the kit is to arrive by the 28th of each month again? Would that be correct?

Lynne, my goal in sending kits is to make it by the (end) of the month with no specific date in mind! But, if someone is running late--we just let them know 'itsa comin' so I think we all understand life gets in the way on occasion!

QueenieJO--yikes...haha 'feel a vortex' Wasn't Ken afraid Lane would be stickin' pins in a clothe doll named "Ken" that night??!!! haha Too funny! Did the smoke out work?

I have to share something here--you know how we all 'leave some love' when each of us post a card (across the hall)--or in general--see a nice picture--leave some love. Well, you know I am involved in a mini swap across the ocean with my sister, her friend, and my friend. My sister has a tendency to state what she likes/dislikes which in turn disses others cards like a 'mental toss into the trash can'...and I need to tell her this w/o making her feel bad! I will post some of our cards--I love to see everyone's unique take on each of the images (as we all do in our card swap across the hall)...

She always says, "Well you all know I don't like a lot of "junk" on my cards...(I think, yeah, OK, but do you have to type that out loud? Or she'll say...I like M's card because it doesn't have a lot of junk on it!) Sometimes reprimanding someone's choice of words can be so difficult--Where's Dear Abbey when you need her?!
