Have a fabulous Monday everyone--it's like a holiday here--play day hopefully!

Denise---need to share this with you---Did you see the florals on my cards for my sister's wedding gifts (purple, orange & white)...you gave me a lil'-- couple of groupings of these exact colored flowers in my kit--When I was making her cards (odd colors for anything but Halloween I thought)...I found these flowers from your kit in my flower drawer--they could not be MORE PERFECT for her card! So thank you! I love this when it happens....just a lil' something off the beaten path and it fits a card perfectly!

Still just a "windy drizzle Sandy" up here so far--roads empty--saw a few branches down off the side of the roads--ran to get iced coffee at Dunks and a bag of doggie food at S&S...no traffic...so far so good here!

PS. the 'odd colors for anything but Halloween' comment was in reference to her wedding--not your lovely choice of colors...but they do things differently over there--my other friend Ali goes on these hot pink/red/neon lime green bursts every now and again

Kathy and Susanne, we are watching the weather and thinking of you guys. Stay safe and know you are in our prayers. You are both probably used to getting ready for these storms but it looks scary to me.

We are used to tornadoes and I don't really worry about them or pay a lot of attention until I know it is coming right at us or family, then I worry.

Tracie, that was an awesome package you received. So many goodies to play with. You are going to have fun.

Susanne, I thought you did such a great job on the wedding gift and I hope your sister is over her little fit. I am sure as siblings you are used to her but I think she was rude to you and it was uncalled for. You are the better person and glad you are not worrying about it. I love your criss cross card. I've made one a long time ago, but seeing yours makes me want to make one. I might just do that today.

Imke, hoping you had a good day. I wish I knew what the time difference is between you and USA. Do you know?

Patriciae, hope you had a great and restful weekend. I love October Afternoon paper too.

I'd have to go back and look at my book to see what I've received, but mine are with Kathleen and will be sent out with her pages. Not sure the status of her pages.

Linda- We are ahead to EST 5 Hours , CST 6 hours, MST 7 hours and PST 8 hours. When you get up in the morning, lunch is on me already.

Susanne- Your criss cross cards looks fabulous. Once I tried this technique. But in normal size. AND iīm glad that your gift arrived even if it is one day too late.

Scrap Pages- Susanne, you are right but on my list Angela is also still missing. Joanna has sent my Scrap Pages out to you all before yesterday. She had offered that she sent her own with mine. Unfortunately, she did not finish hers because of the new house, new puppie...She has so much to do. The more I thank her that she has now sent my separately.

Joanna- Even if it has been planned differently, huge thanks for your effort !!! You know, I just wanted to make any additional stress !

All along the coast (i think form this group there are "only" Kathy and Susanne) be careful and stay safe. Only 6 hours until he meets on land. I hope it is not as bad as feared. I donīt want to hear bad news tomorrow morning in TV. Please !!

JCI to say hello. Took my youngest DD for colonoscopy today. All went well and thankfully no problems found.

My ear is doing better; I can tell a noticeable difference, so I'm hoping that when Dec. 7 rolls around it will be totally clear.

Watching news and what's happening with Sandy; even thought it's been downgraded to tropical storm there is still a lot of damage and wind and lots of snow in the forecast. I do pray that no lives are lost.

DH found a netflix movie for us to watch so will go for now!

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Hi ladies! Just thought I'd stop in quick while we still have power. Power was off most of the night here at home. Even we have been hit hard by Sandy as she collided with a front coming from the west. We've had nonstop driving rain, winds up to 65 mph, and power outages throughout the city. 15-20 foot waves on Lake Erie were coming ashore over the interstate that runs alongside the lake, and they had to close that portion of the interstate, plus many other roads. I was at work all night, and since we had backup generator power there, we could watch the news ono a small TV in our conference room. Most all of the schools in the area are closed. Looks like NYC got hit hard, I am thankful it's not as bad here, but it's not good here, either. Thinking of Kathy and Susanne, since we've had power out and LOTS of flooding, it must be so much worse there. The drive home this morning was treacherous without traffic lights ( I work in the inner city, and live in a heavily populated, heavy traffic suburb)I came home to a flooded basement, and we can't really do anything til the horizontal rain and winds stop. The winds knocked our neighbor's privacy fence into our yard, which drove our driveway width gate (heavy and large) into the house and ripped off some of our siding. It's crazy here!

Will try to keep up and check in to see that Sus and Kathy are okay....if you have a few extra prayers, send a couple our way please!

Kathy, here's hoping you are able to check in and see that I also received a gorgeous card from you!! I really love your creations!

And, Vickie, glad to hear your ear is doing better, and hope it's all healed VERY soon!

With that, I will say goodbye again....

Vickie so glad to know you are feeling better. Thank goodness.

Patti, so sorry you are going through all of this. I never thought you were in danger so I am adding you to the prayer list. So glad nothing worse happened. Your home can be fixed, your lives are worth so much more than siding. So glad YOU are safe. That sounds scary driving with no traffic lights. Take care of yourself. Will you and your DH still be able to get to work?

Patti, and everyon affected by the storm, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks to all for the well wishes about my ear!

Going to fix lunch (kinda late, but Pinterest held my interest for a little too long!)

Wishing everyone a safe day!

Patti- You are in my thoughts. As Linda said, I did not think too that you also might be affected. Damage can be repaired. Fortunately, you are safe and you are well.

Iīve read in our D2D messages that Kathy is without power. She has logged in with her i-phone. I'll take that as a good sign that she could report at all.

I hope everyone else is OK .

Hello, ladies! Received a text message from our own Susanna-danna this morning--they are safe, have power back on, but no cable/internet service yet. She wanted me to stop in and update you all. Can't wait to have her joyous presence back here soon!

So relieved and so thankful to know Susanne and Kathy are safe and you to Patti! I was afraid you were also without power. Thank goodness for smart phones. At least Susanne can function with power, to bad about her internet. I miss her.

Vickie is your ear still improving? Will you fly again? Isn't the flight pressure what caused this. That would be sad if you can't. When I fly my ears sometimes hurt from the pressure but always been able to make them pop. I have minor problems with my ears anyway so it is scary what has happened to you.

Denise, thanks for sharing. Loved John's purple shirt and tie. Of course Annamarie's dress is so cute and the girls dresses. That kind of informal wedding is the kind I like to go to. Of course you know I love the boardwalk at Eureka and what is across the bay, Woodley Island.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hello Ladies! Just seconds ago Patrick yelled downstairs..."WE GOT CABLE!!!" Then I rec'd a text from my neighbor Bob..."Dr. Phil is on--go watch TV!" hahaha

Wow, I just peeked at some the of the devastation on my Comcast home page--WOW! Here's the thing--when one loses cable/TV/internet--and power--you become so disconnected to the world! Last bit of news I heard (which was false) was that the NYC Stock exchange was under water!!!) To see the visuals--they look so much like a horror movie!

Thanks Patti for relaying my message <<<<hugs>>>> to you my friend--no fun having a flooded basement<--that happened to us a few years ago (made me go out and put everything in the basement in plastic containers! Threw out pounds and pounds of paper since I kept it in low lying areas! der!

Need to catch up--167 emails in 2 days?...brb Yeah...we're OK!

I have no right to complain--really--power out from Monday (right after being on here) to Tuesday around 2pm...then, right after dinner from about 8pm to 10:30 pm last night (after this fierce-fast thunderstorm came rambling through--Muddy heard it from a distance--ran to me down here and was just all wiggy. By the time I shut the lights off--we were running around the house closing windows (it was muggy here last night in the 50s)...so dogs know!

My biggest pet peeve is; when you call National Grid (electric company) and Comcast (cable/tv/phone/wifi) they put on this stupid recording---"We are experiencing some downtime on our system--for more information, please go to our website at....!" Omgosh, so frustrating to hear when you have no power or cable! None of us own a Iphone either! So...that's that! Chalk up Sandy as another big one! I hope everyone in her wrath (still) are OK.

I was! haha...But mostly out of boredom! I deleted my mailbox in/out of junk mail, cleaned the house, put away laundry, played Scrabble, knit my cowl scarf on my Knifty Knitter--drank some wine with DH so we managed. How many times did I walk to the bathroom and flip the switch ON? hahaha

We are buying more of these battery operated lamps--they light an entire room! I finally was able to buy "D" batteries at Staples on Monday-bought (2) 12 packs...just in case!

So all is well... thanks for thinkin' of me.../us! : )

Thanks Patti! When I finally was able to chat with my bro John in Hudson, OH, they didn't make it sound like anything big there--didn't lose power and no water by their house! Amazing how little action they got from this storm! Looking into my sump pump hole--it's a lil' wet but never came over the top! We really lucked out this time! Shane--down in Bridgewater U lost nothing--he was texting how he was hangin' w/ his roomies playing xbox...tv...classes were cancelled and they got to play! Good for him--I'd have been wiggy if I knew they were busing kids off campus somewhere!

We have a few trees down in the forest part of our back yard--a few places have had huge trees ripped from their roots--toppled over on phone lines and front yards--I guess our road was closed until late Tuesday--we are surrounded by water (lakes, ponds, creeks) but no water issues near us! It's clammy cool out now--finally broke that muggy yuk weather we've been having...which wound up being a plus since no power/no heat! So someone was looking out for us on this storm.

Glad everyone is safe!!!

I had to come post a picture of Claire for everyone. Our Halloween was just ducky! We did pumpkins last night, which wasn't that interesting to her. She did like to eat the pumpkin though. Then tonight we had friends come by and admire her costume and then we bundled up tight for a quick neighborhood walk. It's cold tonight with some windchill, so we tried not to stay out for too long.

I am sitting up waiting tonight for Kala--she went to a 'horror movie marathon' with some friends and said she'd by home by 12:30! I have another hour to go.

I just caught up on the new @ the abc.com channel "20/20" of the storm--WOW! I will have to email/text Tom's cousin and aunt to see how they are holding out down there.

I finally made a Halloween criss-cross card to send to Ali (in England) with a letter of course--they don't really celebrate Halloween there so it's still a novelty. I can now make these cards w/o thinking about it! The more crazy patterns the better! Plus, how can you not have fun with the DCWV halloween pattern book?

Hope all is well-think I'll go ck out facebook to kill some time here.

Susanne- It's so good to hear from you and then you are still spared ! There is no better news.

Patti- I hope you could clean up the flood in the basement already. Hopefully you have not too much damage.

Heather- OMG, Claire looks super duper cute in her duck costume. How sweet !!

Now we're just waiting for Kathy. I also hope she's all right too.

Good morning!

Heather, Claire looks adorable...what a fun costume!

So happy to hear that everyone is okay, but what about Kathleen? Has anyone heard from her recently?

I have been glued to the TV about the storm coverage. It is really a nightmare there in NJ/NYC/NY--running out of gas for cars...lines...I just suggested to Tom that we put out an invitation to invite his relatives up here to stay with all of us! I am going to call/text today-some of them are on the outskirts of NYC and I have not heard their towns mentioned--but the weather has turned colder--here/there, the power is not on yet--the devastation is remarkable--speechless!

Imke--so sweet--thanks for the warm fuzzy.

I totally forgot I had Patti's cell # so I thought I'd try and jot her a quick note--we took turns going for a ride in the car to charge our cells! Nothing compared to NY NJ ...but you have to think about these silly things--Patrick was in the driveway -in Tom's car listening to music while charging his phone Monday night--just enough to get a few bars so he could text with his friends. We had already cracked open some wine and were playing Scrabble by battery operated lamp light that Tom jimmied into the light fixture on the ceiling! Funny how our skills come out when needed! I am going to buy some more of the camping style battery operated lamps--wow they lit up an entire room! No more candles! When I walked into Walmart yesterday--they had this huge-huge "Energizer" display (the size of a Buick) at the front entrance-need to buy some AA's for my toothbrush now!

Heather, Claire is so adorable in her little ducky costume! Cute!

Linda, the pressure from the descent on the flight cause my ear problem. I also had a problem after the first flight to Kansas City in that I lost my voice, but didn't associate it with the flight (but my doc said it probably was the culprit) so I was very froggy while visiting with Tracie those 4 days! Then, on the return flight home since I already had a ear and throat problem it was compounded during that flight. It is somewhat better now, but still plugged feeling...grrrr...I think I'll probably end up having some kind of needle work done there! But, the good news is, I will be able to fly again. My doctor told me to use Afrin nasal spray just before takeoff and again on descent and that should help relieve the pressure. My next flying adventure will be in June or July to Texas!

Susanne, sounds like you found ways to entertain yourself without power! Praying that those who are still without power stay safe.

I have a couple more HYCCT cards to upload, but didn't get all the challenges done, but did more than I did the past two years when participating.

Need to go for now; have a great day!

Keep going, Vickie! We have until the 7th to upload.

I did better that I thought I would. I have 8 more to do. I'm just moaning about the cork challenge. Cork!?! Really!?!?

Claire is a living doll. I love her costume. She is just so cute. Thanks for sharing her photo with us.

Susanne, I never thought your family would have a dull moment without power or cable. Sounds like fun. Sometimes I think the electronics get in the way with good family time. So glad all is well again.

Vickie, that is good to know about the Afrin nasal spray. I think I'll try that myself next time I fly and I am so glad there is a way you can still fly. Hope the pressure is even better today.

Kathleen posted again on fb the words NO Power! So hopefully she is okay just without power. I hope she is not where the gas leaks in NJ are going on. I need to look her up on the atlas.

Imke, hoping you aren't having too much cold weather already.

Everyone have a great day.
