I also must say, moving is exciting, but I'm going to be glad when the whole process is over. Craziness!

Tonight, after dinner DH and I went for a ride 'to get out of the house and catch up'...I suggested we get me an iced coffee at Dunks...and drive to "look" at the beach...as the sky was starting to darken. Just as we approached this end of the last road towards the beach---the sky opened up and poured for about 3 solid minutes--we kept driving north on Route 1...we arrived at Hampton Beach (which is only about 3 minutes from the rain storm)...not a single thing is wet there! No rain--there was a band playing live tunes at the Pavillion...isn't that odd---it's like rain at my house....and no rain on the rest of the block?! It reminds me of a child's drawing where rain is only coming out of one cloud formation...and there's my visual for tonight! <smiles>

So far Muddy's doing well--just gave him his antibiotics...he's ready for bed!
Have a good night all!

I don't think it matters who originally asked the question. It was answered and that is the main thing.

I love doing one big kit per person---then I can really focus and get a theme rollin' for them! I know, I get a lil' carried away with foot wear and goofy things...but what can I say...I just gotta be ME! hahaha Have a fabulous Friday ladies--hot here already-you could cut the humidity with a knife--AC is powered ON!

Congrats Heather, enjoy your few hours of crafty time!

Angela, did you finish Ivy's room while she was away?

Imke, when is the diving trip coming up? Bet you are looking forward to it!

We just got back from the farm, picking up our CSA produce for the week. Finn and Lilah love to go, cause they can feed the goats and pig, big excitement for them! We got some u-pick golden cherry tomatoes today, and they like that, too. Last week they weren't too good about finding the ripe ones, so I had a lot of green cherry tomatoes ripening on the window sill all week, lol.

Susanne, how's Muddy making out? Is he healing well? Poor guy!

Angie, good luck with the move. Are you moving far from where you are now? Moving is exciting, but hard work, too. Hope it goes smoothly!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm taking the intermediate copic certification tomorrow. It is only 45 minutes away, so I couldn't resist. Don't think I've seen the classes that close before. Looking forward to it.

Just letting everyone know Sherrill is doing good, sleeping a lot of course. They say she will go home tomorrow. Everything was fine, they left one ovary. Denise is staying with her. Now to get her over this surgery and her throat check up on Aug. 15th and then hopefully all will be well.

Company was here when I got home from the hospital so it was meal time for everyone. I hadn't seen Glenda and the kids since Thanksgiving and have those kids shot up. They are really growing up. Lander is enrolled in college in Houston and the girls are going to be a Freshman and a Junior.

Off to get some things done around here.

I'm not really moving that far away from where I am now. Camrose (where I am now) is only about an hour away from Edmonton, so the distance isn't too great. However, Camrose is a tiny, very conservative, very religious community, and Edmonton is big, diverse, and laid-back. I am greatly looking forward to spending more time with friends again, and to actually having a public transportation system. Because I was raised in Edmonton, I never bothered learning how to drive, and driving is the only mode of transport in Camrose. They are too cheap (ironically, almost everyone has lots of money) to put any kind of bus system in here, even a route that would just go from one end of the city to the other.

Hi ladies!

Susanne, glad Mr. Muddy is doing well...that's great news! Would you believe Paisley is 18 weeks today and she tips the scale at 47 pounds? My brother didn't believe Ivy when she told him! The baby hound doesn't look like a baby at all....

Linda, so glad everything is going well with Sherrill; it must be such a relief for you.

Heather, what did you do today?

Kathleen, the room is not done yet. Our contractor is going back to work next Tuesday; he and DH will put up the railing and baseboard. DH was staining the newel posts today...they look very nice. The electrician is coming around the 12th...the only room with a "real" light is the bathroom, otherwise there are pigtails everywhere else. The fixtures are all upstairs ready to go.

I have not heard of some of the stamp/image companies mentioned...must check them out!

The kids wanted to go to Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days, so we went. It was cute.

Angela---I saw this family walking a brand new chocolate Lab today and wanted to stop the car and hold him! (Puppy fix) Thanks for your good thoughts and wishes for Muddyman--he's doing well. I had to move his antibiotic into his daily pill case to remember (2ce a day) for him--I cannot remember if I gave him one early this morning so I skipped tonight and will proceed with the pill case tomorrow morning! Ya know, everything seems to melt into one day around here + old age and a busy schedule-der!

It's still 83 degrees on my temperature gage--I just fired up the AC in our bedroom--Linda/Denise...you all must be on fire down in Kansas--115 this week? Yikes! Glad to hear Sherrill's surgery was a success and no, I didn't know they let family members bunk in the patients rooms--is that something new in the hospital world? Years ago when my oldest bro John was in ICU...I slept on a chair next to his bed with my jacket as my blanket and my purse as my pillow!

Kathleen--have fun at your Copic class--I would love to take one some time--Also, cute that the kids are helping "pick" the weekly grocery veggies--We used to pick apples and I think 1/2 the branches from the tree were in our apple bags!

Shane got a kick out of the USA Basketball Olympians vs. Africa --we won like 179 to 80 pts..no mercy law in the Olympics! Tomorrow at 9:30 est the Lithuanian's play USA...I am torn--they are supposed to be a good team! Should be fun to hear the outcome of that-I cannot watch that on TV--too tedious!

Well, have a great weekend everyone!

You are so right Susanne. This week's temps have been horrible. You can't do anything but stay in under the AC. In Oklahoma there is no such thing as turning your air off and on, once it is on it stays on until fall and the temps fall below 80 as it is still really humid.

So glad Muddy is doing so good. We know he is getting some spoiling. Keep us up on how he does.

Hmmmm, I will send it on to you!!! hahahahahahaha!!!

Sherrill got to go home today! I spent the night with her and she did great. She was up walking around yesterday and they took her cath out later in the evening. She was so ready to go home today. The had her in the OB department which is where they put ladies at home too who have women issues. It makes it really nice. She did start throwing up on the ride home, but sleeping now.

I am at Mom's right now, going to my brothers later to spend a couple of nights, will be good to get to spend some extra time with him.

It is so hot here, was supposed to be 112 again today!!!!

Great Room Question:
Question for the group, what are your favorite extras in kits? Sentiments? Punched shapes? Embossed pieces? Extra images? Extra patterned paper? I LOVE THE PUNCHED SHAPES!

I hope that everyone is doing ok!!!

Linda I'm so glad to hear your happy news!!

News flash for all of the 6x6 scrapbook page girls...I have seven finished just five more to go!! Hope I can get them mailed out next weekend. I have some cards I need to make today and tomorrow so I need to put scrapbook on the back burner for a couple of days.

Hope everyone is staying cool...we are like Linda in this area, the a/c goes on and stays on until fall. Very humid here today and hot, I got my errands finished early but still glad to get back home out of the heat. I was running errands at...JOANNE'S and found that they are having a wonderful sale. They have these buttons I really like there and they were 50% off AND when you checked out you got another 25% off everything sale and not on sale!! What a deal!! Got a big bag of stuff for $12!!

We had a bad storm but no tornado thank goodness. I haven't seen the news about fires but do know that for the 5th day in a row it was 112 degree. We got a little rain but not enough to soak the ground.

I've had company for 3 days and haven't seen any TV that we normally watch, the kids either watching something or we watched the Olympics. I am so behind on the computer. I will probably not get to read and catch up until tomorrow night or Monday morning.

The birthday party is tomorrow.

Linda, it's been 112???!!!! Holy moly, that is terrible, stay cool if you can. Happy Birthday to Glenn. Hope the party goes well!

Pat, way to go! You are more than half way! Can't wait to see your pages!

Heather, what did you do with the free time?

Suzanne, glad Muddy is doing well. Must be a relief for you.

Denise and Linda, so glad Sherrill is home and doing OK. She's lucky you are there for her Denise, I'm sure that is making everything a bit easier on her.

My copic class was fun today. But, right when I got there, my husband texted me. He was taking the kids to his parents' house today for his mom's birthday and got a flat on the way! It was a busy highway where it happened. He changed it and was fine. I'm so glad it was OK, and that I wasn't the one driving, I would have been a wreck!

Off to bed! Hope you all have a great night.

Angela, I ended up working on the Dare to Get Dirty challenges, although I wasn't quite as productive as I would have liked. I dropped a stamp (a little word) and had a heck of a time finding it. I just couldn't make myself move on from the unfinished card to do something else. I finally found the stamp.

I got about 2 hours to myself and then Claire came home. My mom came over and visited with her a bit, so that was nice. Then, when DH came home we went out for a quick bite to eat and then to meet friends for ice cream.

Today was SUPER busy. We've been wanting to rearrange our downstairs a bit to make more room for Claire's toys and to play. Finally did it today, but it was a heck of a lot of work and DH and I were crabbing at each other a bit by the time we finished. Because we were so busy, Claire didn't nap well today, so she was SOOOO tired. I just put her to bed a few minutes ago and she went pretty fast. I hope she gets a good sleep because we have family to visit tomorrow.

Denise and Linda, hope Sherrill's doing well today!

Denise: hahaha...was wondering when you would see my NEON comment! You can decorate our envies with NEON!!! Pat...watch out, if Denise forks over "neon's" to me...you are next on the list to receive!!! <Smiles>

78 Degrees @ 9:30am here--feels like 178 with humidity! I hear Tuesday this humidity will break! Amen!

I had to postpone my class that was schedule yesterday--(not sure if I already mentioned this in here) only (2) of the (7) crafter's signed up, (and one of them was leaving early), the humidity in my basement was so thick this week, you could cut it with a knife, I didn't know how good/bad Muddy's re-coop was going to be--with no one home for a good part of yesterday--to care for him or run and get the food for the class--needless to say--we are rescheduling yesterday's class for late Sept/Oct. I was so bummed out but--it was not in the cards for this week and rather than act like a bafoon trying to juggle class, sweat and take care of a dog I chose to postpone! My basement has never been this hot (record temps all month have lingered down here) and I would rather have a nice "cool" class rather than have to drag things up to the dining room to work.

On a happier note--I have been commissioned to design a large Quilled wall art piece! This should be interesting and I really need to screw on my thinking cap--so who knows what it will be and I have months to work on this project (on the side)...

Enjoy your Sunday everyone! Happy Birthday Glenn!

Heather---I remember the days when my DH and I crawled around our first house when Kala started to move...to have a baby's point of view at wall fixtures and things she could get into on her own. We never looked at furniture (corners/sharp edges) like we did that day--we had to change our living room and block off our loft on the second level--not up to code! (We wondered how this passed inspection when we bought the house...and until we had kids-never thought about it!) We had a carpenter come and build a door to close off the peek-a-book hole that looked down on the living room! We could not fill in the hole because it would screw up our heating circulation! We did so many things to try and make the house work after the kids were born--and as they grew the space was eaten up by toys and closing off parts when they were mobile--that house didn't make sense any more!

The day K learned how to climb stairs--I remember sitting next to the stairs then blocking the front door and staircase with dining room chairs--DH came home and he could not get in the front door--that night we ran to Wal-mart to buy 4 baby gates!!! My house was a babygate maze! (Wow, this just brought back 100 memories!!!) haha

Denise's question about extra's: My thing is I love all of that stuff (not picky)...but what I really want to know is when someone sends 'extra images' I want to know the manufacturer of those images--just in case I really love an image or sentiment--then I know where to buy the stamp!

Example: Last swap Danielle sent me some images and when I asked her "who or where" they came from...because I really loved a couple of them-she didn't know--they were from some other swap she was in...boo hoo for me--I wanted to run out and buy those stamps! Is this me being to pickiunish?

Susanne, laughing about the baby gates, we JUST (last week) took most of them down. We are down to one, from 6. Whew, doesn't look so much like a jail anymore, lol!

Good tip about name/manufacturer of images, I never think to do that, but if anyone needed to know, I could find the name. Think I'll start labeling them!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Funny, Ken and I were just discussing whether we should unscrew the baby locks on all the cabinets. You know that they aren't needed when the seven year old simply reaches for the magnet and unlocks the door to get more cups. We're getting ready to sell the house ... annoyance or helpful addition to possible new owners? I suppose it depends on if there are kids.

I haven't even begun to think about baby proofing!! We're just creating space.

Our previous layout in our family room (basement) had the sofas kind of across the middle of the room with the computer behind it and the tv at the end of the room on the short side. We were always navigating around the enormous exersaucer and jolly jumper that were between the door and the sofas. Now, the sofas are on the edges of the room, the tv's on the long side and then the computer desk. We used to share a desk as well, but DH has taken over the tv for his monitor, so we don't need to share anymore. I still have to check for plugs that need "proofing" and clean up the fish tank stand, because there's some chemicals and treatments there that should be moved from Claire's reach.

I don't know whether we'd need a baby gate downstairs. The exit is at one end, so she'd have to be pretty quick and sneaky to get past us both. Not ruling it out! LOL. I worry more about my craft room with little things dropping on the floor. Not sure what we'll do there.

Haha...Heather...you just never know! My Patrick was in Kindergarten, we just got home from school pick up...all of us dragging into the house with backpacks and dispersing to their rooms etc...All of a sudden I heard this loud CLUMP noise like someone fell on the hardwood flooring--but upstairs has carpeting....Well, Patrick was sitting on the floor next to the front door laughing, in one of my famous pillowcase capes, his underwear and socks...with his Batman pillow underneath him (to break the fall I suppose?????)--Shane looking over the banister from up above (2nd floor) laughing and calling his brother a name or two...I stood in disbelief as I realized and asked if he had "jumped" from upstairs ???? Shocked he (sill laughing unhurt) said he wanted to FLY!!! So, keep this goofy story in the back of your mind when you think--"baby proofing" <Smiles> Because they will try things out of no where.. When I told DH about it...he asked "Where were you?"--I looked at him and said..."OH, dear, well, I was out on the veranda having cocktails with my ladies--What do you mean where was I??? I was walking into the house behind them putting my purse on the counter 2 seconds away!!!"

QueenieJO: I set up the lower cabinets in the kitchen to be "kid's cabinets" plastic ware, sippy cups, bowls, cereal...we removed the locked cabinet thingys the minute they started to climb and stand on the counters! Monkeys!!!!!! Funny: When I recently reorganized all my cabinets--we just got rid of the "kid's sippy cup cabinet"...my kids are 21, 20 and 17 hahahaha! I guess I was a lil' slow in rearranging huh? <smiles> We still call those cabinets by their original name!
