Receiving ~ Spring/Summer Whipper Snapper & Penny Black Swaps-Due April 12
I am starting the 12th version of the Whipper Snapper Swap and the 15th Penny Black Swap all together in one. The theme Spring or Summer, but the twist this time is that you are to use pastel colors only. You do need to use a Whipper Snapper or Penny Black image on your card, but the rest is up to your creativity for the warmer weather that is coming for sure! And, as usual, there will also be prizes!!!!!!! Read down to see how to get a prize.....................
Yes--I know I am addicted to Whipper Snapper and Penny Black stamps. The WS company store less than 10 miles from my house and I spend way too much time there. Both of the companies make such cute images and everyone has such wonderful ideas when making these cards. I loved all of the cards I have received in the Whipper Snapper and Penny Black swaps I hosted as well as all of WS or PB swaps I have joined here on SCS.
Description: Please use at least 2 layers & 1 embellishment! If you make a size different than will fit into an A-2, please include an envie. The theme of this swap is Spring or Summer images--get out those sweet smelling flowers, cute summer images, butterflies, birds, etc. The card can be for a birthday, get well, Mother's Day, thinking od you, etc.----any theme as long as it has a spring/summer image and is done in Pastel Colors
Quantity: 5+1 -You will not get one of your own back, so make an extra one for yourself! You will get back the cards made from the same company you sign up for--so if you want both kinds of cards back, sign up for both! Sign up for as many spots as you'd like, but please, make a different design for each spot you take.
Vendor Products: Any stamp from Whipper Snapper or Penny Black is required. Please use very good quality cardstock (PTI/Gina K/SU). No vendor restriction on embellishments - use as many embellishments as you like. Designer papers are encouraged, but not required.
Recipe: This is not required, but please put a sticky note or stamp your card with your signature, so everyone will know who to thank and who to leave a comment for!
Due Date:Thursday, April 12th - I will mail them as soon as I receive all swaps! If I receive the swaps early, I will send them out early. If your cards are received after the due date, I may have to return them to you. Please post in the thread or send me a PM when your cards are postal.
Mailing instructions: Place swap cards in a large baggie for waterproof purposes. Write your real name, SCS name and swap name on a piece of paper or the baggie for identification purposes.
Swap Return: Please include self-addressed stamped envelope. The amount of postage on your SASE should be the same amount used to mail to hostess. Please include 2 additional stamps to insure enough postage to return swaps. Additional postage will be returned if not used. PLEASE SEND ONLY POSTAGE STAMPS, NO DATED STAMPS OR METERED MAIL--My Post Office will not take them If you would rather use Priority mail, please include one $5:15 priority stamp or cash and a self-addressed priority label. I will provide priority envelope. If you are mailing from outside the US, please include $5 US (or more for multiple spots) to cover return postage, and I will return whatever is left to you. Remember--there is a Postal Increase in January if you mail your cards early!
Prizes: OK--this is how you can win some prizes in your return envie:
1--Sign up for three or more spots total in the groups below
2--Be the 25th or 50th name (or 75th ) to be added to the list
3--Other prizes will be added later during the chatter in this thread!
Please post or PM me with any questions.
Please mail swaps to: Barb Deichl

I have a question about doing the images in pastel colors. Do they have to be done in like chalks or what other kind of medium should they be done in?
I will let you know if I decide to join this swap later on.

Sure hope you come and join us!

We are having a family holiday party tomorrow, so Aben, Kathy, Elise and baby Arlyn are coming tonight for supper.
Temps to be in the high 30's today and a sleet storm came through early this morning around 1:30 and woke me up as it was hitting the windows. Nothing on the ground this morning. We are also heading out for a walk in a bit.
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Good Afternoon--we walked to the store (about a mile and a half one way) The trail was a bit icy in the parts that do not get sun, so we walked on the grass on the edge. It is sunny out, so it is nice to be outside today--but it reminds me of March, instead of early January.
We are cooking the ham today, so the house smells wonderful. I made the baked mashed potatoes too, so they are ready to pop into the oven tomorrow (potato buds, butter, sour cream, cream cheese=no calories at all............ ) A couple of loads of wash are done too, so it has been a productive day.

Happy Sunday Evening--we had a great day. We had 16 people here for dinner as it was a smaller group than in the past. Some were sick, some had other plans and some had to work, so we were about half the size of previous years. But, with a smaller group, we had more time to chat it seemed. Everyone left about an hour ago and I have the dishwasher going, and everything is cleaned up.
Tomorrrow I will start the process of taking down the Christmas decorations. It should take a day or so and as usual, it is good to have the house back to normal. I do leave out the snowman and "snowy" things for a month or so, but with temps in the 30's today and back to 50 by Tuesday, it will be the only sign of winter for awhile. I do know that the snow and cold will be here--but I do not want it to stay around until April!

I've been out all day at the Leisure Way Remote Car racing Competion. My son picked me up at 8:00 a.m. and I came home an hour ago, a long, long day at the Races with my Grandson. Of course, I had planned to stay at home and watch football all day.
Joan
Good Morning--checking in with my SCS pals and then I am tackling the Christmas decorations (don't worry--I will be gentle and not break any). I'd love to get everything packed away today and then roomie can help me put the boxes in the rafters in the garage when she gets home from work.
I hope you have a great day--temps to be in the 50's tommorrow and Wednesday--YAY!
