Good morning!
We have a big day at church today. After the service we are having a Mission Fest! We have a soup and BBQ meal, are selling lefse, and having a silent auction. Oh yeah, the choir, which I am, in is singing "Just a Little Talk with Jesus" which I requested. It's going to be a fun day!

Good evening!
Had a great day at church with our Mission Fest! We had a speaker who helps out families in need in the county. You would be surprised at how many have nothing. It is very sad indeed. She is such a wonderful person to do this for people.

This sounds funl It just so happens I saw some red & white paper in my stash last week and thought it would be fun to make some. Can they be Valentines? I would like to try all three. zipper28

Going to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving now cuz may not be able to get on for a few days. We have weather alerts for flooding and mud slides. We have 2 roads by me flooded but I still have one road I can go out. I'm safe from both where I'm at but they are expecting more power outages tomorrow and that hits me also. You all take care. Love, hugs and prayers=grandmajudy
Happy early thanksgiving! I celebrated early with my kids as they can't get here for the real one - working in retail means they have to work on Black Friday! plus, airfare is soo expensive!

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving!
I am heading out of town and will not be home until Sunday--proabably will not be onlne during that time. If any swaps come, I will post when I get back.
I have a dumb question. Can the black & red card be on white cardstock? I am not sure what we are supposed to be using. All red & black, no white anywhere? Thanks zipper28

Not a dumb question--if you need to use white cardstock, that is OK. But, you can also use either black or red as the base. Pretty much all of the cards in the past swaps have been all red or black.

Good morning!
How is everyone? I have a cold and have had it for 3 days so far. My DH told me to take Zinc. He says that helps him. Going to swap out one of my swaps and then make Christmas cards today.

Hi there. Just wanted to let you all know that I mailed my cards today. It was fun to just use black and white. At first I tried to use a 'negative image' technique (where you you emboss black on white and white on black and cut the image in half and match up one of the black halves with one of the white halves) but I didn't have the right white embossing powder and I wasn't happy with the black embossing so I abandoned that idea for this swap, but I'd like to try it at some time or other - it really is stunning (just not when I did it LOL).

Good Morning!
I went to a LLS yesterday in Wis. Rapids---and spent more than an hour there. This is one of the top 2 stamp stores I have ever been in and love coming to it. They have so MUCH stuff, it is almost overwhelming. I think they have every embossing folder ever made--by Cuttlebug, Sizzix, Darcy, etc. plus so many of the newer die/stamp combos--think 4 or 5 display areas!
I also did a bit of Black Friday shopping online---I got a good deal of a 5 qt Dutch oven from Kohl's. After discounts and a rebate only good for 3 days, it went from $99 regular price to $18. I even asked the lady I talked to if she would give me the BF price last night and she said yes--that was a $20 savings alone! I thought I did good!
Today we are stopping at a cheese factory and a farm to get fresh cranberries. We will be heading home tomorrow morning.

Wow $18 thats a deal!! I bought (2) sets of dishes at 50% online, plus an add'll 20%, plus free shipping from Kohls also! I love Kohls! I was disappointed they were out of stock of the James Bond 007 Cologne for men. That would have been a great xmas present...

Just checking in. Started the red and white cards, need to get more red paper for the red & black. Seems I always have black and white, need t0 start those too. This is fun. I'm not going to church today, I've been under the weather and don't want to get out in this snow. Guess I'll go make cards. Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning--I am off to Coffee, Cards and Biscotti this morning at my demos house--I saw the 5 cards and they sure are cute! Then, home to swap out the Santa cards and maybe take them to the post office to mail if there is time. Tomorrow--the house transformation to Christmas begins....................... YAY! We already did the outside lights last week--still need to do the roping and trim on the deck railing.
Is everyone recovered from the Thanksgiving feast and the after-Thanksgiving shopping??? Took me several days to recover from all the prep work and having guests for Thanksgiving and I never made it out shopping. I have yet to buy one Christmas gift! Yikes! So much to do, so little time.

I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the 'Lone Ranger' on this one. I was very frustrated. I tried a couple of different images and couldn't get the quality that I wanted. I even tried coloring the melted black embossing powder with a Sharpie marker LOL and that made it look worse. I was using Ranger black detail powder, so it was a good reputable brand .... I dunno what the deal was. I just bought some detail white powder from Stampendous so that must mean that I'll give this another shot at some time. When (and if) I do try this again, I'll will definitely let you know how it comes out. Another thing that was not working was no matter how much I used my embossing buddy and cleaned up the embossing powder with a fine paint brush I STILL got those darn white specs on the black paper grrrrrrrr

It's another warm day here in the AZ desert. No sign of it cooling off anytime soon. We may have temps close to 80 F. the beginning of December. Wierd!
we hit 80 in Florida today - like that much better than the cold weather we had in PA! It's strange to celebrate Christmas with nice weather, but somehow I manage!!

Good Morning--hope your Wednesday is starting out great!
I am starting the Christmas decorating today--after buying a new tree yesterday......... It is kind of a long story and quite an afternoon of visiting 5 stores looking for a new tree while transporting our current 10 foot tree (three sections with lights burned out in all of them) in the back of my SUV. End result--a new tree a bit smaller than the one we have had for 11 years, so I am sure I will need to decide on which ornaments are used this year and put others away for another year. We still might have the lights on the other tree repaired, depending on the cost and try to sell it next summer at a rummage sale. The main tree will get decorated today and maybe a few of the smaller ones too.
