A woman with five siblings, three sisters and two brothers, was chatting with her mom about how her mom had changed as a mother from the first child to the last.
The mom said she had mellowed a lot over the years: "When my oldest child coughed or sneezed, I called the ambulance. When the youngest swallowed a dime, I just told him it was coming out of his allowance."

with information about A Benefit of Listening to Loud Music!
Don was in the restaurant yesterday when he suddenly realized he desperately
needed to pass gas. The music was really, really loud, so he timed his
gas with the beat of the music.
After a couple of songs, Don started to feel better. He finished his coffee,
and noticed that everybody was staring at him....
Then he suddenly remembered that he was listening to his iPod.
I wondered that too - why 2 days for Women in Jeans??
I wear jeans when I'm really doing some work that is messy - and the jeans even look "fancy" - not torn, not faded in places. And I wear them in cold weather. I'm surprised you don't wear jeans in some of the winter weather you have Jeanette!!

I never have liked the way they feel. Can't stand denim skirts either.

Some ARE too rough!! I have jeans that are soft, don't feel rough. And I found if I wash the jeans & use one of those BOUNCE fabric softners when I dry my clothes (I found one that is for sensative people - those who can't be around perfumes) that the jeans will get softer.

Thank you, Janet. I will have to look for that bounce. I am one of those sensitive folks. I can't use liquid softner because it attracts ants here in Florida. It makes them bite the fabric to suck out the downy. Weirdest thing I ever dealt with, so weird It made stop using softner. But i would love to try that bounty on my jeans.
PS. The softest jeans I have ever owned are LC Lauren Conrad from Kohls, super-soft.

For the first time in many years, an old man traveled from his rural town to the city to attend a movie. After buying his ticket, he stopped at the concession stand to purchase some popcorn. Handing the attendant $1.50, he couldn't help but comment, "The last time I came to the movies, popcorn was only 15 cents."
"Well, sir," the attendant replied with a grin, "You're really going to enjoy yourself. We have sound now.."

Hello--checking in from sunny--and cold Wisconsin. The tempature is 13 now, but was 7 when we went to church. It sure was winding last night--howling all night long. We are watching football now and hoping the 49'ers get their act together soon!
As I'm drooling-um-looking at the Valentine BP Catalog I have wondered how they color their images.
If you look, it looks like they have the background, which may be sponged or brayered, showing through the images. Not sure how to explain what I'm getting at.
I tried downloading and saving the images to post here but I'm not able to.
I'm actually wondering if they aren't using a digital program to illustrate the stamps for their catalog.
Page 5 of the catalog, bottom right the two tags, a boy and a girl. See how the background color is faded out around the image? The only way that I can think of to get that effect is masking. However, when I mask it usually creates a distinct border/edges/line. I guess once the mask is removed then sponging could soften the area...
The other card I'm wondering about is on page 6 - Bed of Roses. That one actually looks as if it may be stamped on some sort of thin tracing paper, colored and then mounted over the prepared background. What do you guys think?
All in all, I guess they have some serious artistic talent creating their catalog! Far outside of my abilities!

with a warning about the importance of Dressing Warmly!
A teacher was helping one of her kindergarten students put his boots on. He asked for help and she could see why. With her pulling and him pushing, the boots still didn't want to go on. When the second boot was on, she had worked up a sweat. She almost whimpered when the little boy said, "Teacher, they're on the wrong feet."
She looked and sure enough, they were. It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off then it was putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as together they worked to get the boots back on - this time on the right feet. He then announced, "These aren't my boots."
She bit her tongue rather than get right in his face and scream, "Why didn't you say so?" like she wanted to. Once again she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off.
He then said, "They're my brother's boots. My Mom made me wear them." She didn't know if she should laugh or cry. She mustered up the grace to wrestle the boots on his feet again.
She said, "Now, where are your mittens?"
He said, "I tuffed them in the toes of my boots..."

with information about Bird Calling!
Each evening bird lover Tom stood in his backyard, hooting like an owl - and one night, an owl finally called back to him. For a year, the man and his feathered friend hooted back and forth. He even kept a log of the "conversation." Just as he thought he was on the verge of a breakthrough in interspecies communication, his wife had a chat with her next door neighbor. "My husband spends his nights ... calling out to owls," she said.
"That's odd," the neighbor replied. "So does my husband."
