Card Kit Swap Round #2

Given that there are so many fabulous stamp & product companies out there and with the way the economy is, none of us can afford to buy every single stamp or product; so with that being said I hope you will join me in my Card Kit Swaps.

Okay, here’s how it works:

Sign Up's will be taken until August 10th, 2013.

Choose which catagory you want to make card kits for and how many spots you want in each catagory. Basically in each kit, you are going to supply enough materials for your recipients to create 4 cards. Each SPOT requires 3+1 kits. (The +1 is for the hostess.)

However, EACH spot requires a different card kit.

The Catagories Are:

Penny Black

House Mouse

Details:

Each person to sign up will make 3+1 Card Kits, PER SPOT! (+1's are going to the hostess). You can sign up for, as many spots as you'd like, but please make sure the kits are different.

I would also like to encourage ALL swap participants who sign up to check in and post periodically on the thread. This helps to ensure that you are still involved in the swap, and helps build friendly repour with fellow SCS members.

The first 5 to sign up will be RAK'd in there return package.

Each Kit should contain the following:

Enough supplies for your recipient to make 4 cards. Please coordinate the contents of your kit.

4- Stamped images (all the same, per kit) with waterproof/Copic friendly ink and stamped on 1/4 sheet cardstock. Make sure they are stamped cleanly and sharp. Embossed images age encouraged!!!

(Also, check to make sure that your images comply with the SCS approved stamp companies.) Here is the link: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...A-t528974.html

4- Sentiments/sayings for your cards (Encouraged but OPTIONAL)

4- 1/4 sheets of coordinating paper or DSP, to make your card.

Enough Embellishments for each card: Ribbon (minimum of 6" per card), charms, hardware, gems, flowers, brads, buttons, glitter, flock, flower soft...you get the idea.

Last but not least--EXTRAS! These are things that make a good kit great: Some examples are: cardstock for card bases, envelopes, punched or die cut shapes, a recipe with dimensions of layer’s & such, (extra paper, sentiments, embossed backgrounds, extra images, extra ribbon, bakers twine, etc.

Be creative!! Think of a kit you have gotten in a swap that made you say, "WOW"--that's a card kit!!!!

Place package each kit separately into a baggie. Label EACH bag with your SCS Name, REAL NAME, and the swap catagory!!!

Due Date:

In my hands by September 15th, 2013 and no later. However, if all of the packages are in my hands BEFORE the due date, I will mail them out early. NO LATE packages will be accepted! NO EXCEPTION’S!!!

Let me know when your kit is postal and when you have received your kits. This is a must!

Mailing:

Place the kits inside a Ziploc bag with your SCS User Name, Real Name and the name of the swap on the outside of each kit!!! Please send a return address label and as much postage as it took to send them to me plus two extra postage stamps, if they aren't used, they will be returned to you. Priority Mail is a GREAT way to ship for swaps of this sort since it’s only $5.60 for everything that fits in the envelope AND gives you tracking of your package for FREE!!!

Also, I would highly recommend sending in a sturdy (Priority type envelope) or a bubble envelope to protect your items from getting bent or damaged.

Please mail in an envelope large enough to accommodate larger pieces for the return trip to you.

When you are ready to mail your package, please send it to me at:

Even if they are gently used, they are new toys for you to play with. ;)

ashjoy 07-12-2013 07:45 AM

Subbing, need to check what PB stamps I have if any, then will confirm. I'm traveling so it will be a bit before I check back.

ashjoy 07-12-2013 07:47 AM

I don't get the TOU stuff, are there any HM or PB that can't be used?

ALL Penny Black and ALL House Mouse images can be used in this swap! :)

I just have to put that disclaimer within my post thread as per SCS Hosting Rules. Sometime's if the swap is an open swap like I did for Round #1, people chose a catagory like Flowers, Picnic, People, etc., everyone has to make sure that they are images which are allowed. Hope that makes sense.

I hope everyone is off to a wonderful start to the week. If your temps. & humidity are high like it is here in New York....PLEASE be careful, drink LOTS of fluids and rest often!!!

Here's a photo of one of my House Mouse stamps to remind you to do just that. Hehehe ;)

JanetJ 07-15-2013 11:18 AM

Christi, I hope you stay cool!! My BIL lives in NY near the NJ border, and works in NYC - I'll be worried about him with this weather!

Here in VA we have hot, humid weather. Temps in the low 90s but feels hotter. I'm drinking a lot of water, staying cool. I've even seen students that react to the heat - one of ours today was red & hot & fussing!!

I have a HM stamp of a mouse in a glass of lemonade!! That should be cooling!!! LOL!!

Stamperamma 07-15-2013 01:26 PM

Yet another house mouse stamp I want. I love those images, they are so cute.

Hi,

Could I have two spots in Penny Black and one in House Mouse? And just ot be clear, we can use Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, right? I don't think it's technically waterproof, but it does work very well with Copics. It doesn't smear when you blend them. It's also best for prismacolor pencils since it doesn't smear with the mineral spirits used for blending.

Thanks,

Hi Tracy,

I tend to use either Memento or Versamark. And, I generally tend to emboss my images too. ;)

I'm having trouble getting a clean stamp image with my acrylic Penny Black stamps and Momento Ink. Does anyone have any suggestions? The images are coming out a little beady...I may have to drop if I cant get clean images.

DCinkit 07-16-2013 06:53 AM

Maria ~

I don't know about acrylic stamps. Sorry you're having trouble. Hope you don't drop out.

Are these new stamps? With my new rubber stamps sometimes I have to remove a little film on the surface. I use a good cleaner and I've even rubbed pencil eraser on them.

Anyone know about acrylic stamps? What do you do to make them take the ink?

Hope you figure it out.

DCinkit 07-16-2013 06:55 AM

Christi ~

I can participate this time. My traveling is done for now. I have two really cute Penny Black stamps and one totally fun "Gruffies" stamp for the House Mouse category. So, I'll take one spot in each. Thanks!

Love the card kits swaps.

Maria~ Here is a link for a thread here on SCS that might help you out.....

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...s-t290256.html

Or you can try using Versafine Ink. I find that Versafine is better to use if I am doing something with a lot of details and fine lines.

Maria,

I use the eraser on an acrylic stamp s I'm having trouble getting a clean stamp whether it's old or new. Giving it a good washing with soap and water may help. And I find Versafine Black (may be Onyx Black) gives me a much better image.-. It may smear just a tiny bit if you're using prismacolor pencils and odor free mineral spirits, but it's usually very minor and hardly noticeable.

I hope you don't have to drop out,
