Closed & Swapping Fancy Folds Card Swap. Due January 18, 2013.

Itís been awhile since Iíve hosted a swap so I need the help of all you ladies to make this a successful swap. Iíve been having so much fun trying new folds but Iím already tired of making Christmas cards so this swap is for fancy folds/no holiday, no special reason cards. There are no categories so youíll get back an assortment of fancy fold cards. Because some cards use more cardstock than others, you can choose to send in sets of 3, 4, 5, or 6 cards (+1).

Have fun trying new folds, the SCS tutorials are really good! Hereís a few links to get you startedÖ

Splitcoaststampers - Tutorials Concertina Fold Card

You must check in 2 weeks before the end date and let me know you are still in the swap. If you need to drop out that is fine, life happens and the holidays can get hectic, but please let me know. You must also check in after swap and let us know you received your swap back.

Description requirement:
These should be full-size cards although some fancy folds are not 4 ľ x 5 Ĺ so if you make a card that wonít fit in a standard card envy, please include an envy your card will fit in.

Quantity: 3, 4, 5, 6 (+1)
You will not get one of your own back, so make sure to make an extra one for yourself! I will try to send you back as many different fancy folds as I can.

Vendor products:
No vendor restriction, but please use only good quality card stock
Please use at least 2 layers
Embellishments are optional on this card.
Take pride in making fabulous cards with friends in mind
Everyone is welcome.

Recipe:
Although a recipe is not required, some folks may want to know how to case your card, or what kind of technique you are using as we are always trying to learn. If you decide to include your recipe please make sure to add Your Real Name, SCS Name, Swap Name, email address, products and techniques used.

Deadline: In my hands by January 18, 2013 and I will have them postal within 5 days of the due date. Cards not received by then will regrettably be returned to sender as not to hold up the swap.

Mailing instructions: Put your cards in a zip lock bag with the swap name, your real name, and your SCS name. Please send a self-addressed stamped envelope with the same postage as it took to send to me plus two extra stamps just in case needed. Thanks!

DO NOT send metered postage as we all know they only work for day of purchase!! If you would rather use Priority mail, please include one $5.35 priority stamp and a self-addressed priority label. I will provide priority envelope. I donít mind cash, just tell me if you prefer First Class or Priority mail, I will return whatever is left to you.

NO METERED POSTAGE PLEASE.

Please donít hesitate to post questions to this thread. I welcome all advice. Welcome all swappers to post messages and make friends during the swap.
Thanks for joining!!

Blue: Received....thanks!!!

I'm new to SCS so I'm not sure what I need to do to sign up for your swap. I've been stamping for over 5 years and I looked at the SCS Tutorials for Fancy Fold cards.

I would like to make 3 (+1) Easel Cards and 3 (+1) Z-Fold Cards.

Is there anything else I need to tell you to join your swap?

Thanks,

SAM

mdov 10-09-2012 09:47 AM

Can I have a spot in 6 + 1?

Do you need to know what folds we are doing in advance?

dani_fournier 10-09-2012 11:10 AM

This looks like fun...would you sign me up for 2 slots in the 3+1 category. Thanx

dani_fournier 10-09-2012 11:13 AM

I think I'm going to try the ViewMaster fold...wish me luck!

Hi Sam,

There's nothing else I need...I'll put you down for two slots in the 3+1 category. Check back every once in awhile for updates. Most important...have fun creating your cards!

Hi Michelle....welcome to the Fancy Folds swap!

You don't have to decide which Fancy Fold you're planning to do. I'll make sure you get lots of creative, different Fancy Fold cards back.

Have fun stamping!!!

Wow, I took a quick break to go vote and came back to find 3 people had signed up! Hooray...lots of fun for all of us!

I've got you signed up for 2 slots in the 3+1 category.

You'll have fun with the ViewMaster fold. It's not that difficult and it makes for a REALLY unique card. If you have any problems, post a message and one of us will help you!

Yay! Thanks. I know I'll love this swap. Fancy folds are always a favorite.

sue_ZZZ 10-09-2012 03:32 PM

I'm working on one of my sets tonight. It was hard making up my mind which Fancy Fold to do but I've decided that one of my sets is going to be a waterfall card. It takes several images and I just got some new stamps I've been wanting to try!

MBOSS 10-09-2012 06:45 PM

Please sign me up for a 6+1 and a 3+1 spot. Thanks.

sue_ZZZ 10-09-2012 07:23 PM

Hi MBoss! Welcome to the Fancy Folds swap! I'll put you down for one slot in 6+1 and one slot in 3+1.

I've been having fun creating cards all night. So glad you decided to join us!

It was nice to wake up to sunshine today. Even the autumn chill feels nice :D

dani_fournier 10-10-2012 01:50 PM

It's rainy and cold (almost freezing) here in NH.

mdov - where in MN are you from? My son graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. That was my only time to visit MN...it was REALLY pretty in late Spring. I've heard you can get really long winters...probably like we do!

Thanks! I love the tri-shutter cards so I am pretty sure I will make a few of those.

Heather (Quilling_Queen) - I think I saw your name in another swap I'm in! Since I'm new to SCS, it's fun to start recognizing people! I'm spending a lot of time reading postings. I'm really not sure what to say to people yet...but I'm really liking this - especially the stamping part!

Hi SAM_Stamper-
I am in lots of swaps and I absolutely love it. Everyone on here is amazing, helpful and fun to create with. It took me a while to get my feet wet, but once I did, I went crazy as you can tell from my signature line (which I have to go through and update with the 3 new swaps I just took on :D) Welcome and enjoy.

sue_ZZZ 10-12-2012 10:29 AM

Heather...you are having lots of fun, aren't you?! That's a lot of swaps...isn't it great getting new ideas!

Today I want to be stamping but I'm canning instead. Maybe tomorrow I can stamp!

sue_ZZZ 10-12-2012 04:16 PM

btt

SAM_Stamper 10-13-2012 06:25 AM

Good morning everyone. I'm going to try to finish my view master cards today...after I clean my house and after I get the sheets changed and the laundry done and after I do my grocery shopping and after I get all my errands run and after.....well, I hope I have time to stamp sometime today anyway!!!

What is btt?

dani_fournier 10-13-2012 11:35 AM

Hooray, it's Saturday! It's been a busy week so it feels really good to have a quiet day. I'm going to finish my easel cards and then I probably won't start the next set until at least next week.

Sam - btt means "back to top". You'll notice that sometimes the hostess will post a message that says bump or btt. They do this so the swap will show up toward the top of the swap lists.

Have a great weekend!

Small world! I went to Concordia St. Paul - many moons ago though. I am in Apple Valley :)

Yes, winters here are long, dark and very cooold.

I have always wanted to do some ice climbing in NH. I must get there soon - I've heard it is beautiful! Is it true that you get tons of snow?

Hi Sue,

Could I have the last 6+1 spot? It will be nice to work on something that's not for the holidays!

Thanks,
Tracy

sue_ZZZ 10-16-2012 12:38 PM

welcome...welcome!

Hi Tracy,

Glad you decided to join us! (By the way, I LOVE your avatar!)

You didn't take the "last" spot, it was just the last one showing. I'm not setting a limit yet. I'm hoping we'll get a few more creative stampers!

Welcome!

Sue_zzz

sue_ZZZ 10-17-2012 02:21 PM

Did everyone see the Fancy Fold tutorial for this week's SCS Weekly Inkling? It's for the Concertina fold card. Here's a link to the tutorial (and I'll add it to the links on the Introduction page as well).

dani_fournier 10-17-2012 05:45 PM

I'm definitely going to try a set of these Concertina fold cards. They take a lot of cardstock but I think they'll make really special cards. Thanks for sharing!
