just wanted to let everyone know...I won't be on much this weekend. I will be around tomorrow, but then late sat night we are heading out to go camping till monday. I don't get great service there. so I won't be on.
so I had to put one of my dogs down today. it's very sad. she was a 12 year old rottie. she got cancer and was having some issues with her lungs, so it was time. it was very hard. I miss her already. so tonight I'm just relaxing.
Put together all of the card kits this weekend. Wow, what a lot of work that was!! But, I can't wait to get a whole bunch back. Have a great weekend everyone.
Oh Kristyn, That is so hard. Been there with a four month old German Shepherd and it was not a good place to be. My heart goes out to you and it's good you are getting away for the weekend. I will be thinking of you.
Kristyn, My condolences for the loss of your dog. I’ve had to say good-bye to two dogs in the same manner. It is a difficult decision as well as a loving one when they are suffering. I hope you enjoyed lots of happy times with her.
Hope you had a great camping trip. It's fun to get away!
Hmm, this swap is looking tempting.....very tempting.
Just do it!!! lol This is a great swap - awesome swappers and hostess, and it's so fun to put the kits together. Then when you get them back it's like playing with someone else's stuff!! How inspiring is that, right?
Good morning ladies, I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. My kits are done I wanted to include something special in the kits but first I need a show of hands from everyone just in case you get one of my kits.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT SHRINK FILM IS? HOW TO USE IT? WOULD YOU USE IT?
Years ago, I purchased Shrink Paper from SU! I used it many times. It was lots of fun. I made earrings from a large SU! butterfly stamp. Then I used the large butterfly on a T-shirt. I haven't used the shrink paper in years. Not sure if I still have some. I don't know if it's the same as Shrink Film. As long as it doesn't need any special tools or embossing gear, I would use it. It would be fun to try it again!

Anyone else???
It works in the oven best with parchment paper. I have made charms to be coloured and shrunk by the recipients for one of the kits. I hope everyone loves them as much as I do.
Ah, sorry. I don't have a clue what shrink film is. I don't think I've every heard of it or seen it. With directions, I'm willing to try anything though.

Two days ago I saw the cutest butterfly charm made from shrink film and of course I decided I HAD to have some. Haven't had a chance to buy any yet. So, Dea, yes! I would love to have a sample to play with! Perfect timing. lol
I'll take one spot in the "Snowman" category, please.
WELCOME!!! Kristyn will properly welcome you when she gets back from her camping trip sometime tonight. She might not get a chance to post til tomorrow though.
Product Features
Shrink Plastic Incredible stuff!! And even better than those dinky cutouts you used to make! Our each is a pack of ( 8" x 10-1/2" shrinking plastic sheets that start clear and stay clear.
Shrink plastic -
Draw a design, write a message, create a sign, whatever. Cut it out, bake it in a 350° oven for about 3 minutes, and it shrinks to 45% of its original size.
Problem with certain pencils and markers on the slick sheets? Try a light sanding (320-400 grit) before writing on it. (The surface will be more opaque.) What a fun way to make small embellishments.
Thank you everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I'm doing good. I haven't make it to her room where she spend her last few days...that's on my list to do this week. I makes me sad when I look in there, her collar and leash was laying in the bed...ugh...my dog millie was very sad this weekend. my daughter didn't go, she stayed home and she said that millie didn't eat much or leave the couch much...so some special attention to her the next few days.
my camping trip was great! lots of rain and mud...I know that doesn't sound great to most, but when you go out 4-wheeling, mud is lots of fun!! I had a blast!! if i can figure out how to get pictures off my phone I'll post a picture of our camp site!! LOL, ya'll think I'm crazy!
Dea-love the idea of shink film...reminds me of shinky-dinks I use to play with as a kid. sounds like fun!!
Angie-Welcome to the group! I'll put you down for one spot. Can I temp you for an angel spot!?

SHRINKY DINKS, OH MY GOODNESS SOMEONE ELSE FROM MY GENERATION. I LOVED MY SHRINKY DINKS.
dea
me too!! do you remember the stained glass things...I forget what they were called. you got the metal frame, then the little peices of plastic that you baked in the oven...then hang in window!! I love those too!
I do remember them. Did you have brothers. I did and they got the creepy critters kit. The one where the plastic was melted and poured into a mold and left to cool. We had it made back then.

Dea
yes I did have brothers, but they were older than me...I never played with one of those but I do remember the commericals for it. I did have one of the art paint spinner things...those were cool.
Been at the river myself kristyn. Family reunion. Time last weekend so I wasn't able to reply. My heart goes out to you and yours.I had to put down a cat a while back and its a hard thing to do.y thoughts and prayers are with you. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
As to the shrinky film you film you guys are amazing. Dea I hope I get one of yours. Hurray for the shrink film.
Oh and I gave a question.... when you say quarter for the stamped image. Do you a quarter of a 12x12 cardstock or quarter of a 8 1/2 x11 cardstock? Just wondering thanks.
Gotcha that's what I thought... then I saw the 6x6 patterned paper and was like well that's a quarter. For a 1x12. Thanks Lois for clearing that up for me.
Oh, good point. I think we do 6x6 pattern paper because there is more variety to choose from. And you can use a cut up 12 x 12 or paper from a 6 x 6 pad. You just don't see that much 8 1/2 x 11 pp.
Thank-you my family thinks I have a crafting problem. Hence the crazy. And the lady part I think it makes me seem like I'm in the more experienced age group. And while that's fine I felt like even though I'm only 28 I can still call myself a lady. I'm just glad I found split coast and found all the other crazy card ladies to play with. It was lonely in the sandbox all alone
lol My family CAUSED my crafting problem! In case you didn't know, Kristyn (our hostess) is my daughter and she got me started scrapbooking and then it just evolved into card-making as well. Her former bedroom is now my craft room and there's no room for a bed anymore!
And you are right. There's no age limit to being a lady!
Well SHRINKY dinks with instructions it is. I have already added instructions to some of the kits for home made glitter embellishments. These are amazing. I will post pictures tomorrow night. Tonight I am heading to bed. I have a French test at six am...
so crazycardlady-what's your first name. we all are crazy card ladies around here, so a proper first name would be cool. much more lady like. LOL so glad all your questions have been answered. if you have any more please ask away!!
Lois-thanks for answering crazy's questions! btw...you know you love the fact that I got you hooked!!
Dea-I think we all are very excited to try something new!
Hey all! Just letting you know that I am back from vacation! I had a wonderful time and got to see lots of friends. It was nice to come home though. Missed my little sweeties (my two cats) and they obviously missed us too as they can't seem to get enough attention!

Oh i'm sooo sleepy...I can't believe it's only thursday!! I have soo much to do at work and at home. I'm helping with the football game friday night. making 3 pies saturday morning, then a meeting saturday evening, meeting on monday after work (have a bunch to get ready for that), then another on tuesday after work, conference call on wed for work (these are always so draining and boring), then thursday have a meeting at 3:30 so have to leave work early, then I drive to Temple, GA to begin my crop weekend. still need to pack for that, without overpacking!! thinking wednesday after work...ACK!!! I'm feeling stressed already. between that still have to do all the normal chores and with school starting and my daughter working she's been no help!! I don't know how people keep schedules like this up all the time!!
My kits are packed and will be going postal today. Kristyn, I am tired listening to your list. Today is my compressed day odd and will be a relitively quiet day, I get to clean the house....the whole house. Twice a year I do spring cleaning, everything gets scrubbed, windows, walls, floors, baseboards and cupboards, as well as the rest of the house. I also have the added pleasure of the car. Yes the car, we had a potluck on Wednesday and I made meatballs with an Asian sauce. About eight cups of sauce you are guessing it right, a fox ran in front of the car on my way into work, I stopped, the bowl rolled over, I righted the bowl and continued onto work. I got to work, grabbed the bowl and sauce went everywhere. Eight cups of it to be exact all over the carpets and the seats. The bugger of it all was I just had the car detailed a week ago.
I am still smiling though the fox is alive the car can be cleaned and I am almost done all my swap commitments. Today I will mail six of the nine swaps I am registered for and most of them are not due until October.
