Good morning ladies!
I had a good day yesterday pain wise. No pain in my leg at all! Hope it wasn't just a fluke!
Kristyn - I mailed my card kits yesterday!

My card kits got mailed yesterday. Pat's kits are in the box with mine too. You can mail our returns from all 3 of your swaps together if that would be easier for you.
I'm working on my kits right now. Can we put the embellishment and the ribbon all in one envelope for the particular kit that we are doing? Will be mailing them out on Monday.
Sally

Hey Kristin I know things are crazy at your house ... no stove and all. I wouldn't know what to do without one. My next tattoo is "bake cake" on my knuckles. LOL I'm still waiting on that pm whenever you get a chance. Thanks. Hope things are going well. Or well enough
hum...don't remember what I was going to PM you about....I'll have to pull out your package and see if my question comes back to me. sorry about that. let me ponder on this for a moment.

Sally
yes, that's fine.
mailing on monday sounds great. I'll let you know when they arrive.
roxane-I'm so happy you have no pain!! I totally understand who wonderful that is and I hope it lasts!! I will let you know when your package arrives.
Lois-sounds great...
Heather-I'm still pondering my PM question for you...I didn't leave myself much of a clue in my earlier posts. sometimes you'll see me post in the threads...Note to self.... LOL
Diane (DCinkit) your package arrived today and I responded to your note via pm...I really did remember to send this one!
Ok ladies off to finish running thur the theads...and to pull out your package heather. I may not get back with you till tonight...have to leave my house in about 15/20 minutes tops.
The pork chops came out falling-apart tender and delicious! The flavor was really very good. But I think I did something wrong because my rice turned into a big pasty mush. Not a big loss, since I probably shouldn't eat rice anyway. lol I cooked it on high for about 6 hours. Was that too long? Or maybe it should have been on low? I would definitely try this recipe again because the flavor was that good! Maybe brown rice? Any suggestions?
I am so sorry ladies the pork chops on low. They should fall apart as well when done. I throw everything in in the am around four and we eat supper at six. I check on it when I get home at four, if it is done I turn it to warm and leave it until DH gets home. Any rice works.
Thanks, Dea. Do you celebrate Thanksgiving like we do by getting together with family and eating too much? Is turkey traditional? Football games? Parade?
Very similar to you, Turkey or Ham, Many sides usually to much to eat and yes some watch football, some watch hockey and some just relax and enjoy.
We were at the cottage with friends and family, 15 for dinner, we had turkey, mashed potatoes, peas, candied yams, rice stuffing, gravy, salad, spaghetti squash with a spicy tomatoe sauce and for dessert we had, pumpkin Cree Brule, pumpkin cheese cake, and pumpkin pie.
Our friends and family are either gluten free, nut free, vegetarian or have serious allergies
There is no tv at the cottage so we get up cook, walk, close up the cottage by putting all the outdoor furniture away, taking in the dock, putting away the boats and chopping wood. When that is all done we sit down to a glass of wine and appetizers. Dinner was at six.
A while back Paola hosted a Mo Manning swap and each week she held a contest or two and mo would provide the prizes. The prize for the last contest was a stamp created by Mo and named after the winner. I was lucky enough to win and here is the stamp is she not just adorable.

How special is that to have a stamp named after you!!! She really is a cutie. Congrats on winning!
so I'm going to do a second round of this swap....everyone's kits are wonderful and i know when you get them back you'll want to do it again. (at least i hope so) so I've been kicking around the idea for a few days now...and i need ya'll help.
the next round is going to be about colors....just to keep things interesting.
I'm thinking of doing color combo groups where you send in one color and you pick what color you want to get back. for example....sending in red/green want to recieve back silver/teal.
so here's what i want to know.
1. do you like this idea?
2. What color combo's would you like to see?
3. would you rather have one color or combo colors?
4. if you prefer combo colors, do you want combo's of two or three?
here's some combo colors I thought of....let me know what you like or hate or want to see....
2 color combos:
Red/black
Brown/cream
Pink/green
Teal/pink
Silver/teal
Green/White
Red/White
Black/White
Red/Green
Gold/cranberry
Blue/White
Purple/White
3 color combos:
red/green/white
Black/white/red
blue/purple/white
Brown/cream/gold
Gold/Cranberry/green
Silver/Teal/pink
I would like to narrow down the choices to maybe 5 color combo's and 1 anything goes group.
Love, love, love colors!!! Great idea! Yes, do it.
Just wondering when you're thinking about doing this card kit swap. Would it be right away and be back for Christmas card making? Or this a New Year, Valentine's time frame? Knowing that would determine what color combos I would go for and want or not want. KWIM?
I saw a beautiful double rainbow yesterday. Your post reminded me of it. It was just gorgeous.
I had Stamp Club yesterday. We made 4 cards. One had 2 pumpkins cut out using the large oval punch and then run through the Big Shot using embossing folders. It was really cute! Another one was made using the Ornaments Keepsakes Bundle. It is such a cute card! Now I had decided a couple of days ago that I was not going to buy the bundle because I have so much Christmas stuff - lots of stamps sets and also 2 Cricut cartidges. Well after making that card, I couldn't help myself! I had to buy the bundle! I know I will love it though.

I think a 2 color combo would be good. Three colors might be hard to come up with.

I would like to start it by sunday (hopefully), and have it due mid november so that way we can swap out and mail back by end of november and still have time to make all those last minute cards. I know last year I was still making cards in Dec, that would give everyone about a month to complete and mail. for my canadian friends would give two weeks to complete and two weeks for mailing time...which with kits I think is a workable time frame. kits go together pretty quick.

fair enough...I couldn't decide which worked better...and hadn't tried to put a 3 color kit together. I've done one color kits and that can be hard...so do like the idea of two colors.

how fun is that...what embossing folder did you use on the pumpkins?
I love embossing folders.
I went to hobby lobby the other day and I got a set of 6, maybe 5 Copic markers in skin tone colors for 5.00!! SCORE!!!
then I got some fiskar stamp sets for about 1.50 each!! they weren't the really big sets but nice size and very cute.
I love the idea, my question though is what if ten people want red/green back and only one person signs up to create that colour.

I like the 3 color combos; but I would like to suggest....pink/red/white, purple/green/orange, blue/orange/white, green/yellow/blue.
Wow Kim. Those are some very unusual Christmas color combos! I think I will try to make a purple/green/orange card and see if I can make it look like Christmas. I like a challenge! lol

Dea
Dea, I think Kristyn would have to make groups for each color, and if the group fills up then you would have to pick a different color. Or if everyone sends the same colors they get back, it would all balance out. But personally, I would like to get back a different color.

I would do groups in each color....I'd have a sending color group, then a receiving color group. instead of groups being totally open, each would have 4 per color, so if you are last to sign up, then you have less choice of what you want to send/recieve. it would be set up like the SS color package swap. if i have a color group nobody is intersted in, the we'll change it up a bit.

for christmas cards? hum...I think for this round I'm going to go with two colors...make it a bit easy to start...then I think I'll add a 3rd color next time around. I love the color combo! makes me think of valentines day, halloween, easter, and well the Gators--aren't their colors orange and blue. LOL. funny how certain colors trigger certain things.

I didn't realize these were Xmas combos.....but I've had Santa rocking an orange suit before!

santa in an orange suit would work where I live. our school colors are orange and black...so everyone has something orange....plus were are near where the Tenn Vols are and thier colors are Orange and white! so that's even more orange. was never to found of orange before I moved here...now I love the color and have lots of orange in my waredrobe.
they are great color combo...I'm going to make a note of them and if this round of christmas kits goes well...I may host a color kit swap in the same fashion and use those colors....after the first of the year.
