Hi Lori,

How hot is too HOT?

It was another sunny HOT weekend here 92+ degrees and the same again today. It seems we have had weeks of this. Our humidity is very low here.

Tomorrow I think I will celebrate, it is supposed to be a high of 77.

Sunday evening my mother and I made a little picnic and went to the Symphony in the Park. It was a nice evening. The music was great. They performed a lot of music from movies like "Titanic" "Star Wars" etc.

I hope you have a good day. I have the day off, so I will be making some cards.

I thought I was going to have to bow out of this swap - but just as I was fishing getting my crafts together for the move, I found some old cards!

Arrived on Kauai last night - the travel must have taken a lot out of me because I slept 14 hours straight! Think i will make these redos the first on my list!

Well, to be honest, anything over 80 is too hot for me but we have been having 90s with 90% humidity and my old bones do not like humidity.
Today was 90 but the humidity was only 60 -- seemed so much cooler. Still too hot for me but I'll take it.
I sure hope this weather is over with. I've been living down here since 1989 and my Canadian blood still cant handle hot weather! Or maybe thats just my old hormones

Hi Lori and swappers,

Yesterday was a day to celebrate! Finally some relief from the heat. (high was only about 77). Today may be in the 80's before we get back to the 90 by the weekend.

I have been finishing some cards for another swap, but I am now back to my recycling cards. I think I have many more than the spots I signed up for. I will have to pick out the best ones, hopefully, to send for the swap.

How is everyone?

Ladies
I'm curious,
Have you found manipulating store bought cards any easier than creating from scratch?

Hi everybody
How was your weekend?

Mine was hot, humid and miserable. My fiance's daughters dog bit my face and wouldnt let go! Luckily he is a small dog with dull teeth. Even with that I have four teeth marks and a swollen bruise about 4 inches long. Little bugger. We always play around but he flipped for some reason. He hasn't had an easy life - until he moved here- so I don't know if something in his past came up or what.

Yesterday I went for 8 hours of neuropsychology testing. It was interesting. Because of being knocked unconscious and the brain bleed last September from the car accident, my attorney thought it would be a good idea. It was a lot of soul searching, talking and memory testing. Sadly we didn't finish so I have to go back on Friday for another four hours. Ugh.

Hope you all had good or better weekend than mine.

Young? Ha ha. That was 30 years ago . Thanks tho.

The story of my life is entertaining. I had to discuss my life at the appointment yesterday.....I've had 2 cancers, 18 surgeries! 4 close calls to the pearly gates and the stories go on. While i was required to explain my life to the Dr and the clinical phychiatist there eyes were wide and their jaws dropped. One even suggested i wrte a biography! Lol

My dad has had 5 her attacks and he is still going strong. My family figures that both my father and I are like cats....9 lives. Let's hope so

Good morning ladies
I thought I would add more excitement to my week and went for manipulation on my neck and back Tuesday night. A couple of hours after being home I had the worst chest and jaw pain. It was weird. I figured it was from the D.O. dr manipulating my cranial nerves and diaphragm. I emailed the D.O. Dr and he said there was no relation to the two and to rush to the ER dept for a possible minor heart attack.
Obviously it was a heart attack as I am typing this today. I did find out however that I now have Angina - just like my dad! They gave me nitro.....have any of you had this? It is yucky stuff.
Hopefully today is uneventful. Tomorrow I go back for more psych testing. What a week.
How is everyone else's week going? Anything exciting happening?

OMG Lori - you are a magnet for excitement! So glad that you contacted your Dr. Last night. I have had to take the nitro pills and had terrible headaches. Take care of yourself - you certainly are a survivor!

Well thank you for the well wishes ladies. This is my lot in life. I was told when all the surgeries were going on that my stubbornness and my sense of humor is what has kept me alive. See, being stubborn is a good thing sometimes. I would never tell my DD that though!

Hi everyone. JCI.

Oh my goodness Lori! Things can only get better for you, right?

I've been working on my cards this weekend. I can't really say they are easier to make than "starting from scratch" as Lori asked, but I certainly like how they are turning out!

lol Lois
As long as things dont get worse I will be a happy camper!

I was hoping they would be easier to work with since we had something to start us off. I can see how that could make things challenging though. As long as you are having fun. Thats all that matters, right?

My DD, Ex and I have a meeting this afternoon with a Charter School. To talk about the pros and cons of Charter vs a 'normal' school. Do any of you have any experience with Charter schools? What are your thoughts? I am trying to find a school for my DD that she will actually enjoy. One that she will actually go to and not want to find other things to do during the school day!

After that meeting I have another manipulation appointment. joy

Checking in. Been to visit my mom in OK. Have two more cards to make for the challenge and then will put in the mail.
I have to say about recycling old cards or making from scratch, I would rather start from scratch. But having a challenge to complete has made me look at them in a whole new way.

So I have been finishing up my second set of challenge cards and had to share this one that just hit me. Trying to put together 3 of the olympic colors on a card has definitely been my challenge. This one has a hand made rose from the yellow part of a card. The only part not from a store bought card is the stamped sentiment and yellow card base.
