New and Open--Ronald McDonald House Of the Month Swap 2013.
NEW AND OPEN: Donate all SWAP---Ronald McDonald House of the Month CARD Swap for 2013
We are trying something a little different. We have 11 “hostesses” who individually donate to one particular Ronald McDonald house. Each month one RMH house will be in the spotlight. That month all of the cards will be sent to that hostess and she in turn will forward the cards to her house at the end of the month.
This swap works in 2 ways. The hostesses are committed to sending 12 cards to each of the other hostesses/houses for the entire year. PLUS for other very generous people who like to donate cards but don’t have the time to help one particular house, you can sign-up and send your cards each month to the hostess.
Each month the hostess of the house will request certain cards, i.e. Thank You, Birthday…and the individuals signing up will send 12 cards total to that hostess.
Since you are donating all cards, and they are going to the same house, they do not have to be the same design. i.e.: you can send 12 different cards made with the same design and color scheme, but again, they don't have to "look" alike OR you can just send 12 totally different cards of the type that they Hostess is requesting.
DETAILS:
1. Cards need to use good quality cardstock- HEAVY WEIGHT--- (so the card can stand alone) and include a minimum of two layers and one embellishment.
2. Please use at least two layers of quality cardstock and include at least one embellishment on your cards.
3. IF you use colorful cardstock—please line the inside of the card with either white or vanilla paper.
4. If you place a sentiment inside—repeat the sentiment and place on copy paper so that it can be added inside the back of the sleeve-so the individual can see if there is a “saying” on the inside or it is “blank”
5. If you would like to include envelopes and sleeves it would be greatly appreciated.
6. REMEMBER you are sending 12 cards and will NOT be getting any back, this is a donate-all swap. No need for return postage, packaging, labels or anything.
7. Please send your cards by the 25th of each month so that the cards can be delivered in a reasonable amount of time.
Okay for the generous people who send the cards to our houses--THANK YOU--if you want to participate you can either do that particular house needs...OR you can send all-occasion cards...its your choice. The details pertain to the donors as well, remember this is a DONATE ALL swap so no return postage is necessary and the date will stand at the 20th of each month. You can sign up as well and your name will be added to the list.

We'll keep things moving to the top! Your memory is pretty good, though, because I usually help with the Madison house as well, but LJ takes care of it most of the time, and we lost Tina, who used to take care of the Marshfield house, because she is no longer on SCS!

I'm so happy that everyone is excited about this swap!
Thanks to all you girls who are helping, even though you are not hosting a house! That will help the person who is hosting the house to have enough cards for their house for more of the year!!!
Susan and Sally, you both are always around to help! I love you both!
Barb and Sherry! Thanks for doing so much for your houses in WI and ME!!!
We only need 4 more house adopter's and we have one group filled!!! Wouldn't it be AWESOME if we got 2 groups filled!!!! One group will be sending cards to 11 houses throughout the year, 2 groups would be 22 houses!!!
WOW!!! You don't have to already be giving cards to a house, you can adopt a new one! All that means is that you would like to coordinate getting cards to a Ronald McDonald House near you!!!
hey ladies, i just popped on to say HI....and I will be updating in a few days if you don't mind....
Sally I would say send when you want to...I know that I always keep a box filled and ready to send with RMH cards....
Yes JANE---one group is great and If we do get 2 groups it would be super as well....and this swap is in its infancy---it will pick up after the holidays...
Working on my Tea Party Invatations for my little girls tea party. Well, they have grown to 16, 17, & 18year olds, We have been doing this since before kindergarten and 1 has already gone to college, 3 are seniors this year and 3 are juniors. Our other one is 30 and special. My girls treat her so kind, there are thoughtful kids in this world still..
This years theme, A HIGH HEELED GOOD TIME, decorating with high heels, high heel shaped sandwiches and tea cakes, strawberry tea, a scavenger hunt and a new version of Dirty Santa. Hope they make memories, I sure do every year!
okay i did a little moving around of the swaps, haven't heard from Jen--and her one swap will be ending in Jan...so i moved her down a little and will wait for confirmation...make sense?
check and see if all is in order for the hostesses....if not send me a shout...
I am thinking that as I make a new set of cards, to just make 12 extra, one in each of my boxes for swaps to come, that way, I will have a selection of different cards for each house as their turn comes up and they will all be different. Or I could do my boxes, thank you's, thinking of you, get well, birthday, seasonal and choose from those boxes for each month, whatever works, I know the houses are always happy when cards come in, and I know my house, uses lots of thank yous and thinking of you cards.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my stamping Friends! God's Blessings for each of you is my prayer!
