Hi Everyone!

Thanks for keeping the swap going while I was AWOL... It appears that the Christmas rush is over and I can once again breath (not very well though as I know have a cold and it has stuffed up my head and vocal cords - I sound like a mouse).

I look forward to seeing everyones cards...

My office is within 5 miles in either direction of 3 bigger offices, but everyone comes here because they do not have to wait in line and I help out when someone needs help packing a box. Just this morning, someone came from the biggest post office after counting 46 people in line waiting to be waited on... Wow!!! He came here and was out in less than 10 minutes...

Anyway, any "stash" that you want to send to the soldiers is fine by me. They will love everything they recieve. Just remember - no glitter please. Thanks everyone so much for supportign the troops. They definately need it.

That's not the stupid part!!

I decided the pine cones and the wreath in general was just not festive enough. I thinned out some white glue so it was runny, found a foam paint brush, brushed on.......................... PURPLE GLITTER.

Now, I realized doing this in the house was not a good idea. So, since it was raining outside, I decided to do it on the front stoop right outside the front door. Some of the glitter fell through the green wreath and onto the cement. I did not notice immediately..........I could not figure out why there were all these purple, glittery footprints coming in my front door! duh

I put a picture (actually 2, I think) on my blog if you want to check it out.

Sandra's Arts & Crafts Studio

It is very pretty....if I do say so myself! It'll be up for a while cause I like it! The glitter on the front porch is now pretty much stuck to the cement so at night when I go out it glitters very nicely! Maybe I'll toss glitter out the front door more often (then brush it into the cement with the broom).

Good afternoon everyone!

As a public service announcement: Well, there's only 3 1/2 more days left for this year. Better get out there and wrap up all those last minute, year end details!

I'm currently organizing all my 2013 swaps on my calendar so I don't lose one. I really HATE IT when I am late or have to drop at the last minute due to my own stupidity (laziness, forgetfulness, etc.).

Very pretty wreath!! I love the shape of it and the purple is great looking on it I love glitter!! It reminds me of just a couple weeks ago the hubster and I were at M's picking up a few things to add on my fireplace garland. Later, at the grocery store I looked at him and started laughing cuz he was "sparkly" ..lol. He didn't miss a beat and just looked back it me and said "don't worry, your whole face is SHINING!!" Lol isn't glitter great?! Lol

Your hubby is really good with the spontaneous comebacks!

Since I send so many cards to our troops in Afghanistan (and some other places) I don't care for glitter that much. However, since the holiday wreath incident....I'm beginning to really like glitter on my porch!

Maybe there could be an upside to all of this snow afterall....

Happy New Year!!!

Well, I'm still fighting the cold that I got 3 days before Christmas, so I have been well rested this weekend. Slept all day SUnday, worked half day Monday and had today off... I found a lost House Mouse patriotic idea that I had in an area of my house upheaved by the holidays LOL... I'm think I'm tired again...

Gosh! I forgot this was New Years day!

I got up around 9:30 am this morning, had breakfast, took a shower, got dressed and decided to run some errands.

Guess what?? The bank was closed, the library was closed and a business I wanted to stop at was closed....then I figured out it was Tuesday, New Years day!

I went home terribly embarrassed. Good thing nobody noticed.

Isn't it rotten when you get sick over a holiday! Kinda takes the fun out of the festivities. For the past 3 years I've come down with bronchitis the week before Thanksgiving (am I allergic????) and my brother & I have had to "postpone" Thanksgiving until the Saturday. Hope you get better really SOON!

I saw you typed "May 2013..." And I thought you meant the month of May!!

I couldn't understand why you didn't mention January through April!
OK, let me get a grip on myself now.

Heather

I'm working on cards daily.

Since I have a spot in each category and I'm donating all my cards to you for Soldiers Angels, is it OK if I divert from each category? I may have to skip the anniversary category 'cause I can't find an appropriate greeting (and not ideas at the moment).

Thumbs up

Heather....

Well, 2 1/2 hours later....I found a stamp that says "happy anniversary"!

I might be able to come up with an idea! I've got the "Thinking of You" all done and in the Ziploc.

Back to the crafting table!

Since I have a spot in each category and I'm donating all my cards to you for Soldiers Angels, is it OK if I divert from each category? I may have to skip the anniversary category 'cause I can't find an appropriate greeting (and not ideas at the moment).
Congrats on finding the Anniversary greeting.. Diverting is ok

Still working on these, five at a time. They will be on their way soon.

Heather

I was wondering if you can put the Due Date in the subject/title line?

I like to quickly scan through my threads and see what is coming due. The due date in the thread title makes that so much easier.

Thanks for the consideration.

Thought I would check in, see how things are going.

I've been working on my bunch of cards. I got the "Thinking of You" all done. I found a stamp that says "Just Because" so those are next. Of course it's very easy to collect some cards for the "not sentiment" category (got lots of those).

My poor old brain is still coming up blank for Anniversary cards but at least I found a stamp that says "Happy Anniversary!"

Where do you guys go on your day / exploring trips? Sounds like fun and something everybody should do a little of with their significant other. I should do a few day / exploring trips myself - - - it's probably a great way to relax and de-stress (I don't have a hubby).

We like to do "country drives". Usually we'll pick a small town as a destination and see what happens.. sometimes we find somewhere along the way that catches our interest and turns into our trip. We usually will have lunch at the local busy restaurant and wander around a bit on foot It's amazing what's around you when you get out exploring!! And it's a nice break from house chores, lol No hubby needed! Head out on your own or grab a gf. I like taking different roads while I'm out doing errands too...find new stuff and some good cut thru to avoid traffic sometimes...lol
