Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
We are starting with another round of our monthly challenge. The baton has been passed from Dody to me for organizing. So, I'll do my best to keep things on track!
We have some new ones joining us for the first time...Kelly (ScrappinCEO) and Sue (stampinspooky). Sure glad y'all are joining in the fun!
Now to get everyone up to speed here......
We have 12 players...one for each month. Each one of you have signed up for a month to send out their challenge to the rest of the group. The monthly challenge hostess gets to decide which images to send, how many images, color family, design paper, embellishments etc to send. You need to include a note with specific challenge directions with your envelopes.
Remember you only prepare for one month and send to the other members....plus, don't forget to have one for yourself!
We need to share! All of us want to see what wonderful things you have done. Namely when you send out the envelopes for the month! So post on here first....then you can add it to your gallery or blog.
Let's plan on mailing the swaps out by the first of each month or very close to it. A regular stamp should be enough postage for each envelope. But, if you send out more images, designer paper or embellishments....you should get them weighed. That way, those receiving won't have to pay the over due postage. If you have questions....feel free to PM me.
So a recap:
** The hostess of the month will choose color combo, images etc and send envelopes out to each player by the first of the month.
** Include specific directions in your envelope
** Players will supply their own cardstock card base, and other card stock they want to use. If you don't have the exact colors...just use what you have!
** Post on this thread first and then add it to your gallery or blog.
** Let us know when you are sending out your envelopes. It is also nice to hear when they are arriving.
This will be fun to see what everyone comes up with. I've already sent out the addresses to the group. If you need it again...just PM me.
Happy Stamping!
~Suzy

Sorry about not getting here sooner. I'm working on some ideas. I already have a theme in mind. Now to get going. I'm thinking something unusual would be a good thing.

Well, we start a new thread here.....starting tomorrow. Hard to believe May is knocking at our door!
I'm going to add a little spice to our challenges this year! I thought it would be fun to see more of the cards being posted on this thread...and in our galleries on here.
So, this is my plan.......
Each of you that gets your card posted to this thread, in your gallery,or link to your gallery during the month that the challenge envelope was sent out will get a chance to win a prize. I will keep track of who has posted for the month...then at the end of the month (or as close to it as possible). I will draw a name....that person will win a little something!
It will still be a "when you get to it" challenge....but, I figured this way, those that do get it done in a timely fashion should get a reward for posting it on here!
Then, I'll keep track of those that are getting them done and posted....in a separate pot...I'll have the names of those that do this all year. So besides having the monthly drawing...we'll have an end of the year drawing too.
Recap:
Get your card made....
Post it on this thread....or a link to your gallery in the same month that the challenge envelope arrived. Example: May challenge arrives, May card done, May card posted before the end of the month on thread or gallery on SCS.
I'll keep track of the ones that are posted here....put their names down. I'll draw from the ones that put a picture that month. I'll announce who our winners were by the beginning of the following month.
Those that have been getting done each month will have a "end of the year" pot that their names will be in for another prize.
So I hope that this pumps everyone up to post their cards on this thread..and put them in their gallery. If you have questions.....just let me know. I hope I explained it well.....

What a fun idea, Suzy!!! Do you want/need anyone to donate prizes??
Another question ... Can we put a post to our blog instead of our gallery? I very rarely upload to the gallery.
appreciate the offer on prizes.....I'm pretty well covered there!
Now to answer you other question....about posting your cards. Sure, you can post to your blog....but, it won't count in the drawing. The reason that I'm doing the drawings each month is to encourage more to use this thread/their galleries. I don't mind you posting on your blog....but, please post here too.

Ok. I hate posting to the gallery here, so I will continue to post on the thread when I get time.
Suzy, I love the idea of posting cards here!!! I hope to see more each month. I may not put any in my gallery but I will Photobucket them here like before. Thanks!

I enjoy popping in on the thread to see what is posted too...that is a great encouragement Suzy...
Got my May goodies - I have a crop this Friday with 499 other folks, so I have to be organized so I think this will land in my bag for the crop. I am not going to attempt to work on scrapbook pages - going with cards, as we have to carry everything in one trip and stand in line to get in - so its going to be cards. So hopefully I will have something to show on Saturday.

Morning ladies...wow, it's been awhile since I got on ...
Suzy love the idea about posting on the thread or in the gallery....love to see what everyone has done. I would love to have time to go to everyone's blog, but it will be so much easier for me this way.
Wow...Deb.....you were on early! Sorry I missed ya!
Yes, I'm going to be watching my mailbox too!
Roxie....oh my....yes, I would take cards to work on too. Standing in line to get in would make me rethink what I was hauling in! Have fun....can't wait to hear how it went!

I was wondering, when we send our packets could we maybe post the set or name if a single stamp and the company...so for those of us that do choose to put our cards in the gallery can have the proper info to do that with ... just a thought !

That's a great idea. I like to know that, too, to put on my blog.
My challenge came today too! What an interesting selection, Sue. The CB embossed papers are great. Just a suggestion for the future, sometimes the ink rubs off from the images onto the other treasures. Maybe we should think about putting a piece of copy paper between images & 'stuff'. Telling what the stamps are is a good idea too, if we know! Even the punches would be good to know~ not for the gallery but for our own shopping knowledge, LOL!!!

And the Cuttlebug folders. I've noticed, though, on those that they don't put the names on the folders, so it's hard to figure out the names of each. It would be nice to know, though, so that we could run out and buy that folder if we just 'gotta' have it.

WOW, Roxie! 500 of you. That sounds like a lot of FUN. I wonder what the world record would be for the largest crop. hehe
Definitely sounds as if Cards is the way to go. Either that or Page kits where it's all planned out, all you have to do is stick into place or maybe catch up on some journaling. Can't wait for pics!
