Headed Home - RAIN IN THE FOREST - Thank you for swapping with me!
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the fact that I got sick the week this swap was originally due and could not respond to PM's requesting my address, I am extending the due date to May 5 to allow all of the swappers time to get their cards to me. I apologize for the inconvenience!
It's time for a new Forest Swap! EVERYONE is WELCOME to join!!! This is my 10th forest swap (I'm the Forest Ranger) and each one has been a lot of fun.
We are a chatty group - those of us in the forest together - and have come to refer to one another as Forest Friends. As each swap winds down, a new one takes form. After all, we have to have somewhere to hang out and chat. LOL!
Here are the details!
This swap will be due in the springtime, so what better idea for a theme than rain – RAIN IN THE FOREST! Swappers are encouraged to create full-sized cards that have something to do with rain – umbrellas, puddles, flowers (that grow thanks to spring rains), raindrops, etc. Just for fun, everyone who joins will get a rain’y image back in their return envelope and maybe some other rain item as well.
These are due in my hands on or before April 23.
AS A LITTLE EXTRA SOMETHING… and since I love to use found/recycled items on cards, anyone who uses a recycled or found item on her cards AND TELLS ME ABOUT IT will get an extra card in her return envelope. The extra card will be made by me and will include a recycled/found item in its creation. BUT YOU MUST TELL ME YOU’VE USED A FOUND/RECYCLED ITEM… please don’t make me hunt for it on your card.
Post #2 of this thread will be used to make a list of those swappers using found/recycled items on their cards.
Sooooooooo… are we ready to get this swap started???
Steps to take in the Rain In the Forest Card Swap:
Step One Sign up – take a spot today! (or two or three, but each spot needs to be a different card design). This is a 5 + 1 Swap, which means you send 6 cards, the Ranger – that’s me – keeps one for being a fun hostess, and you get 5 back. You will not get one of your own cards, so be sure to make an extra for yourself.
Step Two Germinate an idea for your card. To germinate is defined as to sprout; bud; develop. There is NVR on these cards, but please use at least two layers of quality cardstock.
Step Three Expand your idea by adding at least one embellishment.
Step Four
Once your cards are mature (finished) place them in a ziplock bag (to protect them as they travel to my house through thunderstorms and such). Include your real name, your SCS name, and the name of the swap for identification purposes.
Step Five Enlarge your forest by mailing your cards to me along with a self-addressed stamped envelope (with enough postage on it to mail cards back to you… along with a couple of extra postage stamps in case more postage is needed. Unused stamps will be returned to you.) In return, I will mail to you five unique RAIN IN THE FOREST cards within a reasonable amount of time at the conclusion of this swap.
A few last thoughts…
… PM me when you’re ready to ship and I will give you my address.
… Hang out with the FOREST FRIENDS. There will be lots and LOTS of chatting, fun quotes, contests, prizes, the sharing of recipes, maybe even a joke or two. You never know what to expect in the forest.
... Have fun!
To get the fun started, I've chosen 5 mystery numbers. The swappers who sign up for those 5 spots will each win a prize!!! BUT I'm not telling what the numbers are until someone lands on the spot.

Here's a shout out to all the forest friends from our bluegirl Lori! She and I were emailing a couple of weeks ago and she said whenever I opened the new forest swap to tell everyone Hi and that she misses you! She also asked to be in the swap, so she's here, too!
Jeanette, I would like one spot please. I love chatting with you ladies. I will have to work on my image, though. Not sure I have anything yet that will work, but I do have friends with lots of toys!
WOW--it took me three seconds to find this after a prompt in my letter swap, but here I am. I do run, quick like a bunny, or cow, or elephant!
Two spots for me--I need to think about the recycled part though
