Headed home!: Fabric Frenzy 3+1 cards, due 4/15/11
I love to use fabric on my cards, and hosted a similar swap last year, and thought it was time for round two.
Here are the all-important details:
This is a 3+1 card swap, no envies needed unless you go with an "odd" sized card. You'll send in 4 cards (1 is for me, your hostess) and get back 3 cards different from your own, so be sure to make one to keep.
Please use good quality cardstock, at least two layers and 1 embellishment (your fabric piece can count).
Sign the back of your cards so we know who's terrific work we get back.
Your swaps are due in my mailbox by April 15, 2011.
If you sign up for multiple spots, please send in different ideas for each, and if there is not a large participation, be aware you may get one of your own back (I try hard to avoid this!)
Most importantly - Be creative! Show off your talents! Use fabric somewhere on your card...hence the topic of this swap.
Please post when you mail me your swap so I can be on the lookout. When mailing, remember to package securely (I use a ziploc bag marked with my name and address) and include return postage, remember, no metered strips. Don't forget a return addressed package/envelope (will reuse yours upon request). **Until now I have very kindly returned swaps at my own cost SEVERAL times, even after repeatedly asking the swapper to send me postage, etc. I will NOT return anymore swaps without adequate postage.**
Mail your lovely creations to:
5307-B Suburban Dr
Cambridge, MD 21613
If you commit to this swap and can not complete it, please let me know - I understand life sometimes get in the way. Please respect your fellow swappers and don't just flake out. Likewise, if you'll be a bit late turning in your swap, let me know and I'll accommodate. I will swap out and return to you within a week. If we have a large group, I will be happy to swap the first half out early if everyone agrees.
Just in from a wonderful evening with my work family, had a great dinner (Old Salty's, Jaime), gifts galore for everyone, and lots of fun.
Tomorrrow is a lazy day, if the weather co-operates we'll be putting outside decorations up, and then it's onto the big Apple on Sunday.
Ummmm Old Saltys! I have not ate there in several years......are the home made rolls still the same recipe? When I was at college, the owners used to send me a dozen rolls whenever my parents came up to visit! Not the same owners now, but I wonder if the roll recipe is still the same anyway.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend, I look forward to hearing all bout Becca's trip to the American Girl Store in NYC!
My SIL Deby is having a birthday party for two of the four boys tomorrow afternoon and our Church dinner is tomorrow night. I plan to get my Christmas cards completed Sunday evening

I hate to have to be nasty about postage, I added it up from my last 2 swaps I hosted, and it was over $20 I had to pay out to return stuff for people. That's why I didn't host for awhile. So I had to put my foot down this time.
NY was a great day - pouring when we got to American Girl, stopped by the time we left, and it was in the 50s so perfect weather. Hit Disney, rode the Toys R Us Ferris Wheel in the big store, bought all green M&M's at the candy shop, B had her first "vender cart" food She got her Kit doll and a few things to go with her, I was shocked she was under and hour in the 3 floor American Girl store! She was totally well behaved all day, listened to me in crowds, I told her I'll take her again by herself anytime(was worried, since this summer hubby was with us). LOVED the bus, neither of us felt car sick at all, they did a number of crafts and movies with the kids, and we were there before we knew it! Definitely going to do that a couple times a year.
Man I hate snow, and no one around here knows to slow down and drive sensibly in it. My mom and I were the next town over (15 miles) and it took us an hour to get home in the wet mess, with cars all over the highway in ditches.
