Once I was able to work I really didn’t craft very much due to a lack of time and supplies however a decade later everything in my life changed. I was divorced; a single parent, and I was put on permanent disability because of a few surgery debacles. After a couple of years of recovery, I finally got to a point where I was having a few good days and wanted to find something to do. Thanks to the Internet I discovered the Stampin’ Up! website and I have been hooked ever since. I started card making for family & friends. After a few months of that, my creativity had dwindled so I started looking for inspiration and discovered SCS and the rest is history.
My favorite swapping experience…..hmmm, that’s a good question, it’s probably the camaraderie of the ladies on SCS. Meeting all of the magnificent, caring ladies from around the world on SCS has just been wonderful. It is a great feeling to know that I can talk to someone at any time of the day or night. I never thought when I joined SCS that it would become such an important part of my life. There are so many possibilities here on SCS and such great tutorials that anyone can feel confident to try a new technique. I now know what an ATCs is; an Inchie, or a Twinchie, 3x3s, and Sketches. Oh, and I cannot forget the Gallery!! I am constantly searching the gallery for ideas to tweak.
When I host a swap, I do my best to make sure everyone enjoys their visit. I try to make the swap fun and to keep everyone chatting with one another. I love to create challenges throughout each swap. I offer prizes to entice everyone to step out of their comfort zone and try something new. Maybe it’s because of my age but I just love that I can talk to ladies all over the world from my desktop. Sharing ideas, techniques and designs is what SCS and stamping is all about.
You asked what my favorite tool is and as of today it is the Big Shot. I have found myself addicted to embossing. There are soooo many different dies and embosslits now that you can go crazy. I love how quick and easy it is to get a big impression.
My other hobbies include cooking, baking, travel/rv-ing and going for walks with my fiancé. I am divorced with a 15 year old daughter. The ladies that have been in any of my swaps know all about my wonderful DD lol. I am engaged to the most amazing guy. He came into my life right before all of the surgeries and was a saint throughout the whole ordeal and continues to be one today! No, we do not plan to get married. We’ve been there; we’ve done that and we don’t want to do it again. We are huge animal lovers. In fact, we have dogs, cats, a bird, tortoises, turtles, snakes, bearded dragons, frogs, geckos and a chameleon.
Thank you; thank you; thank you everyone for being there for me and for nominating me for this honor. It truly is a surprise. I try very hard to create cards that you would want to share. I strive for a simple perfection in each card. I’m glad it has been noticed. If it wasn’t for all of the cleaver inspiration at SCS and the blogs I have discovered, I would not be able to create cards and swaps that people enjoy.
