I finished my concertina fold cards. They took much longer than I thought and used tons of paper - both card stock and designer paper! I really like the way they turned out.

Sue_zzz - would you sign me up for another set of cards? This time I want to try the Diagonal Fold card I found at another sight. Here's the link with pictures and instructions: Diagonal Fold Cards: Too Cool Stamping: Fancy Fold Cards

Thanks!

Hi Dani - Glad you're having fun with the cards you're making.

I wasn't sure how many cards you wanted to make so I put you in the same group as you'd previous signed up for. Can't wait to see all you've been doing. Thanks for sharing the link to yet another Fancy Fold. I went out to that site and found lots of new Fancy Fold cards. I might try to Shadow Box card...I thought that one looked pretty cool and it folds flat for easy mailing.

Happy Sunday to everyone!

Good morning everyone!

What a strange day it has been already...

I stayed up until about 2 a.m. grading papers and then woke up every hour to stir some applesauce I'm canning. At 6 a.m. when I'm normally getting up for the day, I turned off the applesauce and fell back to sleep until after 8 a.m! I haven't slept past 8 a.m. in over 40 years! I'm sure it was a combination of having been up most of the night and the fact that it's rainy and foggy outside so at 8 a.m. it was still dark and dreary outside.

So, even though I was late, I boiled my jars, filled them with the applesauce, boiled them again to seal the lids, then refilled the crockpot with pork ribs and barbeque sauce for dinner tonight! I had made a chocolate cheesecake last night for my coffee buddies so I dropped it off at McDonald's, grabbed a coffee, visited for 5 minutes and still made it to work on time! I'm amazed that I managed that!

After today, I have off until next Wednesday. Fun...fun...fun!

Hi Nikki...

YES - flip-it cards count as fancy fold cards. No one's mentioned that fold yet so it'll be especially neat to have you do flip it cards! Can't wait to see them!

I'll put you on the list for 2 spots in the 4+1 category.

Happy Friday!!!

I was looking through some youtube videos last night, looking for some new and different fancy fold cards. I found several videos about a folded star card so I tried making one this morning. It looks complicated but it's actually extremely easy...a lot of paper and paper cutting but the actual fold is very easy. Anyway, I've decided that will be my second set of cards for this swap. I've got all the cutting, gluing and folding done, all that's left is to do some last minute embellishing and make some matching envies. (The cards a slightly larger than normal cards so I'll have to make envelopes for the cards - might as well make matching envies!) Fun...fun...fun!!!

I finished making my cards over the weekend. I'm mailing them this afternoon. I'm new to swapping and never would have tried these new kinds of folded cards if I hadn't signed up for this swap. It was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone is working on. Thanks!

Good Morning All!

It's a beautiful day here in NE. I stayed up late last night watching the news to see what havoc Sandy is creating on the east coast. Hope everyone is weathering the storm safely.

Had planned to stamp yesterday but ended up putting in the last of the storage shelves in my basement storage room. That meant that I could finally unpack the last of my stamping supplies because I finally had a place to put everything! (Last July I sold my big home and moved to a townhome...I went from almost 5000 sq feet to about 3000 sq feet...I've been having to get rid of things and find ways to be more efficient with the limited space I now have.)

I have an extra bedroom that I've been using for stamping, sewing, and stained glass work. Yesterday, I made room in the storage room for the stained glass workbench (it's better to have a tile floor not carpeting for stained glass work - the storage room is tiled). With all the moving boxed out of the basement, today I'll set up my stamping room in the basement and use the upstairs room for my sewing room.

So, I'm moving and organizing today...what are you up to today?

Things are finally settling back to "normal" after SuperStorm Sandy. We lost power for a few days but things didn't get nearly as bad here as they did in NY and NJ. My stamping had to be put aside for a little while.

Hope everyone is doing well. I've missed "talking" to everyone.

I am so much more productive when I clean my house before stamping. It's such a good, relaxing feeling to know that the chores are done and you don't have to feel guilty about playing.

Have LOTS of fun! I haven't been to a craft fair in several years so I don't know what the hot items are anymore. I'm sure you'll come up with some really good ideas. Share with us how well you did at your craft fair once it's over.

Happy Saturday! It's a beautiful day so far but temperatures are predicted to drop 30 degrees and it's going to be rainy...and maybe a little snow by sunset! There's a part of me that hoping we'll get a little snow...that first snow of the year always feels magical!
