It's going to be a busy day. We hope Pat gets his "walking papers" at his appointment with the doc this afternoon. We plan on packing and being ready to leave tomorrow a.m. for home. I have mixed feelings. We've been here over 3 months, longer than we originally planned. I am looking forward to being home and sleeping in my own bed but also a little sad to be leaving family and friends here in WA. I am happy that I've been able to see the beginning of the leaves changing color...Not something I see in the SE AZ desert! So I've been out snapping pix to remind me of this time when I'm home. We've had exceptionally beautiful weather for over a month now. I think there was only a few drops of rain for the whole month of September...Just beautiful!

Hope your travels are safe Judy and that you got to enjoy the leaves. We commented yesterday when we were driving home from the Heart Walk that it seemed the leaves just popped in the last 2-3 days. They are so pretty right now.

I feel like I fell off the SCS planet, I have been so busy with singing.
Before I get into that, let me just say, that I want to be in on the Secret Santa, no matter when.
I do not know if I ever mentioned to you all that I am now singing in a quartet. We got together to fill out a chorus show back in June and have been going great guns ever since. We have since sung for another chorus performance, and a second time to the chorus itself during our retreat (in order to sing at a performance, you have to "audition" for the chorus, so that was our first time). Just over a week ago, we sang our debut for the whole Region (gasp!), which is all of New England, parts of NY and parts of Canada. Tomorrow we have our first paid private performance singing for an 85th birthday party. We have had other requests that we have had to turn down cuz the coincided with chorus events, but I heard this morning that we have been asked to sing for a wedding!

Hi everyone. It was a very busy day today. Spent the a.m. getting most of our stuff packed. DH saw the doc in the afternoon and got an ok from him to travel with the stipulation he would continue p.t. when we get back to AZ. On our way to get our vehicle serviced before hitting the road it overheated. We made it to an automotive repair place nearby and will have a part replaced tomorrow a.m. Hopefully, it will get done early and we can load up and hit the road in the morning. If our departure time gets delayed until afternoon we'll probably opt to wait until Wednesday a.m. before leaving.

It's not such a good afternoon for me and my DH. The repairs that were done to our vehicle before we left WA did not fix the problem with overheating. We noticed a continuation of the problem as we hit a traffic slow down going through Portland, OR yesterday afternoon. When we got to Salem we thought we better get it checked out. This meant an overnight stay. This a.m. the repair place said we needed the radiator replaced and that they would have to order it. They estimated they would have it installed by 5 p.m. today. Sure hope so! This means we'll have to spend another night in Salem. We had hoped to be in southern CA by now. Now we're hoping we can leave here early tomorrow a.m.

Thanks, Paola! Pat is doing okay. He did say he did not sleep well last night. But he seems to be doing okay with the situation today. I just wish we could have had the problem repaired when we were in WA and not having to pay for extra hotel nights. WE ARE FINE! Have to keep that in prespective.

Barb!!!! What did you do!!!!! My heart just BURST today when I saw the mailbox ... I literally CRIED!!! I'm so very blessed by your friendship and I can't tell you how much joy it brought me (and at a time when I needed it the most - God is good! You are an ANGEL, truly!) Muah!!

FYI - My two guys and I are going on a little trip.... so you won't see me here for a few days. I will miss you! Lorie, we are going to Missouri to see my parents, but we don't travel near you now that we've moved.... so please don't chase down any cars that you think I might be in.
