Good morning, all - sending great big hugs for you to warm your day! The rain threatened this morning, just as I was half way around the block with the puppies, but it held off and now the sun is shining. What a positively gorgeous day.

Quiet but busy weekend here - dh's birthday is this week. We did some running around in between the rain! We got him a very unique gift - Lorie probably has 2-3 sitting around on her farm! LOL! But it was a chore and a funny story and I'll have to share that one with you later At least we can celebrate while we wait and make the day/week a happy one. Did someone say CAKE!!

GOOD MORNING, SISTAHS!

KELLY! I'm so glad to see you checking in the 'hood! And with a smile on your face. I hope T's birthday is a happy one and I'm very curious about his prezzy!
Yay for cake! If I lived closer I'd bake one for him. Give him a big HUG from me.

Hi Jeanette! Hi Barb!!

Default Question of the Day

Today's Question:

If you could redo/renovate one room in your house, which would you choose?

If I could, we'd build on a craft room. If it has to be an existing room... the kitchen. Neither will happen since we don't own the home. LOL!

Hi Kadie! I did email an address list to Tanja. I told her you might have a more current one than the one I sent.

QOTD: Since my house is fairly new there is no one room I would totally renovate. We purchased our house before it was built and had the option of changing one of the bedrooms into a storage area and extended space in the garage. Knowing what I know now I would have kept the bedroom and used it exclusively as my craft room. Taking what I have now there are unfinished projects in each room that I would love to have completed, like window treatments.

Hello sisters!!! So glad to be back, too

Kadie, Judy alredy sent me the list (thak you so much, sweet Judy). Have there been changes in addresses lately?

Is Michelle still around here? I haven't gone through the T6 so I'm not sure and just asking ...

Lorie, have you had the storms going through your neck of the wood? They had it in our news here so it must have been bad.

QOTD: The whole first floor ..But first we have to renovate my and the boy's craft room due to water damage that occured when DH came back from Afghanistan....... But this is a longer story and I'm so grrrrr!!!!

Yep, DH is home and the water damage isn't too bad. After reading what so many others are experiencing around here ... this is just peanuts!!!

I'm off to bed now - nighty-night!

Oh goodness, no - I want one, though! I doubt my honey would know what to do with one of those - though he did grow up on a farm in the long vast hills and moutains of Espana! The man doesn't even mow our lawn - a tractor would be a bit of a stretch, lol!

Tanja, I'm sorry to hear about your water damage! And your hubby was in Afghanistan, God bless your socks off. How worried you must have been but PTL he is home and you can start this new journey in your lives! You and the boys must be rejoicing to have him there (water and all)

Hugs to all

My son's room! He still has the color/scheme from the nursery we made for him. It just screams baby boy. Although the baby crib, changing table, etc have all been upgraded to big boy furniture, the wall paint, decor and color scheme is all still the same and I'd totally love to just deck out his room something cool like his beloved sports or Knight-y

Today's Question:
29% of women do this every day. What is it?
a hint will come later, if need be

Shaving legs?
Making pasta for dinner - wait that need to be more....
Watching HGTV and making new plans for redoing rooms?
Do you mean just women in the US or all over the world?

GOOD MORNING, SISTAHS!

DH and I just got home from our a.m. walk. Missed walking for 3 days for one reason or another so it felt good. Plan on making cards today for several swaps.
It's blue skies and sunshine here with temps suppose to hit the low 90s.

QOTD: Pray (I hope that more than 29% do this!)

Good afternoon everyone!
Just had to stop by and see how everyone is doing. I missed checking in yesterday, and I missed you girlies!

It's been totally nuts here. My grandpa (mom's dad and not the one I live with) was taken to the hospital (2 hours away) with aspirated pneumonia on Sunday. He's VERY sick, but was somewhat improved yesterday. I spent the day with him and mom at the hospital yesterday. Okay, so he's 92 years old and hasn't been able to walk since he broke his hip 4 years ago. He lives in the same nursing home where my granny was. Since his mobility is so limited, about the only things he enjoys anymore are sitting outside in the sun and his chewing tobacco, both of which the nursing home lets him partake of. Would you believe he fell asleep with a "chew" in his mouth and aspirated a mouthful of tobacco? This was a nearly fatal event for him!! He was gravely ill when he was transported to the bigger hospital, and he will be in ICU for several days. CRAZY, huh? I just can't believe it!

On top of all of that, my sister noticed that our little Gracee has been bruising really easily, and she took her for blood work on Friday. They got the results yesterday and her white cell count is dangerously low! As you can imagine we are all VERY worried, but we're hoping this is a side effect from some of her seizure medicine, and not something more serious. Sad part is that while rare, this could be a side effect of the medicine that's been the most effective on her seizures. I'm beginning to wonder if our lives are ever going to be the least bit "normal" or uneventful again!!

Hey Tanja!
They were predicting some bad weather for us, but for the most part, it stayed east of us out in Kansas. They were hit pretty hard around the Wichita area. We had several days of rain and mild storms, but they lost much of their strength as they moved our way. Feel bad for those who were affected, though. Been there, and it's very scary! We were bracing ourselves, though.

Kelly, you've got me VERY curious about "T's" birthday present. There's so much stuff laying around this farm that it could be nearly ANYTHING!!

A JD tractor was a good guess, Kadie!

Been there too and I know how that feels. My heart goes out to everyone in this area.

I hope Grandpa will be on the mend soon.
And bless her little heart: I will keep my fingers crossed for little Gracee. Sending some prayers too!
Hugs my dear friend!!

QOTD: No specific room, but I'd sure like to change the flooring in this whole house! I hate carpet, and am aching for tile and hardwood like I had in our old house. Grandpa just can't motivate on tile or hardwood, though. He's a risk for a fall as it is, and that would just be asking for trouble!

Thanks, Tanja! We'll take all the good thoughts and prayers we can get!

Sorry about your flooding. Been there and done that, too. NO FUN!!

I bet you did have your share of storms while you were in Alabama! They were hit so hard last Spring. Just devastating! How's your weather now?

Well, we have been in Enterprise in 2007 when the deadly tornados hit the town. Oh boy, DH was gone (as always in those situation ) I had a toddler in my arms and a baby in my belly and the storms devasted nearly the whole area. 9 kids and an elderly ladies died that afternoon in Enterprise. So I think PTL for just yucky weather in the north of Germany. We have spring weather here now. AT the moments it quite cold with around 50 °F but spring has sprung - literally - and it's green everywhere around. Love this time of the year but sure wish it would be warmer.
