*** Due Date September 30th ***
Canadian Based
All Players Welcome!
I find I always need lots of birthday cards, and no matter how many images at my disposal, after a while all my cards seem to look the same. I thought it would be great fun to swap with some other folks and see what they come up with.
Sign up for as many spots as you'd like, but please, make a different design for each spot you take.
Description: Full Sized Card - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Please use at least 2 layers & 1 embellishment!
Quantity: 5+1 -You will get 5 cards back. One is for the hostess (me!). Please note that you not get one of your own back, so make an extra one for yourself!
Vendor Products: No vendor restrictions but PLEASE use very good quality cardstock (preferably SU! or comparable). It's not nice to get flimsy cards. Please include at least one embellishment.
Recipe: This is not required, but please put a sticky note or stamp your card with your signature, so everyone will know who to thank and who to leave a comment for!
Due Date: September 30th - I will mail them as soon as I receive all swaps! If your cards are received after the due date, I will have to return them to you. I can't hold up a swap for anyone, it's just not fair to everyone else.
Mailing Instructions: Place swap cards in a large baggie for waterproof purposes. Write your real name, SCS name and swap name on a piece of paper or the baggie for identification purposes.
Swap Return for Canadian Players: Please include self-addressed stamped envelope. The amount of postage on your SASE should be the same amount used to mail to hostess. Please include 2 additional stamps to insure enough postage to return swaps. I'll return any additional postage if not used. PLEASE SEND ONLY POSTAGE STAMPS, NO DATED STAMPS OR METERED MAIL.
Swap Return for American Players: Please include a self-addressed NOT STAMPED envelope. Please enclose either American money or some American stamps. This way I'll 'buy' the stamps from you with your return postage. No metered strips.. those won't work!
Please PM for my address.
I can open up more spots if needed.

Good question, I never thought of that!
I mean regular adult cards that don't have little choo choo trains, nothing x rated please (o heavens, my MIL would faint! LOL!)
Another good question!
You only have to have enough creativity to come up with one card, then make multiples of it (if you run out of a certain ribbon or whatever and substitute a different one on a couple that`s no big deal). Then you get back 5 completely different ones. That`s the beauty of it. Dream up one card, make a bunch, keep a couple for you, send a bunch to me, and then get a bunch of different ones back Now you have a selection to pick from!

I was just making sure... ya never know these days! And, for better or worse, my mind often travels to the gutter! *sigh*
But, I can make normal adult cards, too, so quit laughing at me!
Only I can gutter a simply titled swap! Sorry!
ha ha ha ha.....have you seen the digital image by Victoria Case of the man with no shirt and a cowboy had on? I`ve been debating getting it since it would make a funny card for some of my girlfriends...LOL!

here, for you visual folks, is a link, go down to about the 8th card...

so, what themes are you all thinking of? I`m working on birthday cards right now, my usual fallback is an image with an animal of some sort (elephant, bear, hedgie, mouse, rabbit) holding a gift with a bow, or a cake or a cupcake or a balloon....
I think almost any card would work for a birthday, just put "Happy birthday" words on it
hmm, so just to make sure - what images we should NOT use for grown-up cards? How about Tildas, Willows, Sugar Nellies? Are they suitable?
Well, I trust your discretion! The SN where she is carrying a cake or a gift seems good, whereas strawberry tea, where the little girl is having a tea party with a teddy might not be as good a choice, but I leave it to you. Make a card you would like to give to your coworker or neighbor.
I already decided what cards I'm going to make for this swap - now just pick the right color.
Do we get a hint? Is it masculine/feminine/unisex? I've seen some of the awesome cards in your gallery and will be interested in seeing how these turn out!
hmm, I have 2 things in mind - one can be unisex depending on color, one is feminine (flower).. maybe I'll use one of the ideas for the card club kits

I'm pretty new here, but I'd like to sign up for a spot please! No idea what set I'll be using yet though!
Welcome, both to this swap and to Splitcoast. SC is a great community and there is lots of inspiration to be found in...in the galleries, in the tutorials (in the resources section), and these swap boards for cards and images too
You've got some time to decide and experiment on the cards you'll be sharing, and I'm sure you'll like the ones you get back since we have some pretty talented folks signed up so far.

I always find it hard to get an idea at first, especially when the cards are for someone else! And then after I have brainstormed I suddenly have too many ideas LOL! I am glad you have a way to use both ideas
