I just heard that on the news about the flashing lights and the gross parts of the Breaking Dawn movie...all the MORE reason I will avoid it!

I get spazo in the car when the sun is behind the trees and the light flicks 100,000,000 times in my face--drives me bonkers! haha So I am sure I'd be one of those pukey gals stammering out of the movie--gripping the walls...frothing hahahahahahahha

Happy Sunday to everyone !!

Donelda- You already know when your order arrives from PTI ? I am waiting now for the 15th !! Meanwhile it is in Germany, I hope I can pick up next week by customs. It irritates me that I pay so much shipping and it takes so long !!

I see that there are some Twilight fans here
Iīm with you , Donelda. To keep up with younger and to know what is talked about, you have to inform yourself. I'm not a fan- but I know what it is. LOL

If it makes you feel any better Imke, I'm waiting on a PTI order that I placed on the 10th. If it gets here any later, I'll be late sending my Secret Sis package. I'd send it out without the goodies but I ordered two and what would I do with TWO? I suppose I could save it to the next round. (sigh) It kinda bums me out that they are a wee bit unreliable in their shipping.

I don't really know when my PTI order will arrive. My order was shipped on Oct 10 ... that seems like such a long time ago. I am surprised it is taking this long. They give a postal tracking number but once it crosses the border it doen't track any more!! (what's the point). I know what you mean about spending all that money on shipping, but honestly I don't think the time it takes is PTI's fault. I blame the postal system!! It doesn't really matter anyway, becuase DH has said I am not getting any of it until my birthday which isn't for anther 3 weeks anyway. Knowing him he probably already has it and just won't tell me so I don't go snooping around looking for it so I can sneak some of it to use now. LOL!! (not that I would ... but it is a tempting thought!).

I keep wondering too. I have a friend who has read "Dance with Dragons" and I asked her if the story ends with this one and she said, "no". Ugh.

I know what you mean...can't believe I keep turning the pages. I am next on the list for the book on CD, I'm reading Clash of Kings (second book). I think part of it is because each chapter is about a different character and I want to see whats happening with him or her!! I also agree about the hero's, all through the first book I kept asking everyone else who's book is this?? Who is the main character...thought it was Eddard until he bit the dust, now I am thinking its Jon Snow, or maybe Ayra...she is a special girl!!

Hey Ladies!
Dec stuff is being all mailed in the morning! You should have it shortly.

Susanne, I should have mailed you my turkey leftovers, lol! I didn't want them at all. It's funny I'm not big on meat, especially meat on the bone, and it's way worse when I cook it. Yucko! LOL!

Hmmm, going to have to check out the fire and ice series, sounds interesting. I'll have to look for the HBO series, too. Never heard of it. Always looking for a good read.

Laughing about the pronunciation of Hermione, I also was reading it wrong all through the books, then went OH, that's how you pronounce it when I saw the movies.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy Monday !!

Kathy- Thanks for your note. Canīt wait to see for what you have decided.

Joanna- I didnīt think that within the United States it can also take that long ! I think i'm spoiled by the German postal system. I'll send something today and tomorrow it's there.

Donelda- You really think it is perhaps already there? Since your DH would be very cunning

Can't wait to see the December images, Kathy!

Joanna -- yes, there is at least one more book in Martin's series and maybe one after that. At this rate, the last book won't come out for ten years!

Imke -- that is impressive speed for the German PO! Our system can be amazingly fast sometimes and incredibly slow at other times.

Is anyone reading Christopher Paolini's dragon series? I just finished reading Inheritance. I have to say that I was a tad disappointed in that one.

Kathy--if I hear it one more time about NOT getting left-overs from Thanksgiving Day from my Patrick!!! AAACK! I have to cook a turkey with the fixings now! He is such a man-boy who loves to eat and cook himself...maybe he can step it up and help me? I will see...

OH have to share this funny: Speaking of Patrick and food--mind you he works out, is over 6 ft tall and really loves my cooking. So the other night I whipped up the easy crock-pot Zesty chicken recipe, invited Auntie Mary over, we ate in the dining room and Patrick began to critique the flavor of the food...ended it with; "Good meal mom, great chicken taste-I like the zing of the seasoning--this is really nice!" Omgosh, Shane almost spit out his food when he bursted into laughter--called his brother out and said--what are you some food critic (along with some other names I shall remain)...and then Patrick realized...oh...he's been watching too many foodie shows on TV...laughing...it was so funny---this big tall macho sports guy telling me my food was "nice" hahahaha

QueenieJo...I haven't read those but heard a few of them were page turners...I need a GREAT book to relax with--the problem is; I read for 15 minutes and start to snooze off! Plus, I need a magnifying glass and a reading lamp attached to my shoulder in order to sit still and read!!! Reading glasses--a must in denial here!

I have read the first three books -- amazing talent for someone so young! He must be a homeschooler's hero; then again, he's kinda my hero, too.

Still, the last book dragged on a bit for me, so we will have to see how the last book reads. It IS the last one of the series, isn't it?

Susanne -- too funny story about Patrick! Now if he can cook as well as he speaks the jargon, he will be some lucky girl's dream come true !

I wouldn't rush out to get it. I thought it was a snoozer. After all the build-up, I had a problem with the way they got rid of ol' Galby. I'd mail you my copy of the book but that thing weighs a ton!

And yeah ... it's the last (sorta)

QueenieJo--Patrick is seriously thinking of going to "chef school" or studying it in college...Oh this would be so cool--so nontraditional with all the business majors, atty's and teachers in our family's...He does enjoy cooking here--and makes it HIS WAY!

One Sunday he was in charge of making breakfast--I specifically asked for my omelette to have American cheese...when it was plopped on the plate--I took a bite and there was cheddar cheese in it--I said...Opps-did I get someone else's? He said...No, just eat it..Cheddar is better than American cheese! Kinda the tough bones approach to the customer--he does it HIS way!!! hahaha And the mess--omgosh, cracked eggs on counter, cheese on floor (Muddy was standing by just waiting for stuff to fall)...he's a sloppy chef--so I would love to see him go into that line of work..plus, of course, it has to fit into his true love of being a professional baseball player!

I got a chuckle out of Patrick's true love. I hope he DOES become famous as a either a ballplayer or a chef. My sister gave me the evil a few weeks ago when I asked her youngest daughter "What's plan B?" when Cassie told me that she wanted to be the next Taylor Swift. Apparently I'm a dream killer.

I guess I'm too much like my practical grandmother. I just believe in having more than one iron in the stove at one time. TJ wants to either be a Diamondback or Rocky ball player (he's very specific about which teams) or a spy or a chemist if nothing else pans out.

And he's right ... cheddar IS bettah!

Have to agree with Joanna on the cheddar vote -- it actually tastes like cheese to me!

I will check out inheritance from the library, eventually. I am such a 'completist' when it comes to book series that I have to finish them, even if they aren't as much fun as the first books.

Now that I said that, though, one series I am seriously considering giving up on is Laurell Hamilton's Anita Blake series. It started out as a tough gal taking on supernatural bad guys, trying to do the right thing, but now it's morphed into something verging on hard core porno. To me, that is so demeaning to the character and as icky as violence!

Jessica I agree about the Anita Blake series...I really enjoyed the first several books but seems like when she ran out of ideas she went for the porn stuff. Icky is right!! Did you say you finished the Fire and Ice series?? A few of us at work are reading it but no one is past the second book. Just wondered what you thought of them.

Yes, I finished The latest book, Dances with Dragons, a few Weeks ago. I enjoyed all of them, although it seems like almost all my favorite characters end up being killed off!

The best way to read the series is one book after another because there are so many complicated characters that you lose track of who is who when you have to wait years in between books.

It should be fun to see how faithful to the books the series is -- Martin is a consultant so hopefully it is close!

Has anyone read the Harry Dresden books? Fun books, although the series is getting a bit dark now. The series was completely different from the books; I think they only kept the names the same .

Imke: I like reading Crime novels too. I just read Black Echo from Michael Connelly and I really loved it (for Nook readers, it's only $0.99 right now!) I like how Michael Connelly writes. He also wrote Lincoln Lawyer. I gotta say that I don't like true crime. A little too gruesome

It's the last day of nice weather for us for a while. Today we are 68 but tomorrow 28 and then Friday 5 (eep). Have a good Wednesday, everyone. I'm out to enjoy the last of the mild weather.

Jessica: never read the books but I did see a few of the series. It seemed like a grown up Harry Potter.

I saw SNOW in Michigan this morning--50ish here today...still warm-we got the rain last night instead of snow! This is good since I have to schlep my wares to a card design class tonight--I think I am moving this class to my basement--too much work to SCHLEP my stuff! Ack!

Kathy--I just opened our December challenge..thank you..Cute! I love the card you sent too--you are way ahead of the ball game--I have not made any Christmas cards for us yet! EEEEK! After tonight I will start...it's been so warm it's hard to believe that Santa is coming in a couple of weeks!

QueenieJo--Funny you should say 'back-up plan'...if you heard the determination in his voice about baseball...he talks about it now like they have already signed him!...he's a very good catcher and will be playing with some college kids this summer--he doesn't care what team--keeping his options opened--like a true "free agent" haha...but I am sure he would have to go south where it's warm year round! He eats sleeps and breathes baseball...he always gets what he wants--should be interesting if this "dream" does come true...work hard-be determined and practice! But, if the chef thing works out--heck--as long as he's happy...he's thinking about his life--this is good in itself.

My niece just went to college this fall--she changed her major (4) times so far and has not even received her first report card! She is now going with the teaching degree--1st choice was Athletic Trainer (she's a sports freak), #2 was Criminal Justice (hated that instantly) #3 back to something gymclass related...#4 and present major is Teaching...so we shall see...we keep telling her--get the basics out of your way--do some job info interviews and go from there... Have a fabulous day!

I agree Pat, this is a great series of books but Jessica is right, you MUST read them constantly because there is so much going on all the time!! If I even skip one night of reading I forget what was happening in one part of the story!

PTI orders are always grounds for celebration! I really like how they pack the boxes -- all those packages nicely wrapped in white tissue paper appeals to my OCD side.

No snow here, but it was only 15 degrees this morning. Brrr!

Received my December images. Thanks, Kathy!! Cute!

As usual, I am behind in my November card. I colored the image weeks ago, but haven't put together a card, and now it's December already!! Hoping to get it together this weekend.

And have no fear...though I've not been around much, I am well aware that I am the January image sender...and will be prompt in getting it out to you all! Thanks for your patience with me!

Hi there,

Patti- Itīs so great to "see" you. You were missed !!

Jessica- Yes, their packages is really awesome. And itīs always a suprise. Becaue of the long postal time i often donīt remember what i have ordered This time i was a bit disappointed. 've only bought 2 !!! stamp sets: Holiday Lights and Mehndi Medallion. Then 3 Ribbons, 1 Button Twine, 1 DP, 1 Hawain Shores CS (LOVE IT),Pure Poppy + Vintage Ink Pad, 1 Poinsetta Dies, Tag Sale Die ...
But if I only ordered some stamps, it seems to me as if I had ordered almost nothing. LOL

Donelda- Then you could become a child and looking for his presents, hmm? Ohhhh yes, of course. The ABC dies were also in my package. I have not used it yet but the size is great.

Okay, so I actually did go and look around the house ... checked out all the typical hiding spots and I can't see any boxes anywhere! There are not a lot of places to hide things in our house so either it is in his car ... or it is not here yet! Or maybe he left it at work ... mmmm, maybe I should go visit him.

Hello ladies!

Oh no I didn't go to the post office today! Now I can't wait to get there tomorrow to see if my images are there!

I'm a romantic at heart I love to read romances. Haven't had a lot of time to read lately. I have a book started but it has been laying here untouched for weeks!

Hi Patti!
