Debra...how did you sister do with surgery? Did they find anything?

Linda/Pat---It is a riot to see everyone's take on an image--love this the best and we all have different styles which makes it every month!

I have been seeing a lot of stamping ON DP--instead of CS...I may try this tonight with a baby carriage...use buttons for the wheels...jazz it up a bit--have you been doing this technique? I think I will two tone it with some solid CS too...

Pat...I hope to accomplish this today--I am working around the cabin here and have to head out to work at 5 (Michael's class tonight) and need to prep for that as well...

I did play with making my own buttons with MS button punch and paper glaze...they look so REAL! a fraction of the weight of a real button too! Very cute...I'll show you when I have something "completed" God knows when that will be today! Have a good day everyone!

Goodmorning!!!

My sister is doing good besides being really sore and uncomfortable with the gas from where they air you up. Didn't find anything bad, but did find the problem and was able to fix it. It was scare tissue that had spread through her and causing her organs to stick together. It happened to her about 15yrs ago and it about shut the tube off going to her kidneys. Thank goodness then, she went before it completely cut off the flow. They say it is sometimes common if you have had surgery before or in darker skinned people.
We have been trying to wait on her, so she doesn't try and over do it.
Thanks for the concerns.

Going to take off Friday so I hope to post card then.

I better get back to work...hope everyone has a great day!!

Debra, glad it wasn't serious and she is being waited on a bit.

Susanne, I have a pti button die, and I thought the same thing, they look real, but are thin and easier to mail. Plus it's cool to have a button to match, made with dsp. Can't wait to see your baby carriage with button wheels. Is is a scrapbooking class tonight? Sounds fun, wish I lived closer!

Pat, chili soup??!! That sounds great, two of my favorite things. How do you make it?

Humid here, but it sounds like rain and cooler weather are on the way. Looking forward to it.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Kathy I have that PTI button die too...haven't had it very long but I never thought about using dp to make them...What a great idea!!!
My chili isn't anything special, my only secret is to freeze tomatoes when they are so plentiful that everyone is giving me their leftovers. I just take them out of the freezer and dump them into the pot. They taste so much better than the cans from the grocery store.
Our nice weather came through overnight. It was raining when I went to bed and this morning sunshine and 50 degrees. THe high today should only be in the 60's!! Love it!!

Sharing: I have to tell you gals...I have stamped a bunch of different things onto my selected small dot DP and it really does give the image a PUNCH of color--while I am at Michaels today (doing Tim Holtz demos on the floor) I plan to raid the paper dept and see what I can find--I think the trick is, the larger the image stamped on DP the better...and you don't have to have the entire imaged stamped on DP...just part of it looks pretty cool...show ya later what I am talking about! Need to find "matchy-matchy solids with coordinating DP! This style just revived a couple of older stamps!

Hi Ladies...hope everyone is having a good day!

I got my card uploaded to the gallery without a hitch this time. My card is not what I envisioned, but it does look like autumn. Enjoyed getting to see all of the wonderful takes on the image.

I am so loving this cooler weather..heck anything below a 100 has been great. Just been a lazy day here.
Yesterday my DH and I celebrated our 5yr wedding anniversary. Where does time go. We started dating in April 12,2003 (which we celebrate too..lol) We had wanted to be married on that day, but oh well. We started off the day with an awesome breakfast he prepared, then spent the rest of the day being lazy.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!
Hugs...

Debra--congrats on the anniversary--sounds like a perfect day for me! Our weather took a nosedive this week--was 80 and today it was 40 when I got up at 7 (with frost on the grass) to a high of 60. I think everyone and their uncle was out today--the roads seemed so crowded, the stores, and I think I spent a good portion of my day in lines!

Happy Saturday night everyone!

Happy Anniversary Debra and Scott! I meant to call you but forgot.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We are under a tornado warning for the next 2 hours and both of our favorite football teams are playing. Isn't that the way it goes, we will loose our direct TV as soon as the wind blows.

Hello everyone!

Gosh Linda, I hope the tornado does not appear!! crossing my fingers for you!

I have been trying really hard to NOT look at the gallery until my card is done. I've finally had a chance to color the image and I even have some designer paper picked out. I just really have to pull it all together! I am hoping to be able to do that on Tues or Wed night and post it then.

I've actually been having a hard time getting creative!! Thank goodness Blogger lets you schedule posts. Most of the cards I have posted over the last few weeks (my take 3 challenge cards) were made weeks ago and just sitting there waiting to post).

I am trying to "clean up" and " clean out" my craft room. I am hoping if I do that I won't feel so overwhelmed and that might help me get my mojo back. I have taken all the "junk" out (I tend to collect things like boxes, jars, wrappers, etc. expecting to "do somehting with them but never do) and next up is to sort through my actual supplies. I might even thin out my stamps ... get rid of some of the old Stampin' Up ones that I don't use or even like any more!

Susanne, I can't wait to see what you are doing with DP. I actually took almost all my 12 x 12 sheets and cut them into quarters! It sure did clean up my stash and looks pretty all piled up together.

Pat - I read the book "the help" and it was fantastic! I had hoped to get to the movie but no luck so far! just too busy these days I guess. Glad you liked it!!

Well, I'm bushed, off to bed for this gal! Hope to see you all tomorrow.

Just recently finished the book, "The Help" also, and I loved it, too!! Sometimes I find I am disappointed in the movie if I've read the book first. But I have heard many good things about the movie!

Congrats Susanne!! I think this makes me famous too right?? heehee

Patti I read "The Help" early this year and loved it too. The movie stays right with the book but of course they left lots out as they always do. They skimmed over some things that I thought were important in the book but I still really enjoyed it. Sissy Spaccick(terrible spelling) actually made the movie!! She plays Hilly's mother perfectly as though it was written for her. Hope you get to see it.

Imke hope all is well with you...please keep us updated.

(Either that, find a LARGER PRINTED VERSION of the book! hahaha)

Pat and Patty- Do not worry, I'm fine! I have to go to a rheumatology clinic. I had problems for several years and it will determine whether it is rheumatism. My doctor says it's better to go there, go for 8-10 days. If I'm out there, he definitely knows whether and what kind of rheumatism it is.This should save me appointments with other doctors and physiotherapy. I let myself be surprised.

Susanne- Yeah for you !!! Your card is also a big hit !!!

The book "The help" sounds intersting- iīve google it. I think I'll buy myself for the hospital stay. I'm bored otherwise.

Imke, glad to hear it is for some testing that your doctor recommends, and that you are not sick. Hopefully things will go smoothly there. You could pack your copics and some images to color maybe. It will pass the time. I agree with the ladies The Help is great.

Yea for Susanne! Way to go girl!

Susanne, just thought I'd mention that on a Kindle, you can make the print big sized, it's pretty cool! I know we were all talking about e readers a while ago, and thought I'd mention that trick that is so helpful (for those of us who don't want to admit we may need glasses, lol).

Kathy, it is also helpful for those of us that wear glasses and still need the ereader help to make the print larger....and maybe are a little older than you younger ladies.

Imke, hope they can pin it down to what kind it is so they can give you the right meds.

For those of you buying copics, I have a lot that I don't use, I use R85,R83,R81, R00, RV10 for pinks and never touch the rest but occasionally. It is the same with the other colors too, I have them but use just a few so you really don't need them all. I use the same Reds that Kathy uses.

Hope you have all had a great weekend. We had a quiet one. I am going to clean up my Copics tomorrow and lay out what I need for the class and clean my craft room before I leave for KS city. I am counting the days too Tracie.

Susanne, I think it is an honor to be mentioned in the favorites section of SCS. I know a few other ladies that have been mentioned and I have been a few times and each time I was shocked. The ladies that are mentioned usually have a fab card like yours. I used to check it out just to see the great cards that are nominated. It is a fun thread. Congrats to you!!!

One more thing, we didn't get the tornados, they missed us at least the high winds did but we got the much needed rain. I don't think anyone had tornados but they did have winds up to 7- mph but no casualties.

Susanne: I'm in the company of a celebrity now..no seriously. Congratulations on having your card picked you did an awesome job on it. I agree that a e-reader is the way to go. I use my DH's sometimes to read. My eyes have gotten so bad in the last two years.
I'm going to go ahead and get me one.

Imke: I hope the tests go well and they can find what they need to help you. I'm with Kathy on taking maybe some images and your copics to help pass the time.

Linda: Thank goodness no torando's. I'm getting really excited about the trip. This should be so much fun. Are you going to take your own copics? I was wondering if I should take my own and if I do I need to mark them.

Tracie: I can't wait to meet you. It will be nice to know your close by incase we get lost..lol I'm so bad at taking the scenic route. (What I call it when I get lost)

Lena:Be sure and post pictures when you get your craftroom finished.Would love to see it. I'm so ready to redo mine, but to many other projects to finish first.

Hope all you ladies have a awesome day!!

Linda--I have never heard of the FAVORITES OF THE WEEK! Thanks Patti for telling me about this--I will put it on my list to ck out every-week!

Kathy---hahaha yes, I am old school.. (in denial and CHEAP) once I break down and buy glasses--I might as well do the bi-tri-quad--focal's and be done with it! And, it seems it hit me this year--I wanted to buy a magnifying glass for the kitchen area--I could not read the back of Uncle Tom's Rice last week--swear to God..when did this happen?! I said; "Um kids...one of you have to read this box so I can cook the rice please?"...Yeah...denial!!! hahahaha

Hi everyone.
Yeah Susanne and Pat too!! it is always fun to be highlighted!!

My card is done now, just need to get it uploaded! Hopefully I will find a few min. to do that soon!! Maybe tonight. Then, I can go and check out all the great cards!

Can't wait to see what you send Vickie!!

Can't wait to hear how the big Copic class goes. I am so jealous of (1) getting to take a class - there is nothing like that anywhere near me and (2) getting to meet! How fun!! Make sure you ladies behave in class LOL!!!

Talking about glasses, I am in the same boat! I have had to close my right eye to see whatever is on the whiteboard when I am at workshops. And it is getting worse and worse all the time. I really need to get to the eyedoctor and get some glasses!! Sheesh, makes me feel old!!

Lena, so frustrating to not know where your supplies are ... but so exciting to have a new craft room!!

Linda - glad to hear you didn`t get a tornado ... man, those things would scare me to death!!

Well, off to do some more organizing in my own crafting room!!

Debra, I am taking my own copics. I don't want to have to share a set between two other people, did that in Oregon and sometimes it is quite a wait. The store the class is being held in is in the top 10 rated scrapbook stores in the US. I talked to a lady when I ordered my Panera Bread lunch and she said it is quite a store and people come from several states to shop there, they have everything and I think my pocketbook is in trouble. lol!! Then, Tracie is taking us to Archivers, Michaels, and who knows where else. I was on a chat tonight with some ladies and Suzanne Dean and she said she had a surprise for me and wants to know if we are going out friday night with the group of ladies that are going out to dinner together. I told her maybe, we'll see what is going on after shopping and see what Tracie has planned. It is not a big deal to me because we planned on going with her on Sat. night. I have her cell phone number that she posted.

Can you all tell that I am getting excited. Gosh I have so much I need to do, like clean house before company, got the sheets changed already, mop, sweep but can't get in the mood to do it.

Lena, can't wait to see you new room. Photos please when it is finished.

Imke, what dates will you be in hospital?

Have a great evening everyone.
