I have a lot of Geek friends and boys in my life who would love to get a nerdy birthday card. This will be about Sci-Fi, video games, and general nerdiness!
I am listing some of my favorite nerdy stuff below as categories, but feel free to suggest additional geek pastimes and we can add more!
Description: Full Size Card- 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. If you make a size different than this, please include an envie. Please create something you would like to receive!
Quantity: You will send in 5 cards for this swap. No +1 needed.
Vendor Products: NVR on all but PLEASE use good quality cardstock. Please send cards that you are proud of!
Due Date: Due in my hands Saturday, July 13, 2013. I will swap these out and have them mailed back out on Monday July 15th. If your cards are received after the due date, I'll send them back to you.
Mailing instructions: Place swap cards in a large baggie for waterproof purposes. Write your real name, SCS name, address and swap name on a piece of paper or the baggie for identification purposes.
Swap Return: NO DATED STAMPS OR METERED MAIL. Send the amount of postage (or cash) that it takes to mail your package to me and a self addressed mailing label. It would be nice to include a little extra, just in case. I will return any unused postage with your package.
GEEKY prizes are sure to be awarded!
PM me please for my mailing address when you are ready to mail.
geek you say? I'm seeing the majority of guys that are in my area....tekkies and trekkies alike...these would make great Younger--masculine cards....not all but some of these would be great....
and once i get my stuff organized...when i join this group--i will be using the remainder for the RMH house...can you imagine the kids going bonkers of video game b-day cards....its a win-win situation!
Good idea! I do hope we get at least a few people for a small swap. I have quite a few people who would love getting these. I have 3 boys who are always going to birthday parties that these would be perfect for. Most males in my extended family are gamers and geeks and I always have trouble with giving them the perfect cards. Hope we get a swap going!
Jessi--i agree with you...put me down for 2 spots....one in video games the other in anything nerdy...my mind is whirling with idea's....keeps me occupied but gets me in trouble too sometimes....
I love punch art so i'll be doing that alot...if its okay with you... if it still doesn't move...later in on the swap--you might think of extending the date....just a thought...
I will put a shout out in my other swaps and put the link in for this one as well...
I see ALOT of potential for the guys in the world with this swap! one of these cards and a game stop gift card....priceless
Location: Foster dog REX is up for adoption at www.mwdr.org
I keep thinking about this swap more and more!
I keep thinking about more and more people that would love these cards! I think I'm going to have to go out on a limb and say I will definitely go for the Star Trek group, the Star Wars group, and the video game group. I also LOVE the GEEK group idea, but need to think on that one.
YES, Linda! I think the kids at RMD Houses will LOVE these cards, and that is where most of my cards go, anyhow! I'll make a few extra when I'm making them for me to use.
As far as Bacon goes, can you use a pig with a bacon-y phrase??? I know that I have several piggy stamps, but don't think I have anything bacon!
The other group is Dr. Who, and I'm just not sure about that one.
So, I guess I'm saying that you can put me down for all but the Dr Who and bacon group, and depending on what your answer is for bacon, I may be doing that one, too!
jess--you are correct no witch at the end of the trail....love it!
janie--wow you choose alot of spots!!! way to go woman...I know what you mean about thinking of more and more people...i even called one of my companies IT guys cause i was looking up computer sayings...and i found one and i asked him if it was funny --had to do with binary numbers and then for 3 min he had a discussion with another IT guy cause he was getting his 0-1 mixed up....the minute he started counting the 0-1-0-1 it started going over my head....
okay i have a riley the moose on a computer...but i don't think he is geekie enough...
have gotten my 2 spots done...called my handy dandy scrapbook shop asked if they have any star wars paper...i have another thought....
Jessika, (just had to type that out! lol) I found it on ebay... I put the link on there. I've never seen it before, I love it! I already have my ideas down for the video game group though, so I think I'm saving my funds for the Star Trek set.
Ok so those search links sent me on a very long browsing session.... Of course I ended up thinking I need to start carving my own stamps again like in high school! I don't think I can handle another hobby!
