A NEW YEAR ~ CARDS FOR A CAUSE ~ STAMP FROM THE HEART
Welcome to Cards for A Cause
~ A New Year ~ Stamp from the Heart!
First of all, thank you Lydia for giving me the heads up that the Cards for a Cause Challenge was in need of someone's assistance in keeping it alive going forward in 2011. I must say I have to give Julie (Readysetstamp671h) a huge pat on the back and a big ole warm and fuzzy hug for all of the effort, organization and work she put into Cards for a Cause in the past! What a kind, generous and *Compassionate* woman! It will not be easy filling those very capable shoes.
Same Mission ~ New Year!
1. As you all are aware, there are so many compassionate, generous and caring stampers in the SCS world. We plan to tap into that vast resource to keep this great challenge going. I will take the responsibility to insure that a destination for our cards is found and posted each month. I feel strongly that there are many important organizations in the lives of the stampers of SCS that they are compassionate to and thankful for within their own communities! I am excited that together, we can thank and reward these organizations throughout many communities by sharing our hand crafted treasures!
2. Beginning January 2011, a new thread will be started on the 1st of each month in the challenge forum by either myself or a Guest Challenge Hostess. It is there where the featured organization for the month will be announced. We will share a little information about the organization featured and how they are making a difference in their community. We will also use this thread to post any specific instructions as well as the address/contact person where the cards are to be mailed to.
3. We will ask the challenge participants to post comments in the thread throughout the month notifying us that they have partcipated by mailing their cards to the monthly featured organization. The thread can also be used to ask questions, chat about any details regarding the monthly cause or even as a place to post thank yous or news about the challenge throughout the month.
4. I am excited about the fact that SCS provides a venue whereby an organization can be recognized for doing good things in the communities of our SCS stampers. I will post a schedule in the Cards for A Cause Forum and will post updates on the various featured organizations just as soon as they are identified. Having this information in advance from month to month, may provide you the additional time you need to participate each and every month. Even though you have the opportunity to make cards ahead of time, in advance of the upcoming Cards for a Cause challenge, we would ask you that you not mail them early. Please mail your cards to the organization during the month they are featured so that the impact of receiving a *blast* of cards during their featured month is realized.
5. Lastly, we need your help! If you have an organization in mind that is located in your community (or any community for that matter!) that is near and dear to your heart, feel free to contact me to get on the schedule. You can host your own challenge or if you would prefer, I will host it for you. Spread the word to other stampers as well!

You never cease to amaze me Cinderella!!! Thank you so much - I'm very excited and I have a few places on my list I will send in! Thank you for your big heart for service and your fun streak a mile wide!!
This is a challenge I have supported in the past and will continue to do so with each monthly challenge. Thanks, Cindy, for not allowing this cause to go awry.
Hello Cindy I pm you some questions I have some an organization in mind but questions First and some of organization are not located in my community I am so excited I am in tears cindy thanks for hosting the thread you don't what it mean too me!!!
Happy hotwheels
I'd never checked this challenge before as seemed to much for me...but after the month long HYCCT challenge, I learned that every card doesn't have to take 4 hrs to do....heehee... so will keep my eye on this and plan to join in. Making others smile with my cards is a great reward.
This sounds cool for the new year. I'm challenging myself to make a difference in someone's life with my creations. This looks like a wonderful place to begin my journey. Thanks for the opportunity.
Question: How many cards do we do each month for the organization??

I have participated in Cards for a Cause in the past and was sorry to see it end. Julie did a great job but I understood her reasons for having to give it up. Thank you so much for giving it a new life. I will be looking forward to joining the others in this challenge.
looking foward to seeing what's ahead in this challange. new to SCS and working with OWH this year and hope to help more out there. Anything to keep me crafting instead of watching TV, or cleaning my house for that matter. lol.
Wow! I am so tickled to see the response! I am excited too to get this off and running. I have challenges lined up for January, February and March! I will be posting January's on the 1st......thank you so much everyone for your positive responses here.....
To answer your question Sanura, you can make as many cards as you please. You can make one or you can make as many as you want for the organization. It all up to you and your available time through the month.
Each challenge could have some restrictions depending on the requests of the organization but it that is the case I will clearly post it in the challenge!
I am tickled at the response here and look forward to spending time with you all in 2011! Whoo hoo!
marMotherk: do we have upload all the card we make in our gallery? Or is that optional?thanks hotwheels
Hi there!
Its optional......but I can tell you one thing! If you do upload it come and let us know so that we can ooh and ahh over it!

Hi there! I don't know how its going to work....we will just see.....if you dont send any cards don't mark the poll at all. If you send one card, just mark that you sent one card....and if you send tons of cards, just mark that you sent more than one card.
I won't have an accurate count but I can at least get a feel for approximately how many have been sent....No worries about that....its just me being curious as to how many are going out each month. Thanks for asking though and I will look forward to hearing from you later!
Cindy, your name should be motheramazing, with all you find time to do.
Thank you for taking over this endeavor, and all the best. One of my New Year's Resolutions is to get more cards sent off for these various causes - and, as Sheri mentioned, to remember that I do not have to spend several hours making a card!

Aw....thanks Dorothy! Why am I not surprised to see you here posting......I know you do so much for the troops already......That is a wonderful New Year's Resolution and if I know you, you will succeed.
I think you and Sheri's advice on not spending 42,000 hours is a wise one! This is advice I need to take myself! Giggle!
Oh my goodness, I am sooo happy Cards for a Cause is going to continue this year!!! I was crushed when I thought we weren't going to be able to do it anymore. I'm one of those card makers that loves to make cards; but then I get a whole stack of them and look at them and think "ok, now what?"!! The fact that I can make them, and send them on their merry little way to someone else and hopefully bring a smile to someone's face just tickles me silly!!

Agree, I am a hobby cardmaker, so i don't sell my creation and been in a crazy making cards mood! Finished my swaps and ahead of my Christmas so this is great!
OMG! Pam.....Christmas just got over and you are already ahead of the game for Christmas! You go girl! I am glad you and RJTMom are here and can help get some cards to some great organizations over the coming year! Thanks guys! Keep up with your card making! Giggle!
No worries Linda...you can put them here but more people might see them if you put it in the thread for the January card drive. Each month I will post a completely new thread for each monthly challenge and you can post links to your cards there if you would like!
