I am sooo excited to share this letter I received with all of you. Please read the following, I received it from Donna. Cindy was the collector for the cards we sent in January. I am so inspired to keep helping and showing our support!
I just finished separating these amazing cards into boxes for two aircraft carriers. Both ships are very excited in receiving the cards, but even more so with the fact that these were personally made just for them. I'm still quite amazed and very humbled with the volume of cards from (my count is 293!!) and the far-reaching response (14 states, I believe)!
Please convey to this very generous, thoughtful group how incredibly appreciative I am of their support of our deployed sailors, and my gratitude cannot match that of the individual sailors and, of course, their families. The boost to morale and 'lessening of distance' is something that cannot be tangibly measured. Rest assured, from a personal vantage point, there is absolutely nothing as poignant as being able to physically hold a card that your loved one had written and sent to you. It's an emotional connection and something that can be held and cherished time and time again.
Again, I am completely blown away and humbled by the incredible support this group has shown our sailors.
Take care and God bless,
Thank you for helping us help others!
