I have a similar question to Pam's. Is the part that you cut just a layer on the front of a regular rectangular card which opens at the regular folded edge? Or is it a special shaped flap which *is* the part you open?
I am really new to the challenges so perhaps I would know this if I had more experience...
I'm sorry again...I didn't see your question and you probably know by now that it's just a panel layered on the front. Anytime it's an odd shape I'll show an open photo like Beth did in her square card a couple of weeks back.
First off....I'm a singin' with Beth!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROX!!!! Well, unfortunately, I have to make a sympathy card today(hate to be the rain on the birthday parade....but please keep my friend's family in your thoughts and prayers....they lost their 10mo old nephew do to an accidental suffercation). I didn't think I could use this sketch for such a card...but after seeing all the beautiful bouquets from this challenge, I think you may have given me a wonderful layout!
Star, that is so sad, my heart goes out to them and I just don't know what else to say.
Question for those of you that uploaded cards, did you put them under the technique spotlight one? I tried to put it under painted garden as that is the stamp set I used and admin moved it to the embossing resist page..is that normal? Do I leave it there or move it to painted garden? HELP??
If your stamp set is typed into the search feature your card will come up with in the search findings. As long as the word is in the description it'll come up!
For example: if someone cased your card and you know they mentioned you, all you need to do is type in your name and it'll appear. So it doesn't really matter where it's located in the gallery.
What a fun sketch. I did the narrow top and took your advice Roxie to make a permanent template. Will make the next one even quicker. I combined with Beth's TLC57 Resist, Resist. I really liked the results. Thanks for looking and thanks Roxie for another cool SC
Hi Ladies No challenge for me today Dh is home this week lol... yard is done and honey do list is finished sooooo , it's my turn LOL cook and pamper Happy Birthday Rox!!! I hope to check out all the great cards before the weekend.
okay I really need help on this one, seems like I am having a brain freeze. I see you the directions it says to Line up the corner and the mark on your cutter and make the cut. Can someone please let me know what I am doing here? LOL I cannot figure it out for the life of me today. I am sure it is so simple I am going to cry, but just can't get how I am lining it up on my cutter. Thanks!
After you cut off the 1/2 inch from your paper, this is the important part, take your ruler and measure on one side of the paper, in 1 inch on both sides. Then take your straight edge or cutter, put the 1st 1 inch mark at the bottom lined up, now move your top over until the top edge is along the straight edge too, then cut. you will end up with a piece like this \ or like / depending on which end you are cutting. Do this on the other side. Hope this helps??

Just can't seem to get my brain to figure something out with this sketch!! Seems like I come up with an idea.....and what stamps I have, don't seem to go with the "flow"!!! Time to step back and just enjoy all the wonderful work you ladies are doing!!
Also....thanks so much for all the kind thoughts for my friend....Somehow I know that they will help her family get through this difficult time.
First Off, Rox
Didn't have much time to stamp today but I was able to get this one done late this afternoon. Had this idea first thing this morning, and when I got it going, I realized that I was really stepping out off my box on this one. Didn't use one background stamp and I like it (might even be my Mother's Day Card):
Here is my second card for today's challenge...I am going to do at least one more maybe 2 because I need both an Anniversary Card and a Thank you Card...and I like working with this sketch. I hope you like this one, I do!
Well, I am continuing with my resolution this week however I have to say I just wasnt feeling the mojo today! My allergies are acting up! So I went with quick and cute and used my Island Blossoms scrappin kit. Here is my card:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...00&ppuser=6764
One more for today's challenge...I seem to be stuck in a distressed mode...I'm going to try really hard to break away from it with my next, and last, card for this challenge. For this challenge I combined a light-hearted stamp - Fun Filled- with a more formal background...not sure it works that well, but I like it anyway. I will understand if you don't think it works. TFL
Happy Birthday to you (soon.....)....hope you have a great one....thanks again for posting these challenges.....any news about Andrea.......
Happy Day........enjoy your B-day......
No I haven't heard any word at all, sorry.
Whew, I just made it through all the challenge cards and they are fantastic, loved them all and so many good ideas.
I'm sorry I wasn't here to answer some question and thanks to those that did that for me. My day is usually very laid back with nothing going on but not the case today. Nothing tragic like Stara's news, just a busy day. Thanks to everyone for playing and I hope to see some more cards!
