Sketch Challenge 63
I am thrilled to be guest hostess again this week. Thanks Rox! Andrea - as always - we are thinking of you and your family!
Master Thread
If you have questions, please ask. If you have suggestions, please feel free to share them here.
Reminder: When you upload, please put SC63 in the keyword section and then post a link to your card, not your gallery here in this thread. It will be easier for people to find your creation and leave comments (and don't we all love comments???)
Forums at Splitcoaststampers
is a link to explain how to upload your cards to the gallery.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us STAMPIN' !!
Square Cards are fun - here is a new spin on those fun shaped cards.... a 5x5 square card with a slit punch tab at the top of the card.
Here is the cards which inspired the sketch:
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
And here is one done by Michelle Wooderson...........
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I hope you enjoy my sketch selection.....This idea came to me in my deep thoughts one day. I was trying to figure out how to put a new spin on square cards. Something new and different! This is what I came up with. My friends call it the "Bethie fold".....
...I look forward to seeing all your creations....
And by all means - bonus points for a hat trick: The TLC (Faux embossing), the color challenge (Chocolate Chip, Bashful blue and Certainly celery) and the sketch!
Gallery Submissions

Hmmmmm? Wondering how to do a smooth slit punch without the punch. Will think on that and hopefully try tomorrow.

If you are like me and have a Fiskars shape cutter system sitting in your rarely used pile, you could do a partial cut of a circular shape in the place you would like the slit.

One of my friends borrowed my punch ages ago. It's almost 7 am here now. I'm thinking if she isn't up I should wake her up.

Great challenge, can't wait to get started. Unfortunately I have errands this morning, but as soon as I return, I'm off to my stamping room. Thanks for a great challenge Beth, I've never done a square card before and am excited about this. I already have something in mind! Oh I hate being this excited and not being able to get to stamp for a couple more hours. Lord have mercy and grant me some patience!

For those of you who don't have a slit punch, do you have a Coluzzle? Cut half of the smallest circle for your little tab.

Very interesting sketch. I'm looking forward to trying it tonight or later this week depending on how my time goes. Thanks lacyquilter for mentioning about the Coluzzle to substitute for the slit punch. I was going to mention that. I love all the creations I have been seeing already for this challenge but must get to work now and will see you ladies later.

Plain Jane
I did my best to incorporate all three challenges.
Beth, this was such a fun card sketch. I can't wait until later when I can play again without trying to incorporate all three challenges into one.
Here it is, pending as of 9:20 am:

Morning all! Beth, you sooo rock! Saw your card with the rick-rack last week and knew I had to try one. But, alas, it will have to wait, DD and I are off to Disneyland today (we have season passes). Maybe Mickey will give me an inspiration?
I've looked at all the posted cards, but the system is so slow I have given up commenting this am....but so far you girls are rising to the challenge with GREAT cards (to case, hee-hee)!!!!

This is a great SC!! I have a fancy folds class coming up and this may become one of our cards, perfect timing!! I did 2, the first with the Island Blossoms scrap kit and so there was very little stamping. It went together so fast it felt like I cheated so I did another, LOL.

I used some HPH to keep it closed at the top because I can't find my slit punch anywhere.
