Master Thread

I am soooo excited to share this week's sketch with you. We have done something similar to this sketch before but I think this new twist on an old idea will produce some WONDERFUL stuff! This week's inspiration card was done by stampinsusie. I LOVE how stampinsusie took the pocket card and turned it on its side!

Sideways pocket directions:
1. cut paper for 1/4 sheet size card, just like normal
2. score your paper at 4.25 inches just like a normal 1/4 sheet card
3. Position your folded card so the fold is at the BOTTOM of the card.
4. Fold down 1.5 inches (or somewhere about that, whatever looks good on your card) toward the fold.
5. glue down the right and left sides forming a pocket
6. you now have a pocket card with a flap that you can decorate any way you choose!

***WHAT'S COMING UP.......****
Can you believe that we are on sketch 45 already?!?! I am so happy that everyone enjoys these sketches so much and I've got a few tricks up my sleeves for upcoming weeks so I hope everyone can particpate as much as possible over the hectic holidays. Be on the lookout in upcoming weeks for....
.....some fun bonus challenges, some new shapes, a "best of" theme, and more!!!!!!!!

OH! Did I mention today I went through this week's gallery and added 45 new cards to my favorites with great layouts for the sketch challenge

Gallery Submissions

To print this layout: - (nc means no color) If you see a small layout click on it or if you see an icon click on the words next to it.
-When the black surround screen appears click only on the layout and a white screen with the layout should appear.
-Right click and click on print from the pop up box or hold down your shift key and P key at the same time.
-Now you're ready to choose print and it should print to actual size of the card depending on your computer.

I have been trying to come up with my 4th and 5th designs for my Christmas card sas and this is #4! Love this sketch. The photo does not do the card justice as the colors look terrible. THanks for the inspiration!!!

This was fun - I've never made a pocket card before! I'm not totally thrilled with the result but DS woke up before I could play around anymore.

Thanks for the sketch Andrea!

stampincuzILuv2 11-02-2005 02:48 PM

here is my first one

cas79 11-02-2005 02:49 PM

What a wonderful challenge! I finally broke down and got this set after seeing all of the wonderful additions to the gallery....not sure if I like the final result but had fun makin' it! Thanks for looking!

CardFanatic 11-02-2005 03:02 PM

I love this side-ways pocket card. I think it will be great for Christmas gift card giving. (I'm a little bummed. After I uploaded it, I noticed the ribbon was crooked. Sigh.)

JusColorado 11-02-2005 03:20 PM

Okay. I am humbled and awestruck by the incredible pocket cards I've seen thusfar. I have to ask myself why I would bother posting my simple little card, but I made it so here goes:

SC45 HB Pocket

CardFanatic 11-02-2005 04:39 PM

Here's another one. Same colors, different design. I think I like the first one better.

kittie747 11-02-2005 06:23 PM

Here's mine. I looked forward to making this all day and when I got down to it it just didn't go as well as I had hoped. Posting anyway. I love pocket cards and will try making this again.

JJBrooks 11-02-2005 06:28 PM

Here is another one I did tonight!

My first sketch challenge! I can't upload, so I've attached my card.

emilymomto3boys 11-02-2005 07:01 PM

Okay, here are mine!

and a variation:

Rox71 11-02-2005 07:04 PM

Glitter just does not scan well at all. My trees do not look going gray with delicate glitter on them and my big snowflakes are so dark here. So use your imagination on this one and to help, the glitter is the color of the tag ribbon in real life. This just may not stay in my gallery for long!

Here's the card

Jeanne S 11-02-2005 07:11 PM

What a great sketch! Here's 2 more:

Ellibelle 11-02-2005 08:15 PM

I finally got one done! I guess it wasn't as difficult as it seemed. Thank you so much, Andrea, for having this sketch challenge. This sketch is really cool. I hope to have time tomorrow to try another one!!

And here is my card from today.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 06:20 AM.
