Jane--my friend Carol, here on SCS, sent me a large Priority Box that was filled with SU stamp sets and ink pads. She is also sending me a box of cards next week. I will be taking these things to the Tosa House the week before Valentines Day.
Just thought I let you know--Barb

Sounds good!
I'll keep an eye out for the box, LJ! Thanks!
Barb, when you get a card count, let me know! Ask them if they need anything else. I have some extra supplies, like stamp pads, and stamps, that I can mail you, too. If they don't need them, I'll send them to the Marshfield house.
what exactly is it that i will be volunteering for? what would i be doing or do you need a monetary donation? i live in hawaii and would like to make a difference. i can't think of a better organization.

LJ,
Sorry I haven't been in touch sooner, but I've been having dog trouble. My doxie has a blown disk in her back and the last few days have been brutal! I think she is finally doing better, though. Still hoping to avoid surgery, so we'll see.
Anyhow, your box came the other day, but my husband forgot to bring it in the house! I'll get some pictures taken and posted on the website soon! Thanks for all the pretty cards! I'm getting a box together for the Marshfield house.

So, basically, what you do depends on you! There are 2 houses in Hawaii, both in Honalulu. If you would like to send one house or both of them cards, that would be fantastic! I usually package the cards up with an envelope and put them into a plastic card sleeve, to keep them together and also to keep them clean for the kids.
We have some people who like to do other things like making tray favors for their house. Depending on the number of rooms in a house, you make up that many gift packs. These don't have to be big, just a little something to let them know that someone is thinking of them. We have had different people send in all kinds of things- a card kit for them to make up, a treat pack, a pen and paper set, a little easter package, or even a prayer box.
Some people do both. They send in cards when they have them and then when they have time, some kind of a treat. We have some people who do this by themselves, and others that organize swaps to get enough cards together. Some people have their stamping friends over and make something up as a group.
Also, each house has a wishlist on their website, that can give you ideas of things that they need. Some houses collect those hotel bottles of shampoo and conditioner for their families, for example.
Also, when you send in cards, just let me know, so that I can add it to the running total of cards sent in to RMD houses! Some of the girls also keep a running total of cards they have sent to thier specific house, too!
Let me know if you need some help or what you would like to do. Welcome to the group!

You got that right!!!
I do foster care on rescue doxies, and cry every time one is adopted! Tears of joy, because they found a wonderful forever home, and tears of sadness- for my loss. It is bittersweet!
Pepper seems to be doing a little better today! I'm praying that this new combination of meds will do the trick to help her back heal and eliminate her pain!

Hi Everyone!
Hope everyone is doing good! I need to package up some cards to send to the Marshfield, WI house, I haven't had a chance to send them any since before Christmas. I've been having trouble with one of my doxies, who herniated a disk in her back. She has been on meds and crate rest for 6 weeks, to no avail, and so she went in for surgery on her back yesterday. I'm waiting to hear from the doctor, soon, and I'm on pins and needles!

YEAH!!! Another house adopted!!!
I just got a confirmation that "monicas silas" is going to adopt the Washington DC house!!! If you live in that area and would like to help her, don't hesitate to contact her!
Thank you Monica for stepping up to the plate and volunteering to donate cards to that house!!! YOU ROCK!!!!
Jane, just thought I would give a quick post... For those of you who are on facebook, my sweet husband just posted several pictures of Aaron, Moireen and the girls along with a shot of the back of the motor home with Cole's picture. (you can find me under Caterina Grove)
They stayed with us for a few days because of a speaking engagement and am so blessed by this remarkable family. Their three little girls are precious.
Thanks again, Jane, for all you and everyone does for RMH!! You gals rock!

Caterina, you are wonderful for opening up your home and your heart to Cole's family! This must be an amazing family! They are helping others to deal with a child with cancer, through the tragedy of thier own loss. May God bless them and keep them safe on their travels!

Jane, they are extremely special... wish you could meet them. They do intend to do lots of traveling visiting hospitals, RMHs, kids and their families so they may be in your area in the future.

I'm amazed at people who go through such tragedy and turn it into something beautiful!

Hope you had a great weekend!
I had another busy weekend with my rescue dogs and with stamping. My rescue took in 25 dogs this past week! It was crazy!
I also made about 50 cards this past week, with 2 different sets being part of swaps. Each month, I do 2 sets of cards for this swap. It is organized by my local stampin up girl, and we always have a GREAT group of woman who participate! This month was a punch swap, where you were supposed to use at least one punch to make the card. Last month, we had an all white swap. That one was a really hard one for me, for some reason, but I was happy with the cards that I made, and the cards as a whole were fabulous!!!
Between stamping and dog rescue, I haven't had much time to post! I keep hoping to get into a daily routine, but I haven't been great about it!
Would some of you help me to keep this thread current????? The more it gets bumped to the top, the more exposure it will get to stampers who might be interested in adopting a house!
Jane--have an awesome trip--we'll keep this bumped!

As an update--this company also works with OWH--Operation Write Home. If you go to the OWH website, under the shop tab, it tells that you can get a 10% discount as well as waiving the $10 small order fee. So, you might be able to order 1000 for the price listed, plus shipping. The shipping is still pretty high, over $11 for one box, but goes to $13.64 for two boxes. So, if you have someone to share an order with, it still is a great deal!

If anyone wants to order envies in very large quanties, this is the absolute best price.
$17.67 for 1000 white envies. But, if your order is under $75, there is a $10 charge and also shipping. So, last time I ordered (and I split with four other people), I order 6 boxes--for $101 and then shipping was around $22. So, for $123, we got 6000 envies, so that is like $2 for 100 envies. So, I still have one unopened box of 1000 and a partial box. We also did a huge shipment to Operation Write Home before the holidays.
So, if you have some people to split with or a place to store the boxes of envelopes as you might never run out, this is the best deal!
