I spoke with Marilyn, the house director...
...and she said that everyone has been THRILLED with everyone's generosity! It's a wonder what a card can do for someone who needs a word of encouragement, or wants to send a special thank you to someone, but you don't even have time to think, never mind buy a card!!!
I also want to thank each and every one of you for joining me in my crusade! If we can bring one smile to the face of a sick child, then it is all worth it in my book!!!

A great mail day!!!
I got your package Cindy!!! I can't wait to start working on the Easter Project! Thanks for sending all the stuff!!! Hope you are feeling better!!!
Kim,
Thanks for the GREAT cards! I'm sure that they will be put to good use! I'll be bringing them to RMD House before Easter!!! Any cards that you send will put a smile on someones face!
Everyone,
There is still time to send any Easter Cards, and I would love to be able to bring some kids cards, like birthday cards!
Can you use some more cards? I assume you would like a stack of blank cards? I am a fairly new stamper, but would love to help!! When I get a little pile, I will try and send them off right away!

All cards are welcome!!!
Thanks so much for helping! We are especially in need of children's birthday cards!
BUT, we will take any cards you are willing to send! I'm not going to the house until right before Easter, so you have a little time! And if it takes longer than that, I'll probably be going next month also!
Kay, I got your ribbon box in!!! Yeah!!!
God Bless you all and hope you have a great weekend!

I just got a PM from someone, asking what kinds of things they want at RMD House!
So, I decided to post my answer here! Hopefully this helps other people that might have questions!
**We just got them started with a scrapbooking program for the kids at Ronald McDonald House. I've been gathering paper, embellishments, stamps, and more. The Art Therapist is working with them and hopefully the kids and family can continue on their own!
I'm also collecting any type of craft items you are not using! Cards, especially kids birthday cards, but any and all are welcome!
Anything that would go into a small Easter basket for the kids! They have 38 rooms and they are always full!
So, basically, anything that you have and are willing to send would be great! The art director for the house also works with all the kids at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, so kids that aren't staying at RMD House because they live close enough to drive also benefit from these items!
My daughter received blood transfusions to manage her blood counts during chemotherapy. I remember her last transfusion well. It was in the ER because the oncology clinic is closed on weekends. Children were screaming bloody murder that night! A teenager was in the room next to us, guarded by police officers, because he had been shot with a gun. I can only imagine this kid didn't get pain medication because they needed to interview him. Babies and young children seemed to be screaming in chorus. I took my daughter to the ER several times during treatment, and we had never experienced such an intense night. Some children had burns, as it was the fourth of July, but I didn't know what to think when kids continued to fill the ER all night. Why would toddlers be coming in with burns at 2:00am? My daughter didn't join the screaming choir that night. She was too terrified. I guess she thought the staff was causing the screams. Fortunately, a childlife specialist recognized my daughter's name (we are regulars at the hospital) on the board and visited us with some art projects. My daughter recognized the childlife specialist, and truly liked her, but she didn't talk to her. That was fine. They just did an art project with a one-sided conversation. By the time they started the next project, my daughter was talking and much more relaxed. I did the third project with my daughter while we waited for her blood to arrive. By the time it was ready, my daughter was calm and in control of the situation. The screaming outside our room never ceased; she just had opportunity to focus on something else. My daughter checked and checked her donor blood, making sure the type was correct and issued to her, and then she finished the last part of her project while she received blood. She also napped until the transfusion was finished at 6:00am. The screaming stopped around 5:00am, ugh. I am certain my daughter would have been restrained or sedated if the childlife specialist had not been there with art projects that required her full attention. Scrapbooking/card making is an art that requires concentration, which is very relaxing to a scared patient. Thank you for sharing the magic.
Hi Jane: I came upon some great stamp sets by inque boutique just perfect for kids but they will need some acrylic blocks to be used. Maybe someone has an inexpensive source for them. I'll get these in the mail to you asap. Kay

I received a few of the clear stamp sets from Cindy, also!
I think twinkle donated some acrylic blocks already! If they need more, maybe they will have some on e-bay or something! I'll keep an eye out for them!
I received another big box from Cinman, yesterday! It was filled with all kinds of goodies including some Easter treat packs with a stamp for all the kids at RMD house.
samanthasmom is going to help me put the easter bags together, and I got a few goodies to put in them as well.
I found a few pictures of my nephew (actually, my cousin's boy), Frankie, who was my inspiration for this thread. I will post them as soon as I can scan them into my computer!
God Bless you all!!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hi all!
I apologize for my tardiness in posting!!! It has been a crazy couple of weeks!
I have been working on several fundraisers, in addition to this project, and sometimes, I function in crisis mode... I have to focus on the project that is due next, and get it finished before the deadline and the next project needs to be completed!
I went over to samanthasmom, Cindy's home on Sat. and we worked on the Easter bag project that the other Cindy, cinman, sent for RMDH!
We were in crisis mode, yet again, trying to get the projects finished and too the house before 8:30, which is the last they accept things for the evening.
Anyhow, thanks to Cindy's other daughter, Lauren, who called in a brigade of friends, we finished by 7pm and delivered to the house by 8!!!
They turned out really cute! I will post pictures, along with pictures of all the other stuff that I brought from Everyone!!!

Here is the big box of stuff I got from Shelly in Canada!
You will have to excuse me if I make any mistakes on who sent what! I thought I had it all seperated out correctly, and now I'm not so sure! As I said, it's been a crazy past few weeks!!!
Wow! I saw all of this stuff in the back of your vehicle, but it looks like even more when it is all laid out like that. I have a dozen cards made for the next delivery. I'll have more by the time you are ready to collect them, of course.

Sorry for the delay in posting!
Hi all! I'm sorry about being tardy in posting, but I was in Florida for awhile. My MIL was not doing well, and we thought she had a stroke! She is doing much better after some med changes! But, we brought her up to Wisconsin, so my DH could get her in for some tests and find out if anything else is going on.
On Wed, last week, my DH picked me up from the airport in Milwaukee, and we dropped off all the items that came in for Mother's Day!
Cindy, the little hug boxes were sooooo cute!!!
Jena, your stuff (3 boxes) was dropped off for Mother's day, along with Cindy's hug boxes!
My husband came home from Florida before me, because he had to get back to work! He took pictures of all the things, and I have to find out which camera he used so I can post the pictures!!! I can't wait to see all the goodies you sent! Hopefully, I'll post the pictures later tonight!
Kay, your stamp sets came in today! They are very cute! Another thing I want to get done this week is call the Marshfield RMD House, and get things going to start bringing things to them as well! I'll let you know what happens!
Jane, cannot thank you enough for doing this. As a member of the Cole Foundation, know first hand the blessing of RMH. These children and their families are truly awesome heroes and it is a privilege to minister to them in every way possible. Cards, letters, goodie packages and even a phone call means so very much to them!!

Thanks Catarina!
The real blessing are my Angels, who regularly mail things to me! BUT, I love all the people who send things! The ones who say I'm sorry I couldn't send more are also a blessing, because they actually send what they are able to send! If everyone sent a dozen cards, we could get cards to every RMD house in the country!!!
You are also an Angel! The time you spend spreading sunshine on otherwise cloudy days is amazing! Cole's Foundation is an AWESOME group, with an even more inspiring beginning!
I love the Nickleback song...
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
And I'm singing Amen
Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive!
