Injured Marine would love some cards!

I come here with a request from my friend Leah---who is right now in Germany. But here is her email to me:
Marines:

We have a young Marine, Cpl Shane Hathaway who underwent surgery yesterday, 30 August 2010. He was shot 4 times. His family has said he would love to receive cards and letters to cheer him up. So lets do it.

Thanks Wendy for the suggestion. My brother was a Marine also, served in Vietnam and my husband was in the Air Force, Frighter Training unit.

I would say "cheer me up" cards---funny or get well, but whatever you want to send will brighten his day, I'm sure. Thanks

My near four year old is now in the process of creating a story book for Cpl. Hathaway. I too am former military.

I posted pictures of Koen's project for Cpl Hathaway in my blog. It'll be in the mail in a day or two.

I feel a sense of amusement for the poor folks in Bethesda though. By the time a lot of this mail is going to get there, Cpl Hathaway will probably have been moved to another area of the hospital. Forwarding a letter or two is one thing... but the sheer volume we tend to come up with here? *grin*
