I come here with a request from my friend Leah---who is right now in Germany. But here is her email to me:
Marines:
We have a young Marine, Cpl Shane Hathaway who underwent surgery yesterday, 30 August 2010. He was shot 4 times. His family has said he would love to receive cards and letters to cheer him up. So lets do it.
Send to:
Cpl Shane Hathaway, USMC
Surgical Unit 5th Floor
National Naval Medical Center
8901 Rockville Pike
Bethesda MD 20889-5600
So naturally, I thought of all my SCS sisters---let's flood him with cards to cheer him up. Thanks!

I posted pictures of Koen's project for Cpl Hathaway in my blog. It'll be in the mail in a day or two.
I feel a sense of amusement for the poor folks in Bethesda though. By the time a lot of this mail is going to get there, Cpl Hathaway will probably have been moved to another area of the hospital. Forwarding a letter or two is one thing... but the sheer volume we tend to come up with here? *grin*
I was wondering if there was an update also..I hope he is doing much better!!!
