Card for Army Girl

A girl from our youth group (not from our church, but started coming with a friend) had a rough home life (REALLY rough). She got a full scholarship for her first year of college but then ran out of money. She decided about 6 months ago to join the army. She has a genuine Christian faith, but her faith has been tested in so many ways and she really has no support other than a few of us from the youth group. I know she would love to get some cards from people at boot came. She's about half way through training now and apparently is at the top of her platoon. She did acquire a recent stress fracture in her foot but simply had it taped up and is continuing on. If nothing else, this girl is an over-comer. Her address is listed below. Please mention that you are a friend of "Momma D"... she will know who that is.

I don't normally check into this thread, but somehow this morning I did.
I'd be delighted to pick out a card and send it - and if she likes scripture, so much the better

, I keep my ODBD cards in a separate box for people I know will appreciate the verses.

We've no postal collection till Monday, but I have it ready to drop in the letter box tomorrow. There's a bookmark with a Scripture verse on it tucked inside, too

From what I understand, Lindsay will be at Fort Leonardwood for the remainder of her training. I really appreciate you sending her something. She's a great young lady who has accomplished much despite some pretty miserable circumstances. She still has a few things she's got to work out - but don't we all? LOL Thanks again.

They actually don't get much opportunity to write during boot camp - other than to immediate family. I only hear from her sporadically. They do not have access to their cell phones, internet, etc either. Thank you for asking though. I will post something as soon as I hear do hear more. Bless you for caring.
